Member Benefits 024-1: Sand Buff Shine

It’s amazing how sanding and buffing transforms the clay. I like how Cindy emphasizes the need for doing it. Jade always has a very polished surface but sometimes we don’t see the obvious until some one points it out. I love Fridays!!! ~Koolbraider >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Jade Technique

Dear Cindy, I wanted to say thanks for the tips in your videos, I’ve been working with Polymer Clay for years, I make my own custom cake toppers. I do caricatures of real people from photos, cartoons and even animals, cartoon and real. I really enjoy it and have gotten quite good at it, but I didn’t know how much of a difference sanding and polishing my pieces could make, and I now make sure I work my clay completely before I start. Thanks again, ~Kelly-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Techniques

Ahhh, thanks for that tip. I did make a biggish one. I can trim it back. I’ve used it a lot since my last post and am very, very happy with it. The $10 I spent buying the back issue video where you made the felt wheel saved me more than $200 as I was very close to buying the expensive jewelers buffer. This one is set up in a small vice, takes only a few inches on my table, and works just great. ~Rose-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Buffing

Cindy my sore fingertips thank you for this video. I only wish I had seen it earlier before I made a bunch of pendants for our church bazaar. Oh well, there’s always next year! ~Maria-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Rock Tumbler

Another Grand Slam. You always have that special little secret that just makes everything come to life so much easier. I have covered many heart beads with canes and never once thought about shaping it into a square to make it so much easier and elegant. You have made another fantastic video that will help me to accomplish more professional looking beads. Thank you again for being you. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Heart Shaped Beads

Cindy – I just now got around to trying the dogwood flower cane. My first one came out great! Your video made it so easy! I used a skinner blend of cactus pollen, petunia, villa rosa, and wrapped in brick red. The lines I made in Blue Hosta blossom. I really like the look of the flowers backgroundless so I’m going to make some pendants from it. I’ll send a pic when I get them done! Thanks again for a great video! ~Carrie-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Just yesterday I saw some examples of this kaleidoscope cane and thought “I’d love to be able to do that!”  And here you are, right on top of my thoughts, presenting this cane in the next series. You are a mind reader! ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Kaleidoscope Polymer Cane Tutorial

This is wonderful, Cindy. It answers so many questions I didn’t know how to ask. Will enjoy this technique tremendously. Thanks so much! ~Joyce-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Gerbera Flower Cane

Hi Cindy! I am enjoying your videos and learning so much! Thank you for doing this program…I live in a part of the US where getting to polymer clay classes is not easy, and often very expensive. Even though I have a number of books on polymer clay, your video tutorials are far more educational and therefore a much better value. Thanks very much, ~Sally-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Classes

Cindy – I just watched the Mica Shift video. As I got into polymer clay a year ago, every time I looked for a tutorial, your site popped up.  I resisted joining for a long time, who knows why. For the last few months it has been such fun to work with you! Every time I see a new video I get great new ideas from you. This week, using the right pearl clay, and using a rounded bottle for the cutting were inspirational. Thanks so much! ~Jacqui-T >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Techniques

WOW! I can’t believe how simple this is! Before your video, I was trying to picture how you were going to do it, but I never pictured what you showed us today! If anyone is on the fence about subscribing, let me tell you, it is well worth it! ~Joyce-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Kaleidoscope

Cindy, Thank you so much for providing live tutorials and not just more pictures with written instructions. I am very much a visual and audio learner, so this is perfect. I have been interested in polymer clay for many years, but intimidated by what seemed a difficult art. You make it seem so simple and possible. Your fan from Wyoming. ~Kelly-A >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Giveaway Contest

Member Benefits 023-2: Tips Baking

Polymer Clay Membership Site

When I was searching the Internet for a new adventure Cindy’s website was coming up again and again. I believe it was Cindy who inspired me to open my ETSY store. I have learned so much from this website… The cornstarch was a beautiful thing. ~Susan-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy, The Baking Tips you offer are completely priceless! I have had the same issues as others… soft clay, cracking, and scorching… and you have covered all kinds of ways to prevent that. I made these totally great “fat sunbathers” that would float in water, but when I put them in the oven… needless to say they burned. The irony was not lost… but I was so disappointed after taking all the time to make them, that I haven’t gone back to try them again. Now that I have had all your tips and tricks, I am re-motivated to give it another shot! Thanks so much for making these tutorials… they are definitely worth the money! ~Kim-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

I had one lentil bead from that same jellyroll cane that I hadn’t baked yet. As you told me, baking it buried in cornstarch made a huge difference. So from now on, that’s what I’ll be doing. If I didn’t have you and this group, there’s a good chance that I would have given up on clay after burning those beads. Thanks! ~Linda-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Polymer Clay

Thanks so much, Cindy, for putting together this give-away. I have worked through two of the methods and will attempt the Raku this week. The upside of this is that I sold my heart earrings and Jupiter bead bracelet that I made out of the Jupiter bead technique. Yeah! ~Loretta-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads Giveaway

I am so glad the contest based on the Vol #14 Back Issue!!!!! I can’t wait to get started. This really is a great way to know what people are getting from your videos, and such an inspiration to get out that clay and play!!! Good luck to everyone, I know I am going to enjoy seeing all the pics of everyone’s work. It will be interesting to see what each of us gets from a certain lesson. Cindy, you rock!!!! ~Tiffany-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Win Some Polymer Clay Beads

Completely agree!!!! This has been so much fun. First doing the techniques and then seeing everyone’s work. I feel like I’m in art school again, which I love! I feel young and inspired and excited about creating so I definitely feel like a winner! ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Giveaway Wrap Up
