Once again you have read my mind! As I get closer and closer to completing my “studio” (I use that term in the most liberal sense) I find myself thinking ahead to the how’s and wherefore’s of what I will do with my finished “objects d’art” and how I might possibly make some money selling them. But before I can even ask the question, “O Great Swami Cindy” answers all! I just don’t know how you do it all. Videos, color recipes, articles, etc. What’s your secret? You can tell me. You’re secretly triplets right? However you do it, please don’t stop. You’re the best. ~Jamie-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Selling Handmade Polymer Clay Jewelry

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE polymer clay! I have always had my hands in art of some kind for as long as I can remember. I have spent countless nights awake working on project after project only to find that I would grow tired of it once I “mastered” the skill. Once I discovered Polymer clay I realized that not only are there endless projects, beads and more but I could further create by using the beads in my jewelry. So, back to sleepless nights of project after project, only now I am satisfied!!! I discovered Cindy Lietz’s website by searching for new ideas. (Since I am self-taught I have learned by spending WAY too much time online) I am so excited to have found her website! I have learned more from Cindy than I have from all of the other sites I have checked out! Her videos have been a lifesaver. ~Kim-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy! Lietz Teardrop Blend!.. what a great shortcut! I’m so proud to be a member! I have missed a lot of the excitement and I missed the video but I saw the tutorials and comments and will try to play catch up. So much has happened. I’m trying to find a time to read members and non members, comments, download colors, find treasure hunt colors and breathe. You have made my days brighter! Thanks Cindy. ~MaryEllen-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Blends

So good to meet you in person, Cindy! Through your voice I feel like I know you but with this video you’ve become a person as well as a teacher. May I say (as someone who gave everybody Fimo pieces for Christmas in the 80′s), you’ve inspired me to a whole new art form. I’m not really a bead maker, but your videos have encouraged me towards really creative uses of polymer clay. I’ve now got my pasta machine (what a difference!), my Johnson’s Klear (yes, it’s here in the UK and it does work) and a whole new approach to earrings, rings and tea light holders. (Still struggling with that Dremel, though!). Keep up the great work! ~Lore-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Meet Cindy Lietz, Polymer Clay Artist

Hi! I wonder when you have the time to think of all these beautiful and clever things, try them and also share them with us. Is your day longer than ours? Lol! I know you’re a polymer clay tutor, but…nevertheless. I love bugle beads, I buy a lot of them and besides making some bracelets or stringing them I didn’t know how to use them. Until today, of course. All your ideas are so good. Seems like you never have bad days or without inspiration, as regular people do. Or maybe you’re from a polymer clay planet and you’re here to teach us ;). Well, have a wonderful week and keep on going, I’m sure we are all keep on reading you! ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Glass Bugle Beads

Your commitment and enthusiasm for us is incredible and beyond what is available anywhere else I have come across on the internet. I came across another site that claimed “secret” of PC but the site was very what would be offered beyond what I could learn in any the first chapter of any polymer clay book and the price for the “secrets” was ridiculous. ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Beads

Thank you again for all you do, and all your wonderful tutorials. They have really helped me out alot. You are a great inspiration. ~Laurie-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tools

I’m thrilled to hear there will soon be podcasts. I can hardly wait, I can get my crafting education on my way to my drudge job, and hopefully SOMEday supplement or even replace my income with my two true loves performing and crafting. There is a saying and I don’t know where it comes from but it goes, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”. ~Ken-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Beads and Beading and Polymer Clay

Cindy: How do you do it! I mean you are so busy, blog, twitter, videos and all the great advise. I absolutely love the butterfly pendant. I am even going to try to use the ginko leaf cutter to make some butterfly pins. Your brain must continue working and spinning even when you sleep. Or do you sleep? As I said as long as you continue I will follow. You amaze me every minute. Thanks again for all your talent. You are a true artist. Truly inspired. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Making Projects

I discovered Cindy on line one night, not realizing what good fortune I discovered at the time. Cindy offers “anything” and “everything” you could possibly want to learn about Polymer clay. Plus, if for some reason you need a little more info on something . . . just email her, she will answer you right back. It’s amazing how dedicated she is to all of us. Her videos are well done. I agree, her videos show you close ups, at the right angle, and at a good speed with great detail. I also enjoy magazines and “good” well done instructional books, I have a vast collection on many art mediums. Written materials provide me with inspiration; I enjoy seeing what everyone else is accomplishing. I have found great joy in having my laptop in my studio. My large desktop computer stays in my main office, but my 12″ Apple laptop takes very little room on my work table. I can look at printed PDF’s, or DVD’s, or enjoy Cindy’s web site. Everything is at my finger tips. Great question Cindy, as per usual. Thanks again. ~Debbie-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Bead Video Lessons

Thanks for such a great blog. You are my best resource for my questions. I frequently look up things from older posts to see if you have already answered my question. What an angel you are for doing all this work so the rest of us won’t have to? ~Bette-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Signed up for the tuts this past Friday, just wanted to say thank you … you have a great teaching style, and a good camera person.
Cindy – I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for the hours that you spend with me in the wee hours of the morning when I am watching your tutorials. You need to branch out into more wire work and chain maile as you are a wonderful teacher. I am intrigued by all aspects of jewelry and need to find someone who is as great as you, to teach other things as well. Glass bead making…LOL. Thanks for all your help! ~Karon-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Beads and Jewelry

Boy, you learn something new every day from this site. I have never heard of this product. I googled Friendly Plastic, Maureen, and supposedly Hobby Lobby carries it. I must admit that although the Friendly Plastic poppies are cute as a button I like the ones you made using PC more, but that is just a personal preference. I would love to see what creations you come up with combining the two products, Cindy, but would not want to move too far away from pure PC tutorials. I have so much to learn!!! ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Friendly Plastic Beads

Thank you for teaching me soooooooo much!!! I come back every day because I know there is always something else that I can learn on your site that I missed the last time around. Hey, Teacher…you can give out homework to me any day!:) ~Cindy-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Making

If you have done nothing else Cindy you have made people stop and look at the world around them. This fast paced world that we live in, does take up to much of our time and then we ask ourselves where did the time go. My motto is Stop, Look and Listen. Look around you and enjoy the beauty from with in, and think to yourself how can I create that beauty into a work of art. Create something to show other people there is still beauty in the world and if your art work can make people stop and say that’s nice, you have accomplished what you set out to do. I think that is why I have so much fun with Polymer Clay. ~Sandra-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Canes

Oh my gosh, that is excellent and exactly how I am feeling right now!!!!! I too love to make poems but this one takes the cake!!! And now I want to extend my thanks for all of your hard work you put into this site!! I know it is not easy and you have other things on your plate and I never want you to think we take it for granted!! You are a fabulous polymer clay artist and I am always amazed at your tutorials, thank you again. ~Heidi-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

I am amazed at your blogs! How do you find time to write it all?!! I’ve been checking back thru your older articles and love your stuff Cindy, God Bless You for doing this. So very glad I found you. Kindest regards. ~Marion-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Projects

Cindy’s right, we all have our own ways of doing things and our own preferences for particular techniques or materials, and that’s a good thing. I love how Cindy gives us a technique and maybe a suggested colour palette and we all go away and create something that ends up very different from everyone else’s, because we all put our own spin on things. It’s very cool. :) And then we can learn from each other too! ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpey III Polymer Clay

Thanks Silverleaf! My goodness this is a great community. I have asked that question to polymer clay manufacturers and not one has answered me. I appreciate the help. I’m going to test as you suggested. And I’m going to keep reading this blog!! ~Jackie-T >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Large Polymer Clay Beads

How right you are about you having encountered the problems and worked out the bugs for us. I can’t wait to try making canes. Yes, right now it looks hard to me, but when it finally works, it goes from just being a lump of clay to a work of art. Yes, I too have seen stuff on E-bay and have wondered at some of the probable frustrations these artists have probably had to endure. Can’t wait to try my hand at it though. With your hints, helps and techniques, like my best friend often reminds me, I don’t have to reinvent the wheel, since you have already invented it! Thanks. ~Karen-O >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Canes

Hello Cindy, I really enjoy your site so much. I found it by a happy chance of luck!! You have inspired me to pick my clay again as I follow your recipes and projects with your very explanatory videos. I have learned so much! Is there a chance in the near future of showing us how to do the rose canes I see everywhere? The ones with a gradient of color in and around each petal section? I have tried to make these on my own, and it still eludes me. Thanks again for the hard work you put in to pass on your talent. ~Debi-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Tutorials

Your letter of “Thanksgiving” was very loving, and so touching… To me, it’s always so gracious to be able to pray a prayer of Thanksgiving, for all of our Blessings – my life (after this past September) is what I am Thankful for this year. My summer with my Grandchildren, one of whom is Autistic; the other with Attention Deficit, and my Sweetheart stuck in the middle. She is my budding artist, and we have so much in common (including working in clay). So, I do understand where you are coming from. It sounds like you have a nice life, and I’m very happy for you. I pray that this new year of celebration will grace you with another year of the best. In any event, you are a very nice lady, and karma speaks volumes. … Thank you again for the new things that you placed on hand. I just loved looking at the gold/silver/copper leaf information, and plan on doing something with it … Just finished weaving a gorgeous Lauriat and Earrings. Was thinking to myself, wouldn’t this look great with one of my own created clay beads attached to it (once I learn)! (I’m dreaming, but it will come to fruition!! Actually, the pendant on it can be utilized two-fold — as a brooch as well. I AM SO BLESSED, AND YOU ARE TOO!!
I do declare!!! I think you got it absolutely right!!!! I am so excited and can’t wait for all the new goodies coming our way!!! Take a few moments and give your hubby a great big ole hug for all the work he does for helping you and us… like staying home from the bead show and working on the tutorials….what a guy… :0) ~Pamela-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Bead Making Challenges

Dear Cindy, I’m an early riser… usually around 6 am. The vast majority of people I know are nite owls which presents me with a little problem. I’m out by 10 pm no matter what. I can always depend on you to be there on Friday morning with your excellent tutorials. You are there to keep me company until the rest of the world wakes up. Thank you so much, Cindy. ~Helen-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Thanksgiving Wishes

WOW… this blog is unbelievable!!!!! I feel sorry for all the people that are missing this website. Cindy and Doug, I wish I could think of a different, really great word, that hasn’t been said about the both of you. I’ll bet that no one has started a website from really very little to what the both of you have done, with such precision. I just can’t believe all of this. Look at the size of this website, NOW. The both of you are really loved by many. God bless the both of you and your children too. KEEP GOING GUYS – YOU ARE THE BEST IN EVERYTHING YOU DO. Love Ya. ~Helen-S >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Beads

Wow… you’re way ahead of me but you have given me inspiration to get going on my resolutions for this year. I am excited to see what great ideas you have planned this year. I have enjoyed it thus far that this year should be “double the fun”. Thanks again for all you do. ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutor

As a fairly new person to polymer clay, I have found the Polymer Clay Tutor to be an invaluable resource. I do subscribe to the member site and am glad to do so. Others with more experience may be better able to navigate all the information “out there”, but I too found it all to be overwhelming. Cindy’s courses and videos are well done, start with the basics, and then build as your skills increase. And, as another person said, it’s all there in one spot. If you have specific questions, Cindy is very prompt to answer questions on the blog or in separate emails. For me, the cost of membership is well worth what I am getting! ~Marsha-N >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Techniques

Kat, thank you so much! Your response was way more than I ever expected. You even watched the video – you are wonderful!! I thought this was just a blog but I now intend to sign up for Cindy’s newsletter and watch some videos. This is an awesome site for help. Thanks again for all your wonderful suggestions. ~Michele-A >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Beads

Cindy – Polymer clay continuously fascinates me. Just when you think there is nothing new to see, a new technique, ever beautiful, comes along. Thanks for keeping the excitement going! ~Maria-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

You sharing folks have been vital in giving me hope for the future, financially. I’d like to see as many opinions and experiences shared as the thread will hold, LOL! ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Learn How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

This is a wonderful article! And I love the video about She Beads. I can see that perception and “telling a story” really does help sell beads; I’ve seen this in action on Etsy. I am gathering all of this info, with the hope that I can put it to good use when I’m up and claying again. Thanks again, Cindy, for all of the amazing, informative things you throw at us day after day! You are one tireless teacher (and we love you for it!) ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Pricing Handmade Jewelry

Your kind words encourage me Phaedrakat! I am thinking polymer clay more and more. I looked at a mural the parents and children did today and thought… ooooh I could see that in clay. I do have my camera. Once I get the sandpaper and finish them, I’ll take a pic. Cindy, you really are a part of the process for folks finding their inner creative souls. My creative inner one is peeking out with both eyes, smiling shyly and learning to let go. You’re a gem. ~Trudy-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Inclusions

Isn’t the internet an amazing thing. Not only can I use it as a learning tool but also find kind friendly people with the same interests as mine. I started collecting pc making tools years ago but was so afraid to try making anything. I had a stack of print outs from online research. And I watched the Carol Duval show forever. Finally, last fall I got the itch to start and stumbled on to Cindy’s tutorials. Wow, did that make a difference in my confidence. From then my daughters all started asking me if I would make them jewelry. From there others asked to buy some of my pieces. I have Cindy to thank for my new hobby. ~Carolyn-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Lesson

Cindy I will support you anyway I can! I always “talk” about you and what it has meant to me to have “found you”! LOVE this group I have found! Love the “tut” teacher… was positively “AMAZED” when I emailed her way back at the start and received a personal reply in MINUTES!!!! She cares, it shows and she is wonderfully appreciated in this clayers heart! Keep up the great work! Also love the blog. Love the way you all share!!!
I sit here reading your thoughts and seeing your work every day and think how wonderful and creative you all are. I sometimes look at a block of clay and wonder what I am ever going to do with it. Then Cindy shows us a fabulous tutorial and off I go. Lisa is a great e-mail friend who helps me by letting me vent over my mistakes. Phaedrakat is a God send helping me to learn how to link to Cindy’s blog on my Flickr page. Don’t have it all together yet but will soon. Then I can let you all see my work.
I love the variation you offer Cindy. It is great to not only get polymer clay techniques but also ways to help use your creations. I love the polymer clay bit of jewellery making, but often struggle to turn it into something interesting to wear. Your tutorials help me with this. Always looking forward to my Friday emails.
Another brilliant tut. You make everything so easy… even something like this that looks so complex, and I love your method where things don’t have to be too precise or perfect! – Maybe I should just quit my daytime job so I could have enough time to try out all the techniques I have on my ever-growing list! ~Susan-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Easy Kaleidoscope Canes

Now why didn’t I think of that? You make it so simple. It seems so obvious now! But, that is why you are the best! I got to try this tomorrow.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Cindy is really good at the whole constructive criticism thing. She’s always explaining how to improve pieces in a very positive way – the same points made differently could easily sound very negative.
FRIDAY FIX: Hi Cindy, I can’t get my video to start this week. It says on the screen that it is buffering?? Please help, I don’t want to miss a week! Thanks Cindy! ~Stephanie-B // Not working for me either! I’m in the US on DSL (not AOL) (Cindy’s sleeping right now, most likely) It’s the middle of the night for her. ~Phaedrakat // Cindy the video is not working I am panicking my Friday morning thing is not happening oohhhh what will I do please help! ~Ritzs // No video for me this morning, either. Like Beverle my video screen goes black with the comment “buffering video” in the corner. Will we survive this delay in getting our Friday morning video fix? ~Elizabeth-S // It’s hard to believe how addicting these videos can be. The panic set in when I couldn’t receive it. Hope to see it soon. ~Carolyn-K // Sorry for that little glitch guys. You can thank for Doug for the fix. He always seems to know how to solve these minor technical annoyances so that you guys can get on with your claying. Because after all, that’s what life is all about LOL. Happy (Polymer Clay) Friday everyone (…Saturday down under in the Land of Oz). ~Cindy-L // Yea!! I’ve got my video!! ~Elizabeth-S // Mine is working now too. Thank you Cindy. ~Ritzs // Thanks Cindy! I can have my Friday fix..
Peggy Barnes – That is so very sweet of you to offer to send some Buffalo Snow Flakes to those who were not able to get to find any. You are another example of how wonderful the people in this community are! Someone else has already generously offered to send me some (thru Cindy – thanks again!!!). So I’m all set. There may be others in need though and I hope they take you up on your thoughtful offer. These Faux Opal beads are just too beautiful for anyone to miss out on.
Cindy, I was a proofreader for 13 years so that’s how I picked up the date. I tend to lose track of the days and thought I had missed another great tutorial. Fridays are now my favorite days of the week!! (And I will definitely be renewing my subscription.) I can’t say enough about how much fun and inspiration this site has been.
On your main mica shift pendant you have some type of ring thing at the top that your jump ring goes through. Is this some kind of metal ring or is it also made from clay. If it is clay can you tell us how you did it? If it is metal please explain that. I really like the finished look of this rather than the jump ring going through just a hole in the pendant. Thanks for your help on this. If I missed it somewhere, please let me know that also. You are great and so responsive. There is tons of stuff on the web about polymer clay but it is so good to have just this one place to find the answers and very clear instructions. Thanks! ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Mica Shift Pendants

Hi Everyone, This Christmas is definitely different than last years. Here I am sitting at my computer 5:30 in the morning with my coffee, anxious to see what’s new. This past year has been full of up and downs as most of you know. But looking forward every Friday to Cindy’s wonderful Videos is always the first thing I do. She is such a kind and wonderful teacher. I know she probably does not realize how important what she did for me was. I know it made the difference on whether or not to unpack my clay or give it away. I am happy that I did not give it away. Well things are starting to happen fast here with me, and its due to the support and kindness of Cindy and every single person in this community. So if anybody reading this has the opportunity to become a member please do so. You will not regret it. I am truly lucky to have found this site. So Cindy thanks again and Happy Holidays to everyone. :-) ~Jackie-N >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Community

Hi Cindy, I really enjoy your videos and the way you explain things. You have inspired me to try different things. I am new to polymer clay so really appreciate that there is some online teaching available as there is very little in New Zealand. I feel more confident thanks to you. Kind regards. ~Jo-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpted Rose Beads Tutorial

Hi Cindy, I read all the messages you send and I’m sure you get tired of hearing this over and over, but I can’t express how much I like getting my e-mail saying that another one of your videos is ready for viewing. I received the one about making the clasps, and I thought “no-no-no I want you to teach me polymer clay, not metal work”… but as usual, I watched it and it contained extra information I had not thought of and hadn’t learned in the class I took. I thought the same about the texture video… “I don’t use those and don’t like them” but after watching, I got all these other ideas that I could do. I checked out the Tim Holtz site mentioned somewhere in your site and got new ideas about stenciling and inks! Thanks so much for making these tutorials… they are definitely worth the money! ~Kim-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

That was fascinating. You have a lovely teaching technique that does not come across as patronizing or, at any time, like you were talking to fill time. Each stage seemed clear and concise.
Cindy, I have to say I love your site and your lessons. Not only do you have a fantastic base of knowledge but it gives me inspiration and motivation to continue. I was an art student as my first college experience and then, out of necessity for a living and a stumbled upon calling, I went into nursing. Now I work 40+ hours, evenings and weekends (when most of these classes take place) so I was unbelievably discouraged because I had no connection with other artists, especially when my main medium was oil on canvas. Then one day my mother was in town and somehow I decided I would make beads for her jewelry-making hobby. She bought me a pretty good amount of clay and some supplies to start me out… of course I knew nothing about PC or bead-making but I had determination and the internet. That was 11 months ago and now I have you and all these fabulous people. I can’t tell you what it means to me, my techniques have improved, my motivation is out-of-this-world, and now I feel connected to others who have the same passions. Thanks. ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Continuing Education Craft Classes

So glad you are ready to show us your faux raku technique. It will be a pleasure to see how this is done. Thanks so much for all the time you put into this website.
I am constantly amazed at how much you put into this blog and into your polymer clay life Cindy. Blogging takes a ton of work and trying to do videos on top of that?! Do you have a twin or something? I have to tell you that I come here daily – yet I haven’t finished that sewing project (who knew it was going to be sew (on purpose) big?) Because of it my clay sits waiting patiently – unused – the oven never even turned on – my laptop patiently waiting to take me step by step through my tutorial once again. I am chomping at the bit here to get at this – so coming here to read what I can do makes me sew faster! Thanks for everything you do Cindy. You are an inspiration. ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Bead Videos

Hi, I frequently go back and read previous posts and videos. I sometimes do a search on Google for a technique and guess who always pops up.
Cindy, I found out recently that I’m not the only one who belongs to your long list of followers. I belong to the Arizona Polymer Clay Guild and at one of our meetings a few months ago I told them about cleaning clay with a paper towel and alcohol and that I read it on your site. There were at least 5 other people who said they also belong to your Polymer Clay Tutor website and love it. Thanks for your helpful hints. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Too Soft

Hi Cindy, I’m enjoying and learning from every tutorial you do, but right now my learning curve is making canes, so any of the flower canes would be great.
I, like Ashlyn was making jewelry with beads that I would buy, new and old, sometimes I could not find the size or color that I needed. While checking around on the internet I found your site and some others that helped me get started with polymer clay. I found making my own beads very relaxing and satisfying.I bought some polymer clay how to books, always looking for a new technique to try. My favorite thing is to find some antique beads for inspiration and make my polymer beads to accentuate the others. After giving away several necklaces I decided to try and find avenues for sales. ~Werna-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Creating Your Own Jewelry Beads

Wow, that was awesome! I have been playing with the idea of purchasing your course and the weekly videos, and now I’m convinced that it will be worth it! I’ve been wanting to play with clay for awhile, but am a little afraid of it. I SO want to make some of the flower canes to make the trumpet flower beads.
Just like Peggy said in a previous comment I had been looking around here for quite awhile, not realizing there is so much more for you when you really join. So I joined only a few days ago, and like Peggy I found Cindy to be on top of everything and couldn’t do enough for me, and yes I feel I have found a like minded friend in Cindy. As you say Peggy I don’t know when she sleeps, because as soon as I had emailed her she has come back with a reply which I needed to know about even tho we are in different time zones. How she does it all I don’t know I am so glad I have joined and have already made use of the content I have in my paid for videos. I have a Makins Extruder and am having fun with it as I had only used it warily before now I’ve got beautiful mod canes I didn’t know I could do. I have been Polying for about 4 yrs on and off , but being here has made me want to focus on becoming really good at what I do and with Cindy’s on going tutoring I sure will. It is so much better to see the videos and see how someone else does things. Thank you Cindy for being who you are and having such a passion for Poly clay and inspiring so many people. Keep up the good work I cant wait to get to the computer every day now. From another Aussie down under Madly passionate Polymer Clayist. Thank you Cindy. ~Elizabeth-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads How To Videos

Wow, the tuts have helped. I wanted to do advanced things with PC and had absolutely no knowledge of how to work with the stuff. I had just started experimenting on my own and was trying to watch youtube videos but I have found everything I need in this one location and for a reasonable price. The books aren’t very clear and the videos on youtube are hit and miss. I took the beginner course from Cindy and will now start viewing the library videos as well. Still need to mix colors better. Thanks for all the nice comments.

I’m thrilled to have found your course! I had played with polymer clay for a short time a few years ago but set it aside. Your course has helped to ignite a passion, and I’m very grateful for the work you put into it, along with your blog and your library. You see, I had a stroke in 2001. I’m okay physically, but the depression can really get in the way. One day in February was unusually warm, and I decided to go out and run a few errands (which is sometimes difficult when depression rears its head). I stopped by our local Barnes and Noble to have a cup of coffee at the café, and of course I had to find a magazine to read while enjoying the coffee. PolymerCAFE jumped out at me. Reading it caused me to feel something I hadn’t experienced in a long time – enjoyment! When I got home, I googled polymer clay, and found your course. Cindy, I’m hooked! I’m a rank amateur, but the passion is there. This feeling – being passionate about something – is one I haven’t experienced in many years, and your work has played a big part. I simply cannot thank you enough. Serendipity is always such a wonderful surprise, and that’s what happened – the warm weather, the magazine, your course. I never expected any of them, but together they have set me on a course that I’m thoroughly enjoying. What I love about your course (and your library videos) is your wonderful down-to-earth, chatting-with-a-friend attitude. Your depth of knowledge comes through, but it’s in a quiet way that I appreciate. It leaves me feeling encouraged, not intimidated (as many experts often make me feel). Thank you so much for being there! ~Linda-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

The fruits of all your efforts are definitely paying huge dividends for the PC community.
Cindy I love all the styles you come up with and they all seem to resonate with me, as with your reader/fans. I want to do it all and am constantly looking for new ideas and methods for my beads. They don’t have to be fancy or difficult, just different and fun! To create one’s own style can put you in a box, and I am always looking outside the box to find that different twist, to an already used or not concept. Curiosity, Research. and just awesome imagination is what it is all about! You Rock! and we all get to Rock along with you. Thank you for your dedication and wonderful sense of humor. I wake up each morning wondering what you will come up with today. Miss you on the weekends. LOL I always feel like you are my New Best Friend and I know you so well.
Cindy, this is such a wonderful post, I was really touched. It is because of talented people like you who take the time to teach us and continue to explore, that I have been able to grow as an artist and professional crafter.
This website is the real deal… Cindy and her husband Doug go out of their way to ensure we have a positive experience, and get an amazing deal for our money. You can ask questions and read about upcoming videos (or past ones!) here at the blog. There’s a search box at the top of each page… helps to find information. Just about every subject has been touched-on at least once! This ‘community’ has become pretty close over the past couple years, so occasionally you will find comments of a personal nature. For example, when someone has a surgery, or a ‘big’ anniversary. There’s also “polymer clay humor” sometimes. ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Learn How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy. Geesh I’m all blushing and stuff that you used my comments in this article. Thank you. But every word I wrote is the truth. If I was asked right now what tools you would need to get started in polymer clay? I would have to say that besides the pasta machine and some clay. The best tool you could have, and the best value for your money, would be a membership to the Polymer Clay Tutor and your wonderful tutorial library. I cant say it enough. Where were you 20 years ago when I started with this stuff? LOL. You’ve even taught this “old dog” a few tricks. Gotta love that!
OMG!!! I cannot believe someone would make that comment. Your work and videos are high quality and I am sure they take a LOT of time to make. Maybe she was looking for step by step directions but so much of that is already out there. Your techniques such as pinching the cane over the end of a paint brush or use of bugle bead in the middle of a mobius bead are not out there. And, you are posting DAILY, not weekly or month. Your daily blog articles are always high quality, not something thrown together and always get me thinking in a different direction. I am so sorry someone sent that feedback. Really, how much more could you offer!!!! ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Beads Beading Polymer Clay

I love your videos Cindy. You probably don’t hear that enough. I used to send out Microsoft Office tips every month and I would get maybe one comment every 4 months. I would hear from the same people all the time. It would have been nice to know if people liked or used the tips. I’m sure I will be using yours.
Hi Cindy! It’s hard to keep up with you, you are publishing one article per day :)). I think that your site will become soon a real polymer clay encyclopedia. I enjoyed a lot the pictures of your crackled faux raku beads, they must be wonderful to touch. And the gingham lentil is just beautiful, I’ve made that kind of cane some time ago, the pattern is called a Vichy cane on the French blogs. I’ve never thought of using it on a lentil though. Regarding the cube beads… I have made very few until now, they seem quite difficult to mix in a necklace or it’s me who don’t have the skills. Otherwise I like to make square canes and there’s nothing more appropriate than a square cane for a cube bead. The more complicated bead shape are lovely but time-consuming, especially the sculpted ones. So I mainly stick with the round beads and lately with some tubes. I don’t know about which kind of beads I would like to read more, all you’re writing is always very useful. ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Square Cube Beads

A great thing about these videos and comments (well, one of the great things) is that you can get answers from the other commenters as well as Cindy. I’m off to make some rocks! ~Cheryl-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Pebble Beads

Just finished watching this video for the third time. I am still learning new things! Watching Cindy work reminds me of watching the old black and white Julia Childs’ French Cooking TV series from PBS/Boston. With Julia and Cindy, they show the good, the bad, and the ugly, as it happens live. It just comforts me so much to watch experts have similar problems to mine, and to watch them work it out to a beautiful finish. You could have edited the video to leave out some of the metal foil sticking to the rollers or how difficult the transparent clay was to remove from the paper backing. But by leaving it in, it adds so much more. It gives me confidence. You have beautiful hands Cindy, and I love the way you pronounce “clay.” LOL! ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

I think this is just about the best advertisement you could get Cindy! I agree with Laurel that I have learned so much from your lessons. I haven’t tried the image transfer yet but have all the materials to do it. Now if I could just figure out how to add a few more hours to my day. ~Arlene-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Image Transfers

I love your online videos and look forward to them every week. There is no way that I wouldn’t renew my membership. Look forward to future postings and new ideas. Apart from more caning advice which will be covered in upcoming courses, (that I would definitely buy) I would love to learn how to make more flowers in the future. I love the flower jewellery of the 40′s and 50′s, especially the vintage Japan and West Germany beads and necklaces.I think if you know basic technique then you can experiment and perfect a certain style. I am definitely learning techniques from you and am successful at the new things that I am learning. That is a testament to a very good teacher. So thanks again- all the best. ~Cara-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Stone Beads

I highly recommend Cindy’s site. I am a member and the videos and recipes are worth the fee. Maybe there is information for free on the net but you have to have the time to sift through all of it. Cindy’s tutorial comes to you and they are very easy to follow with a wealth of information. Cindy always takes the time and is very prompt answering any questions and helping which you will not be able to get through any of the other free info out there. ~Pereira-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Extruder Mod Cane

Hi Cindy: I view your site as my own personal polymer clay guild as I am not able to get out to join one that is local to me. I truly appreciate being given the opportunity to be a member of your “club”. Thanks so much for everything that you are doing. I am learning so much more than I ever would on my own.
I’m new at polymer clay but after encouragement from Cindy on my blog I got up enough courage to start playing. Color has been fascinating for me.
Thank you for sharing that tutorial. It brings up so many ideas! As a beginner, I am so grateful to have found your website…and all the help you put out there for us to have access to.
Cindy, You have completely inspired me and boggled my mind all at the same time! Whoa!!! Is it really possible to make a cane like this beautiful Johnny-Jump-Up flower!?! Well, wonders never cease! If I can learn to make a cane anywhere near as beautiful as this, then the world is truly my oyster (hey, I could probably make an oyster too)! I know that I use a lot of exclamation points when I comment, but, Cindy…I am soooooo excited about all of this new found knowledge that I am receiving from you!!! I think you must be a polymer clay angel sent from above :) ~Cindy-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Cane Designs

I love your description of the sunflower against the blue sky. As a Kansas born girl, well, old lady now, I know that sunflowers are the lifeblood for people – especially women. Where ever I have gone, moving across the Good ol’ United States, I have planted sunflowers and provided black oil sunflowers for the birds. The color palette for the petals is brilliant and so creative. Your experience in mixing the clay colors is desperately needed by me – an old lady beginner! Now I want to figure out a design incorporating the black oil sunflowers … so the birds have something to eat as well. Thanks for the best website on polymer clay I have ever found. At last – I am learning something. And the treasure hunt is just plain fun, although winning would be even better! ~Pamela-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Mixing Recipes

Thanks for blogging about this Cindy, this subject seems to come up in other forums. Its true some people are having a time with the new formula of clay which now conforms to the law. Not all translucent clay are created equal and the lack of color tend to make them more squishy to, but some clay brands like ProSculpt who makes a translucent clay are not meant to be used for canes as they crack and separate from the colored clays making the canes barely usable. Love your videos and your blog now is on my favorites to!!! Thanks. ~Andrea-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Canes

Hi Cindy! I will be definitely joining you with this new venture, and am thankful that I tripped across your website. The tutorial I purchased was unbelievable, and very insightful to me. I’ll be back to it again on the weekend. It offered so much information, that most people don’t share — even when someone pays a fee for it. So, thank you for being so generous with your knowledge. Cindy! I found so much useful information in that purchase, and know that my mind (at this juncture) needs a reminder. In any event, you are a shot of adrenalin, and I’m sure a lot of people are learning from it all. Ta! Ta! Cindy, you’re top banana! I’ve dealt with a lot of people on the internet, and trust me — you are beyond fair! Sincerely, ~Diana-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Video Polymer Clay Tutorials

I’m new too! Cindy, you were one of the first websites I hit on when I first gathered up my tools, clay and paints I already had. I would still like to get a few inks that is designed for clay. When I had trouble watching your free tutorials, you got back with me right away. I was excited and you were patience with me. What I like about this adventure with you and everybody is it’s a nice size group and you don’t get lost in the crowd. I have seen other sites and some are informative but you’re right. Bad videos! Even If you were to buy a tutorial, it doesn’t seem like there would be any feedback like you do. Thanks again for your help, Cindy Don’t work to hard, remember we’re just passing through. ~MaryEllen-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Recipe Cards

First of all, I want to thank you Cindy again for all the help you gave me and how patient you were when I had some trouble with my username and password. Well I’m all squared away now and very happy with my charter membership and am enjoying all the videos I couldn’t get access to before. I occasionally feel like I need some inspiration at times and these videos and color recipes are definitely useful. I encourage everyone who hasn’t signed up yet to do so – it really is a great deal. Plus Cindy is very prompt at answering one’s questions/concerns about this addictive medium. ~Maria-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutor Library

Dear Cindy, Your stuff is great and you have such a sweet spirit. Thank you. I also wanted to commend you on your business savvy.
Cindy, Thank you for this post. I consider myself a Newbie, because I have only worked in polymer clay for a month or so. But I have been crafting, drawing, painting for all of my adult life (30 yrs or so, you do the math ;-) I find that I am bringing all sorts of skills to my new found interest, a knowledge of color, design, other techniques that have worked in other media. But I don’t know the ins and outs of working with polymer clay. This is why I find your site so helpful. I don’t have a lot of patience learning through mistakes and it really helps to “see” through videos how to do something. And, although I feel I have a lot of knowledge in other areas, I feel intimidated by asking simple questions of experts. So I guess this is a long way of saying how I feel you hit the nail on the head! ~Sue-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry Heart

Cindy. You give so much of yourself, and you deserve so much praise and kudos!!! Your blog is so very helpful and inspiring to me.
Hi Cindy, I just recently discovered your web site and I couldn’t be more excited. I have always dabbled in artistic projects but just discovered polymer clay a few years ago and fell in love with the medium. I bought a few books, which I’m crazy about but nothing compares to your wonderful tutorials. What an incredible way to learn and what a generous soul you are for sharing your wisdom and incredible talent. I get so excited every time I get your emails and almost get overwhelmed because there are so many techniques and projects I want to experiment with!! LOL. Again, thank you for all that you do and share with the rest of the artists in the world. It is greatly appreciated. All the best. ~Jonathon-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Image Transfer To Polymer Clay

Hey Cindy (otherwise known as the mother theresa of polymer clay…lol!) wow… how great to find your website!! I have been stumbling around in the dark… excited yet frustrated. Now I will just be excited with all this info and help on your very high quality site! THANK YOU!! ~Peggie-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Finishes

Thank you for your help, I really like your website; it is one of the only helpful online resources for artistic-typed polymer (no phony baloney stuff). ~Laura-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tools Techniques Instructions

Cindy you make it seem that creating canes can be so effortless. I love what you do, and how you put into words the instruction for others to follow. I love the colors of flowers in nature too, and I think that those colors in that one flower in this post are amazing. Colors are always inspiring, but your videos and instruction really make me want to think outside the box. Thanks! ~Andrea-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Cane Designs

I have an Amazon Kindle and when I can’t sleep, I turn it on and browse your polymer clay blog via Bloglines, where I’ve added it to my list of blogs. My husband knows so much about polymer clay now, because I’m constantly relaying what I’ve learned. :D I made my very first set of beads over the weekend, from a cane. Oh. My. Gosh. How do you spell “addicted”? I used three layers: black/white/silver. I’m in the process of making a bracelet. You have inspired me to really dive into this. Wow. It’s a creative blast! ~Bonnie-B >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Pendants

Hi Cindy, I really enjoyed the video. You have taught me so many things in such a short time since I have subscribed to you. Thanks again for all your instruction, you are such a great teacher and you cover all bases as you teach. ~Ifama-J >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Inclusions

Thanks very much for the bonus videos. This site has turned out to be like a friend who shares my interests. ~Rose-M >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Sand Polymer Clay Beads

Oh Grace, Kat was so right this is such a friendly group of people and I also hope you can join and soon. You don’t want to miss out on a moment of learning here. Cindy and her husband Doug are a Dream Team and give their all and ask so little in return. So much for so very little. Not a selfish bone in this couples bodies. They know so much and share it all with us. If you have a question I promise you someone here will answer it for you. Everyone is so friendly. We are one big happy clay family. I for one am so grateful I found this group the only regret I have is I didn’t join the minute I found it. Wow Ethiopia how wonderful to be able to visit with people from all over the world and all have one thing in common well maybe 2 for me. The love for clay and the love for this clay family. Hope to hear much more from you in the very near future. Uuuuuggggs (the painless hug). ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Large Polymer Clay Beads

Love this article on mixing colors. I am brand new in polymer clay (not just mixing but polymer clay in general). I have been totally confused and not sure at all about what I am doing with it. Just reading this color mixing, to me, has been like finding a treasure chest! How creative and artistic you must be, to be able to figure out these color combinations. I only hope I will have the gift of combining and knowing how to figure out the ‘right recipe’ for this fun stuff! Thanks. ~Karen-O >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Mixing

Fascinating!! Where do I get an extruder? I have so much to learn!!!
Hello Cindy, I really have enjoyed your site so much. I found it by a happy chance of luck!! I have learned so much already that I have picked my clay back up and started to follow recipes and projects with your very explanatory videos. Thanks again for the hard work you put in to pass on your talent. ~Debi-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials on Video

I truly enjoy your methods of teaching immensely, and you are so (NOT) intimidating as you bring a person through step by step. This is a blessing in disguise to a majority of us, especially when you are my age (64). Thank you for your Patience, and also for your Great Work!!!! Your beads are gorgeous, and have to try some marbling too. They make gorgeous round disks! Will have to do some experimenting with my clay, and check around for some of the goodies you were using. For myself, being an artist is such a Blessing, and it has encouraged me through some difficult times. It is great therapy!! Thanks again!! ~Diana-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Photo Transfer Tutorial for Polymer Clay

I love your website and want you to know how much you have helped me. I am a newbie and would still be lost without your lessons. I think that charging for the website is only fair and you are doing all the work and I am benefiting from it. I am always willing to pay a fair price for lessons that help me become smarter or more efficient.
I’m looking forward to spending some time making those calla lilies Cindy. And btw – thank you for all the work you do helping us. I know I would not have been able to accomplish what I have done in such a short time if it weren’t for you and your tutorials and generous help. Thank you. ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

I held out for quite a while thinking it was an additional expense I could not afford. Finally decided that an extra $9.95 was not going to break me and I’m so happy that I did join. It is sometimes the little things you do that make your projects look so much better and Cindy gives us all her tricks of the trade. I’ve made buttons before but never made them using Saran Wrap over the clay. What a difference. Another favorite was using the Adirondack inks for the Jellyroll Cane. Nice to have another use for my craft supplies. I would urge anyone to give up one movie a month, or one magazine, or anything else that equates to about $3.50 a month and join in the fun. I’ve been following your site for quite a while now Cindy and thank you for being so generous with your free advice. It must give you a sense of great satisfaction knowing you are helping others enjoy their craft. You are much appreciated. ~Janet-A >> This comment was originally posted here: Leopard Cane Tutorial Video

Being a member on this site is the best thing I ever did. ~Helen-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Making Tutorials

I’m really enjoying the videos and the blog, feel like I’ve signed up for a bit of info and instead have received a wealth of knowledge in return. With the ideas generated by the members (such a supportive bunch); of course everything you’re offering from basic practical tips to beautiful, current techniques… I’m truly inspired and feel so fortunate to have come across your site. Thanks again for the wonderful teaching tool you’ve created. You share your knowledge in such a professional, yet warm way – the care you take in what you offer your members is highlighted through your sense of detail and attention given to every inquiry. This has been just what I needed, what a great experience! Bye for now. ~Danette-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay

I wish I could borrow the creative part of your brain for just a little while so I could see how your mind completes one beautiful idea and then morphs it into something completely different in the blink of an eye. This came to you while you were cleaning up your work space no less! Since we can’t get into your head, you will just have to keep those creative juices flowing and continue to allow us to be part of the magic. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Butterfly Jewelry Pendant

Ditto. This has fast become one of the few things I must do every morning. Coffee, email, Cindy’s polymer clay site just to see what’s new… sometimes I don’t even do the email.. just coffee and Cindy to calm my hectic whirlwind. Cindy Lietz’s talent, know-how and willingness to share it all, combined with this supportive, inquisitive group of artists, new and old makes an incredibly unique, enjoyable, need-to-have-in-my-life place. I can’t thank you all enough! Fabulous!!! Terribly interested to actually see how someone else makes a flower cane… especially you Cindy. Incredibly excited about the graffiti beads… trying to figure it out before tomorrow but just can’t seem to do it. I know that as soon as I see you do it, it will seem just so easy and I will smack my forehead and utter the proverbial “duh”. Until tomorrow! :) ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Graffiti Beads Flower Canes

Cindy – I must tell you that I find it thrilling to be in touch with you personally – it is like having an audience with the Pope! ~Susan-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Fossil Shell Beads

Cindy, the best thing about your site is the continuing support. If I try one of your techniques and have a problem with it, I can just ask questions here and I know they will be answered. Everyone’s so willing to share their experiences and advice and ideas. It’s awesome. :) ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Fundamentals in Polymer Clay

Cindy, I think it’s awesome how forthcoming you are here with the disclosure. You’re such an amazing lady; a genuine inspiration in your work (beautiful quality), your hard work (the sheer quantity), and your work ethic (such an honest, go-getter, who helps everyone despite juggling so many things)! Wait, work, work, and work? Luckily, you also get to play, play, play with clay! Yep, I know. The last part was dumb, dumb, dumb! My back needs to feel better soon so I can get out of bed and DO something! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Bead Jewelry Making

Sarah – whilst there is no question that you would benefit from subscribing to Cindy’s videos, in fact if you spend a few hours (yes a few hours) on the site you will find you will learn so very much. I recommend, too, that you not only read the comments from the community, but also contribute with questions, because without a doubt any learning problems you have will be answered by community members or indeed by Cindy herself. What I have done, whilst not purchasing the videos regularly, is to tell as many people as I can about Cindy’s site in the hope that they will buy from her. That way you help her whilst she is helping you. ~Penny-V >> This comment was originally posted here: Glow in the Dark Jellyroll Cane

I just recently fell in love with drusy stones and have been trying to figure out how to make faux drusy stones out of polymer. I love the way they look like the crystal color is bursting out of the stone. I would love a tutorial on that, along with the other faux stones. I really love your tutorials and look forward to your newsletter every week.
Cindy, like everyone else here, I find your innovation and originality astounding. You keep coming up with these fantastic ideas! It’s a gift.
Gosh! Thanks all. I am glad you liked my stone and glad you liked the tutorial. I didn’t even know Cindy had spotlighted this. I have to chuckle though because as Cindy can tell you. I really haven’t been doing this all that long either. About a year and a half. That’s how fast you can get good with Cindy’s excellent instructions and all the wonderful support from all the great members on here.
Well you sure got me! I think my heart is still in my stomach! That was a good one though, You definitely had me going. I hope you never decide to stop teaching, you have an incredible gift for it, and with all the books I’ve purchased none of them come close to explaining things the way you do. I know I’ve said it many times, but I’m gonna say it again, Cindy you rock!!! ~Tiffany-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutor Cindy Lietz

>> Wow!!! What a great idea. It’s wonderful especially to hear from all of you when our pieces are featured in the spotlight. Praise and critique is good. It’s very encouraging and most of all we are learning from each other. Cindy, you are an absolutely fabulous teacher; not only with the wonderful, clear way you impart your knowledge but also the encouragement and the motivation you give to all of us.
