Member Benefits 002-2: Cane Making

Polymer Clay Membership SiteCindy you make it seem that creating canes can be so effortless. I love what you do, and how you put into words the instruction for others to follow. I love the colors of flowers in nature to and I think that those colors in that one flower in this post are amazing. Colors are always inspiring, but your videos and instruction really make me want to think outside the box. Thanks! ~Andrea @ Polymer Clay Cane Designs

Cindy, Found you while surfing a few days ago. The video you sent me on the Skinner Blend was probably the best I have seen. What I will be interested in when you get them done is making canes, the more advanced ones. I also wanted to thank you on the info on storing clay. I just stuck them in baggie not knowing there would be problems. I have had a few left when I put the clay up for a while to take care of more pressing matters and boy was it hard to soften up again. I should have no upcoming problems and should be able to work on the clay one night a week. One night goes to painting or drawing, one night go to counted cross stitch, one night go to jewelry making and one night is Bible Study. ~Pat @ Polymer Clay Skinner Blend

Polymer Clay Membership SiteCindy, thanks so much for the positive comments on my necklace. I certainly don’t advocate the intentional burning of polymer clay (even though I personally love the look) for health reasons. But, this was one of those happy accidents! Thanks again. ~Maureen Thomas @ Polymer Clay Necklace

I’ve been playing with clay for awhile now but really appreciate your videos. They’re straight forward and easy to follow. Thanks so much :) ~Heather @ Polymer Clay Plastic Storage Boxes

Some of us just don’t have the patience to sand most beads, lol and as you say it is lazyness, no excuse there. If one wants a particular piece to stand out then one must sand. Mokume gane with translucent clay and leafing is one example, sanding just makes it ‘pop’. I totally agree that it makes the item look professional when it is well-finished. I tend to save my baked beads now until I have a tumbler full and then tumble sand it, hee. ~Tina Holden @ Sanding Polymer Clay Beads

Polymer Clay Membership SiteI’ve been working with clay since I was a little kid.(I’m now 21) I haven’t tried making beads or jewelery yet… I mostly enjoy creating little figurines. I just got a job with a weekly magazine creating projects!! Of course, all gifts to friends (and family) were handmade. And let me tell you, everyone I know appreciates gifts that are really from the heart, made with love! ~Hin @ Why Make Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy, I looked over my new video subscription today, and it’s awesome!! Know that I will have to return again (mannnyyyy times)!!!! You’ve definitely given me the initiative, and I loved your method of teaching — just matter of fact, and unlike most with an attitude (You are learning from a Rocket Scientist!!) Ha! Ha! Thanks again, and I’ll be back to look over the tutorials I purchased today. Would have come sooner, but I’m computer illiterate. Ahem! (it could be that I’m 64 and these things just don’t come to easily). Obviously I did something right though, because I was able to access the entire program I purchased. It had to have been my prayers to Jesus, because it was really getting to me. Thanks again, and by the way — I’d highly recommend your course to anyone. I plan on getting onto the Google and putting your name out. You are an exceptional teacher, and very gifted!!!! With Appreciation. ~Diana @ Make Polymer Clay Beads

Polymer Clay Membership SiteThank you for the free tutorial videos which I enjoy very much. The lentil bead video was very simple and informative. You are a great help to the polymer clay beginners like myself. Thanks again. ~Sherry @ Polymer Clay Lentil Beads

Your videos are perfect, don’t change a thing. I am new and bad at making beads and your videos are most helpful. ~Barbara @ Beginner Bead Making

I really appreciate the videos and all I am learning. I just had surgery and will begin the practical phase next week. So far I have just watched and read and amassed tools and clay. Once my husband picks up a 12×12 ceramic tile I will be on my way. I have seen someone make a tree face out of the clay and although I begin this craft wanting to make beads, I can see there is a plethera of things you can do with it. I am truly looking forward to getting started. I purposefully did not start so that I could use it as a distraction during my recovery. Your videos have been very very helpful. ~Lani @ Slicing Polymer Clay Canes

Polymer Clay Membership SiteGood ideas, I hadn’t actually thought to recover already baked beads with fresh clay. I save all of my mistakes thinking someday I may find a use for them. ~Nora @ Scrap Polymer Clay

Cindy, You have no idea how useful this tip is to me! I have been using my dremel with a coarse sanding tip to bevel each and every one of my pendants! What a waste of my time, when all I had to do was break out the Saran Wrap! Thank you so much for being there! ~Donna @ How To Make Polymer Clay Pendants

Thank you Cindy! Now I understand why I was getting oval beads. This is truly an addicting technique! Two of my friends have placed orders for these necklaces. I didn’t make them yet because they were coming out lopsided because I was too impatient to let them cool before piercing them. Now I will wait. ~Maria @ Polymer Clay Lentil Beads
