I am continuously impressed every Friday when a new tutorial comes out! As a complete newbie to polymer clay, I started out by purchasing Cindy’s beginner course. The amount of information jam packed into that course is priceless! I looked around my area for polymer clay courses, and was unable to find one for under $70 for a 3 hour class. By purchasing Cindy’s course, I instantly had access to 2.5 hours of polymer clay instruction, and I could watch in the privacy of my own home! If you’re anything like me, you only retain about 75% of the information the first time around. With Cindy’s course I can re-watch as many times as necessary, and even bring my laptop into my craft area! I then purchased the membership, and continued to be impressed! I have since purchased almost all of the back issue packages! The creativity, quality and ease with which the lessons are presented make working with polymer clay so easy! I’m constantly amazed by what I am able to create! For only $9.95 every 3 months? Definitely well worth the money! Thanks Cindy! ~Melissa-G >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Learning

Cindy, I have watched all the videos in your Beginner’s Course at least twice (some more!). It is obvious you are a natural teacher who enjoys and has mastery of her subject matter. Your experience working in television has enhanced your sense of pacing and editing. I think all this helps render your material so approachable and personal, and keeps all your members eager for each new installment! ~Monique-U >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Videos

Cindy, you have a way of making a technique seem much easier no matter how many times I have done it before. This is why I don’t think I would ever be able to say no to a tute from you. I learned this from the get go when I felt I already knew enough that the beginners course would not benefit me. Yea Right!!. I still to this day go back and review that course and get something new from it every time. There is no such thing about knowing enough when it comes to anything. Certainly not PC. For now I will have to be happy googling the lanyard and finding out what I can about it there. It will not be the same though. THANK YOU Cindy and Doug for any and all you share with us. You need to raise your prices!!!! uuuuuuugggs. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Lessons

Hey little beauty, well I am on the start of a wonderful and hopefully long road. No one should begin any sport, instrument, art, etc., without the prior proper lessons and knowledge. It won’t stop us from making mistakes along the way but it sure will help us make a lot less. Your Polymer Clay Tutor Course is truly one of the best I have ever taken. You really share your knowledge with me and make it so enjoyable to learn. Thank you so very much Cindy. ~Rose-R >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Basics

The best way to get started with polymer clay is to get Cindy’s fundamentals/beginners course, aka the Polymer Clay Basics Course. It has 39 short-and-to-the-point videos that help you watch and understand the various steps, so you completely “get it” and avoid the mistakes most beginners make. It’s a great course, and will answer those questions that come up when you’re starting out. Cindy’s videos are really well done. They’re clear, up-close, with great sound — it’s like you’re right there with her. You can get 3 free videos (a great way to see what they’re like) if you sign up for her free newsletter. You’ll also get free color recipes each week from her custom palettes. Great deal! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Beginners Course

I bought Cindy’s Beginner Course tonight – now I have her with me all the time. I can correct all the little mistakes that were causing me so much trouble. Just watched two of the videos and I have made some corrections in my beading technique. Well worth the cost – don’t know why I waited so long. I guess since I got paid for a dozen snowmen I felt that I could put them money to good use – her videos will make working with polymer clay a lot more fun and productive. ~Natlie-H >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Snowman Beads for Christmas

Thank you Cindy. I have been making feathers all day. Working to get the pattern memorized and playing with colors. It is terrific. I’m new here but I am at an intermediate level. Although I am working through your beginners course to break some of my bad habits and learn new skills. ~Kathleen-C >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy, after watching a few of your beginners course videos, I see why I’ve not had the best results. I bought Kato clay which may be too stiff for a beginner and takes too long and too much effort to condition. I also think I tried to condition too much at a time. I am going to follow your suggestion of buying a couple of brands and experimenting. I also realized that I didn’t let the clay rest properly between steps. And I didn’t polish the beads thoroughly enough. You have so many great tips but my favorite is the bevel cut trick. ~Darla-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy, I am new to polymer clay and designing or creating different types of medium of jewelry, and I must say I am truly loving the ability and all the possibilities of working with polymer clay. Your beginner course videos have truly helped me understand that even I can create with the gift of the way you describe and direct me on creating wonderful pieces. In the beginner lessons you introduced me to different ways to accomplish what I am wanting to create. Such as mixing, creating, shaping, firing, sanding, buffing, gluing, tumbling, and a finished product. // I also look forward to every Friday video. I have learned to create beautiful, not a lot of effort beads that fit in my time frame of doing what I love to do. Since joining I have purchased almost all the back issues, created a color mixing spreadsheet, and still have not been able to do all the projects but it is on my to do list. // I might watch one of your videos several times just to make sure I can absorb what you are saying and I so love the fact that I can replay the videos as much as I want. I truly like the fact that we can purchase the back issues because I get to learn what I would have missed had I not been able to purchase them. // So many beautiful beads and techniques I have learned to do. The possibilities are endless. I really love using the future and the E6000 adhesive. You have different ways to accomplish the same result that I can chose which way I like to do things. I can now make rings of different sizes and can make faux stones at a fraction of the cost and I can also be proud of because I am the true creator and not just an assembler. I can determine how I want my stone shaped and if I want to be able to string it or place it in a bezel. And yes all of this is from watching your beginner course which of course made me more curious and expanded my knowledge and now I am ‘on the roll’. // Before taking this course I knew nothing of polymer clay except that I can mix and make beads, who knew there was a whole world of possibilities out there. Thank you Cindy and keep doing what you do best. Explaining by your mistakes so I don’t have to make any! Give us the different ways to sand, buff, finish because without those tutes I wouldn’t know which way was best for me. Regards. ~Janet-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Library

It seems like every day when I’m doing clay, something I learned from you jumps up into what I’m doing to make whatever it is easier and better, and naturally I have to think about you. Thanks again, you really make this fun. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Techniques

This is a great point. As much as I try to add meaning to my clay work, I sometimes forget that the best, most finely executed ideas didn’t just happen. They came from periods of time where simply playing, getting a feel for the clay, making mistakes, changing a technique and so forth were the bulk of time spent at the clay table. Thank you for reminding me! ~Shannon-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Making Polymer Clay Beads

You are simply stunning, Cindy. Ever since my parents gave me an opal as a present when I was 10 years old, I have loved these stones. I have always worn it around my neck, since then. I read every article about making fake ones, that I stumbled upon un till now and I never ever saw one that even came close to how the real stones look. But your faux opals really capture the deepness and the shimmering layers. I would love to see the tutorial and try it out :D ~Angelghost >> This comment was originally posted at this link: How To Make Beautiful Faux Opals

Thanks Cindy, Another great Tut! I found a catalog and started making my own earwires from it this past week. But, Your tips to use a permanent marker is great. I kept wondering how in the world did they get so round, Just the simplest things. ~Brenda-M >> This comment was originally posted at this link: How to Make Handmade Ear Wires

I ordered the Ultradome UV Resin sample, and have a feeling this is going to be exactly what I need being as my current method of finishing my cufflinks is leaving me with it not curing completely. *absolutely frustrating!* … I love reading what Cindy has tried, it’s so helpful to find someone who has tested it and can let you know if it works. @Terry Morris: I am sure since Cindy’s review, you have jumped thousand fold with orders. And from what I am reading and have heard. I will totally recommend your Ultradome product! Being as it’s easier on the pocket and us small time business owners/crafters, this is exactly what we need. ~Sara-G >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Resin for Polymer Clay Jewelry

I just started with the mica shift since watching the video. I tried to use the Fimo Effects and they don’t work like the Premo pearls do. Great technique and great tips Cindy. ~Jeanie-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Mica Shift Technique

Just in time! I was trying to find some cord ends at the bead store last week. They didn’t have anything that would work, plus everything was so expensive. Can’t wait for Friday! ~Darlene-N >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Making Cord End Findings

Yesterday I tried my first transfer onto clay. It was semi-successful but I learned and it will be easier next time. Today I was just messing around and began tearing pieces of the clay that had the image transfer and randomly applied them to some other clay sitting on my work table. Then I decided to see what they would look like if I swirled them. They are turning out beyond cool. I love them!! I guess that is what excites me most… the fun of being able to go in another direction entirely if the first choice doesn’t work and still end up with something wonderful. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Beads

There are a lot of things I like about this site, but today it’s all about TGIF and… today I have something totally different to do – something easy, pretty, and wearable. Thank you, Cindy. ~Rose-M >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Lace and Ink Technique

Great job, Cindy. I had it pretty much figured out from your photos, but you did a wonderful job explaining this wire technique. So, you have some Lindstroms too! One thing to note: When you are holding the top circles (the bale wires) with the round nose pliers – don’t hold them any more than is necessary. Round nose pliers do leave marks on the wire. It is great that you showed all the different pendants. And we could make interchangeable earrings to match – just make them small to go with the little beads that we make when we make bigger ones – at least I do. I’m always thinking “sets”. If I can make a big one for a pendant, I should be able to make small ones for matching earrings. ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Interchangeable Focal Bead Pendant

I’d certainly be interested in this surface technique! The end result is quite striking and it sounds versatile enough to cater for all tastes from classically feminine to bold and modern. ~Sue-F >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Inked Polymer Clay

The Jupiter Beads. I had trouble getting my clay to crackle, so I ran my extruded clay through the pasta machine on setting 3 (1 being the thinnest, 7 the thickest) and wow did I have the crackles! I love the Jupiter Beads, they are just so interesting! I made a couple dozen of these and took pictures of my 4 favorites. My Mom likes them too – I gave her a necklace made with one and she turned around and bought 3 more necklaces from me! She gave one to a friend who put it on a sterling chain and wears it all the time. What a confidence booster!! ~Lisa-W >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Bead Giveaway Contest

Hi Cindy. I love the Polymer Clay Faux Opal Pendent with Hammered Copper Jewelry Bail. I would love to see a video on how to make this bail. I tried to make faux opal from someone on the net but did not turn out very well. I think maybe the direction may not have been clear enough, as yours are. I look forward to starting my day reading the news letter with a hot cup of coffee. ~Barb-C >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Videos

Cindy, I’m for anything you want to teach us. Although I wouldn’t normally be likely to use galvanized steel in my jewelry, the hammering makes it look as if it could be sterling. Even if I decide not to use this technique, as Mary said, one thing sets off a creativity spark for something else. ~Linda-K >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Hammered Metal Bezels

I have been making some felt brooches for people recently decorated with tiny shop bought buttons. I am already dreaming of the possibilities of making my own far more interesting buttons. ~Cara-H >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Making Your Own Custom Buttons

Here is a picture of my faux opal pendant. I’ve gotten so many compliments… thank you! The picture really doesn’t do the piece justice as compared to seeing it in person, but I thought I’d send this along anyway! In the sunlight the pendant and ring is absolutely amazing. I use Patera bezels from Nunn Design. They are a bit expensive but the end result proves worth it. I also made a ring and earrings in the fopal and instead of the Buffalo Snow flakes which I couldn’t find I found some iridescent decorating shred (or Easter basket grass) and cut that up instead. ~Hobokenmary >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Faux Opal Bake and Bond Technique

What a difference from trying to learn something from a book. A big huge heartfelt THANK YOU for taking the time putting these videos together for all of us! ~Donna-P >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Blend and Switch Technique

You summed it up so well, Jeanne. It’s funny you mentioned your pc books – I have them, too, bunches of them. I pulled one out the other day to look something up and realized how dusty they have become. My books are and will always be treasures but I think my learning style meshes so well with Cindy’s teaching style that I depend less on written info. I’ve said it before but I love that I can plunk down in front of the computer, for the whole day if I want to and work on learning something new. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Lessons

Thanks from me for doing this Cindy, and I am sure you will get many more thanks from the newbies and lurkers out there who haven’t a clue what they are missing. I was sent your link to the free tear drop skinner blend a couple of years ago and was overwhelmed by the video quality and teaching method so joined up and have never been disappointed. ~Lawrence-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Teardrop Blend Shift Video

Thank you for the great videos you send to us each week, I have learned so much from your site that I don’t have to spend the big bucks on the books. ~Elly-M >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Diamond Pattern Ikat Cane

I have to confess, I have been played around with this technique and made 6 rings doing so, before watching this tutorial. I am one of those type people that can look at things, and almost figure out how the technique was done. I gave up on it because, I just couldn’t get it quite right. I could not get my sizes right nor could I get the band wires even. I do like the way they look though. I have to say, after watching this tutorial, I saw what I was doing wrong. Cindy Saves the day! ~Brenda-M >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Wire Wrapped Coin Bead Rings

All the videos I have seen have been helpful. Thanks for all the information! ~Marilyn-N >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Wow, what a fantastic lineup! I absolutely love canes, so I’ll admit it. I’m most excited about the Kaleidoscope cane video. I am excited to see it simplified Cindy-style (thanks for making it first!) I know I’m going to love every one of these videos, though. Gorgeous butterfly earrings, an inlay technique with realistic results, and homemade earwires to make our earrings stand out from the rest — it’s all good! I’m so happy that I finally dove in and became a member. It really is true what everyone says about the quality of the videos and instruction. I find myself excited when Fridays come, just like I know everyone else does. I only became a member last month, but I am already addicted to Cindy’s videos. I have 2 back issues already. I just watched Vol. #9 ( it features the oh-so-amazing Lietz teardrop method for quicker skinner blends, cool Mobius Beads, an awesome Extruder Mod Cane, and some absolutely adorable Trumpet Flower Beads.) There’s so much stuff here to feed creativity! Anyway, I am looking forward to all these amazing projects in store for us. Thanks, Cindy! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Easy Kaleidoscope Canes

I have been so busy the past few months with moving and Christmas and all, I have hardly had time to look at the videos. I was thinking about just letting my subscription go but I watched this video and the one where you make the roses from the polymerized fabric. Oh Cindy, you have done it again. LOL. I am all fired up again, can’t wait to try these out and am definitely renewing again. I don’t know WHAT I was thinking in even considering letting my subscription go. I know, I do have those common sense lapses. :) Thanks for hooking me again Cindy. And I do mean that in a good way. ~Laurel-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymerized Cloth Mixed Media

Wonderful ideas in this video, Cindy! I am one of those who was mistakenly thinking that a “part” was a scored section of the clay, so, whew, good to realize that is not what that meant! I had even read about taking the little squares, etc, somewhere, but that had not really transferred to my brain and I needed to see your video to realize it! I, too, like the idea of the little baggies of leftover color with the names / numbers written on the front. Organization does not come naturally to me (you should see my house — or not, lol), so this video will be a huge help to me. Still thinking about Silverleaf’s idea of magnetic chips, too, for visual help in combining colors. Can make them thick enough to write the card recipe number on the side, too, so can just snatch up the recipe card out of the box I am soon going to have when I am ready to mix up a batch of colors for a project. Super! I get so excited about these tutorials and can’t wait to get to my clay, but I am supposed to be working now, so back at it I go. Thanks again for this wonderful video, Cindy! ~Becky-C >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Mixing Custom Color Recipes

Love Love Love just as I knew I would. You always take something I already know and make it even more fun to work with. I just love your pendant and earrings. Who am I kidding I love it all. You are amazing and Doug’s filming even enhances it more. So another Grand Slam to add to my list of treasured tutes. Thank you both so very much. Love and Uuuuggggs. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Rolled Mokume Gane Cane

These little snowmen are so adorable. Cindy, you’re always on the top of my list for every Friday, even though I have soooo little time these days to do this. We are packing to move to a new home and everything is in disarray, but I do faithfully watch each video. Hope to be able to actually do some of the wonderful tutorials soon. Thanks for being there and lending a spot of continuity to this otherwise insane world that has suddenly become my life. ~Karonkay >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Snowman Beads for Christmas

Hi Cindy, I just had a chance to watch your snowman tutorial. It was darling. Thanks again for your many projects. I realize from my own teaching, demos and projects I’ve done for publications and websites the INCREDIBLE amount of preparation that goes into a production, no matter how simple it sounds. I wonder how many others out there that are on the receiving end, realize how much work is involved. Thanks again for going those extra miles (kms) to produce straightforward tutorials that are easy to follow in smoothly flowing videos. Kudos to you and Doug. Looking forward to more great tutorials.
