I love all of your tutorials, although I am usually late in trying them out, as I live in Argentina and I can only get my tools and supplies by ordering them online in the US. Just seeing all your clay together (not to mention those beautifully ordered drawers) made my mouth water!. Thanks for bringing polymer clay techniques so clearly to those of us with no possibilities of taking face to face lessons! Please keep them coming! ~Malena-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Videos

AUSTRALIA: Dear Cindy, I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to do your online bead course. My problem was that I was overwhelmed by all the reading material available and unable to translate the information into action. I was in a frustrated state of inaction. In Australia there are very few good polymer clay courses and they are expensive. Books do not show you exactly how to do things, just because the amount of pictures available are limited and the subtleties of technique are omitted. Your course however is invaluable. Your manner of tuition is the best that I have encountered. You are clear and concise and not a bit patronising. You are very generous because you give a clear message that these techniques are achievable and you encourage experimentation. I have you there 24 hours a day on video, so that I can recheck my methodology. I am not anxious about experimenting and now I can’t stop. I just finished a beautiful set of beads using translucent clay stained by dehydrating and grinding up the stamens of tiger lilies. To change the look again I added a drop of red food colouring. I couldn’t believe that they worked out so well. My next experiment is with waxed crayon as per your weekly online course. Mosaics are my ultimate goal. There isn’t enough hours in the day!! I look forward to your weekly lessons and will gladly subscribe to any course that you offer. Thank you again. ~Cara-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

UK: I understand that because PC’s not a mainstream thing here, magazines feel they have to feature beginner-suitable projects, but as Cindy shows, there are a lot of easy-to-do projects that DON’T look like a 7-year-old made them. ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay UK

PHILIPPINES: Hi!!! It’s my first time sculpting with clay – Thanks Cindy – Love the site!!!
CHILE: Cindy; I will try with the epoxy resin. But I must wait until I go to US in June. Here in Chile they don’t sell it. After that I will tell you how it did worked. Thank you. You always help me. I’m so happy to follow with your classes. ~Rosita-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Projects

SOUTH AFRICA: Hi Cindy. Have you ever thought about bringing out a book with some of your projects in? Like a step-by-step book? And also, why not think about making a dvd with some of the projects? I will be the first to buy both. That would really be fantastic. Just a thought……. Thank you for everything you do for our Polymer clay artists, I have learned so much from you already and always look forward to Fridays. Thanks.
FINLAND: Hello Cindy, Thanks for the videos – watching makes such a difference. There are so many ‘how to’ options online, but most are confusing images and text only. Youtube is great but many cannot get the real info over. This system is great. Clever you for doing it! A great way to earn on the internet too! I wish I knew enough of one subject that others want to know about… to do something like that myself! Merry Christmas from -26c snowy Sodankylä, Finland. ~Michelle-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Library

AUSTRALIA: Here in Oz… there are no classes I’ve found except one in Melbourne (bit far to go!) and one in Marrickville for mucho $$$. I’m in Nelson Bay but get to Sydney now and again. Thank goodness for Cindy’s tutorials. ~Mary-U >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Jade Polymer Clay Technique

UK: Well Cindy its a great tutorial I have a batch in the oven as we speak, I used the glowing jelly roll cane to add some colour and I cant wait to see what they are like, and with it being soooo sunny in the U.K today they will look great I’m sure cant wait to show off my new necklace, thanks again for being such a good tutor!!!! ~Angela-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Hollow Polymer Clay Beads

SOUTH AFRICA: I just want to thank you Cindy for this tutorial. It was super fun and easy to do. I’ve made various items with my cane, like the Butterfly Princess (added on our Facebook page), and some pendants, which I will add as soon as the pictures have been taken. I am new to this group, and am still trying to find my way around; thanks Cindy for your patience and guidance. I am from South Africa, I believe here are other South Africans, too. Would love to connect with you. ~Lorraine-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Butterfly Wing Cane

NEW ZEALAND: I am in Katikati, just north of Tauranga and it is another warm day here in the sunny Bay of Plenty! I love Cindy’s tute’s I look forward to every Friday and Saturday (time zone’s a bit of a pain) with great expectation and have not been disappointed yet! ~Sandra-J >> This comment was originally posted here: Gingham Cane Extruder Project

ITALY: Dear Cindy, I’m really enjoying your videos! You’re a great teacher! I discovered a lot of nice tips and tricks I didn’t know before and I’ve only seen a few of the videos I bought so far! Ciao and have a nice creative day! ~Alessandra-P >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

INTERNATIONAL: It sure is fun seeing the entries in this “contest”. It is so inspiring to see what can be done with just a few techniques. I am really motivated now to try the torn watercolor beads. The Jupiter beads that everyone entered are just beautiful. Couldn’t pick out a favorite! It just makes me wish I could play with clay 24/7! Cindy, thanks for doing this!
IRELAND: I have almost the same experience as Laura. There are no classes here in Southern Ireland so I had booked one in London at the price of £125.00. After finding your website I canceled the London flight, London hotel and London class (a saving of almost 500 euros). And I decided to learn from your site and spend that money on lots of the tools you suggested. So now I think I am just brilliant and I feel like an artist – which I am most certainly NOT. After work every day I cannot wait to get my fingers going. I have found my passion in life and I await your Intermediate Course. Your videos are well worth the few dollars you charge! Thanks for all your help that I needed last week. ~Angela-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

BRAZIL: Hi Cindy. The way you put this Kaleidoscope Cane tutorial was absolutely great. I have no words to express the joy I am feeling to have learned a so beautifull technique and intimidantly looking as you have said, in a so simple and smart way. Thanks from Brazil. ~Monica-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay

SOUTH KOREA: Hi Cindy, Your videos helped me make necklaces and bracelet and give as presents to my friends. They were amaze that I can make a beautiful accessories out of clay. Thanks a lot.

UK: Just been reading all the comments about fav tools and since I signed up with Cindy a few months ago I’ve been adding to my collection. (No more new shoes for a while, boo hoo) … But I think my greatest “tool” is my subscription to this unique site. The videos are the greatest (even I can understand “how to”) and if I get it wrong I can go to my library and pull out the one I am having trouble doing and start again “even at 3am when I cannot sleep) … The BLOG – I “waste” hours reading all the tips and tricks from members old and new. Going back to when Cindy started. The UK members are really helpful in knowing where to buy and it is great to read comments from members from all over the world. I’m sure Cindy wouldn’t be surprised to get a membership request from an Alien from outer space. (That would be cool!!). Man from Mars or woman from Venus?? Not sure if they could get the supplies though?? Cindy, just want to say, what a brilliant idea to set up this site. I’ve still got a lot to learn, including using my lap-top, camera etc. but know I will get there one day!! So in the meantime will get back to “sorting my stuff and getting organised. Looking forward to CF (Cindy Fridays) ~Elaine-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Favorite Polymer Clay Tools

AUSTRALIA: Cindy, I am really enjoying your weekly videos. Your video techniques are perfect – everything is explained clearly and your hands stay away from the camera so we can actually see what you are doing. Thanks also for the colour recipes – I haven’t tackled them as yet, but they give me great ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. I just love working with the clay and still have so much to learn. In fact, where I am in Victoria, Australia, there are not many who work with the clay. I have sold about 15 of my pieces privately and am thrilled to admit that recently, a lady has asked me to display my selections in her clothing shop. I am always looking forward to your tutorials and can’t wait to try all the new techniques. Thanks so much again. ~Liz-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library Back Issues

ITALY: Dear Cindy, How nice to hear from you! I am from the UK but have lived here in Florence Italy for almost 27 years, am married to an Italian and have two bilingual boys. I find that Italians are not particularly into crafts and I often have a very hard time explaining just how I use polymer clay to make beads! I have enjoyed doing various crafts over the years from rock painting to cross stitch but polymer clay has now become my number one passion and I love making beads, jewellery, keyrings etc. etc. I have three of my best fans and critics living right here with me so I can’t wait to show off the new techniques that I learn from you just to see their reactions. I am full of admiration for what you do and the online community you have created and am so happy to have found you on the internet! With all best wishes. ~Susan-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay in Italy

BELGIUM: I’m from Russia but live in Belgium now. I have a painful skin disease called Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa. When I’m working with polymer clay I can forget for a while about the pain and itching. I live in Antwerp but I was born in Uzbekistan in Tashkent city. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. Thank you so much for that. I appreciate what you doing!! You give people the chance to learn and be creative with polymer clay! I can read a book, but it is not the same. Your videos are very instructive and inspired for me. I’ve made a few roses from Volume 013. And I love them. ~Alexa-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Stress Relief

PHILIPPINES: Thank you so much for the response! I live in the Philippines. Claying is a growing but already popular way of earning around here (there are a number of inspiring stories to learn about clay business), but I’ve only started around 2008, and even then cheap Sculpey was difficult to find. This certainly won’t be the last time I’m coming around here. ~Patricia-P >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Polymer Clay

INDIA: Cindy – hai, thank you so much for your your great course. i got it quickly. your way of teaching was wonderful. now i came to know more about polymer clay. After watching your videos i learned my mistakes. The beads which i made was improper and dull. when i put holes in the beads, i lost the shape of the beads. i am a house wife . i am from southern part of india (kerala). actually i don’t get any polymer clay here. when i visited malaysia, i bought some polymer clay and bead roller and pins from there. my both brothers are in states. They are coming to kerala for a visit. so i informed them to bring polymerclay and the basic tools from there. But i am not sure in america where polymerclay craft material is available. I want to make pendants, beads etc., and also i want to make it as a good hobby. hope in future also you shall help me with your great and valuable suggestions. once again i thank you and your great course. after becoming perfect in beadmaking and pendants i shall follow your other courses also. thank you…have a nice day. ~Geetha-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Pendants

COLUMBIA: Hi cindy I live in Santa Marta (Colombia) until last year known polymer clay and I loved it, I can not get here, I contacted a lady in medellin and she sent me a small order, I made black clay beads and irregular silver leaf and I were very beautiful necklaces I make but I really like working with my own designs of beads and pendants, as this gives exclusivity to the creation. I would like to get your videos, like I can do?
GERMANY: Yes, I not the problem also in Germany. Everybody knows Fimo, but this is a “kids product” nobody would think that we prepare a kind of art with this or a similar product. The German translation makes it cheap because it is associated with plastic. The people means “this is cheap and comes from China” (very bad connection). Sometimes I tell the people that I work with “Artist Clay”. the germany words for Artist (Kuenstler) and synthetic (kuenstlich) have a similar pronunciation in german. Have a great day. ~Janine-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Translation of Polymer Clay

FRANCE: What a great idea, it would be wonderful to receive some of the beautiful beads we can see in your tutos and blogs and so… even if the picts and video are so perfect, to be able to feel the finish, colors and everything in real would be a dream. Thank you again for this idea, and thank you for the great work you do for us. ~Nathalie-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay International

SOUTH AFRICA: Wow Cindy! That is all I can pretty much say in this instance. My eyes have been opened to the possibilities of working with polymer clay. Who could have thought that you can create beads and pendants in this manner? I really love my dichroic glass, but there is a lot more scope using your techniques. Attaching clasps and drilling holes through the glass is taxing, as opposed to doing it with moldable and malleable clay. Now the challenge is to source materials here in South Africa. Have you considered doing international mail order of the raw products at all if there is a big enough need for it? I really love your work and am thoroughly enjoying your website.
CHILE: Dear Cindy. I´m chilean last saturday my country Chile, suffered a very big earthquake, and then a tsunami. Many small towns were many poor people lived, now is destruction. If you watch international news, you can understand of what I´m speaking. We need help, to reconstruct my country. People need everything. You are in touch, to many polymer clay friends. I would appreciate if they could help us. Every body can do a donation through Red Cross International for Chile. Thank you and everybody. ~Rosita-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

CYPRUS: No way to fool me Cindy! You know in Cyprus everybody is doing that on the 1st of April. Even the newspapers! I was sure it was something like that!!!
MEXICO: Hi Cindy receive regards from Guadalajara Mexico, I´m so happy receiving my weekely tutorial, I´ve done beautiful things. I think that no one else do this down here, I don’t know anyone who works with polymer clay to make beads, in fact ther is only one place where I can find polymery clay and it is sculpey III which I know is not the best to work with, but is has worked ok. ~Marcela-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Contest

ENGLAND: Wow! This is both simple and brilliant, I can’t wait to have ago with this technique! This the first time I’ve wrote on here I don’t get any time in the day as I have a 3 year old and a 22 month old, so I have to wait until they’re in bed! Thank you for all your encouraging words of wisdom! I have ordered some uv dome resin and oven, but it will take a while to get over here in England! I don’t have all the shops you mention over here, thank God I’ve got the net!
NEW ZEALAND: Another Happy New Year to everyone from hot summery New Zealand! Sandra, it’s nice to know there’s another Kiwi in the group. Where are you? I’m in Dunedin.
FINLAND: Lovely technique. One which I will certainly make use of… being that I live in Lapland, Finland – within the Arctic circle… and am ultra lucky enough to witness the Aurora on a frequent basis. My husband sees it even more than I, as he is willing to walk our dog Dexter deep, deep into the forests around us, very late at night, which is when it is best seen… especially when it is super cold outside. In fact, he sees all sorts of unusual sky happenings, when he is where it is so dark and unaffected by social lighting. This year in particular, the sun is very active and so the aurora is also so… as it relys on the suns magnetic activity and solar winds, to show up well. It goes in cycles. For all those that want to see it… it truly is worth trying to get to see! It is indescribable. Thank you for this Cindy! ~Michelle-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Aurora Technique Polymer Clay Tutor

NETHERLANDS: Cindy – Your tutorials are very clear and every time you manage to come up with a new technique. Now I realize it even more. And very important Cindy; your new technique, the aurora technique. I like it very much, you know last week I was looking at photographs from the Northern Light and I was thinking; I like to make this with polymerclay.
BELGIUM: I’m a member to your weekly video tutorials and i have just purchased the beginners video course. This by the way is an excellent learning tool!! ~Debbie-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

EINDHOVEN, NETHERLANDS: I am Romanian and moved to Netherlands 5 years ago to study. I discovered polymer clay this year in March and since became addicted. I am married, have a full time job in a technical domain actually, and I use clay as a creative outlet, it helps to fight the daily stress. I am lucky because my husband is very supportive with clay work, his hobby is photography and the pictures I sent you and on the website are made by him. I discovered you and your wonderful lessons early this summer and this event definitely gave a boost to my creative efforts. Only recently, I had the courage to make my clay work public and I am very grateful for the support you offer. The Polymer Clay Tutor is such a warm community and so nice to be in. I was not very active in this community, I admit, but I do read all the blog and all the comments :). I tried everything: watercolor beads, flowers, book beads (these are very lovely) but my all time favorites are the raku beads. You are such an inspiration! … I am only a beginner and am very anxious to hear what the members of this community will say about my work. I mean this community has seen a lot of polymer clay work. So far I created jewelry only for myself and give them away as gifts. Lately, my friends were telling me that I should try to sell them but I am not sure. I would try that I am afraid that I am biased because they were made mostly for myself. So I would appreciate any suggestions to improve my work. ~Ileana-B >> This comment orig posted here: Selling Your Polymer Clay Jewelry

DENMARK: Cindy, I am from Denmark and discovered polymer clay last summer. I’ve always loved colors and wanted to create something, but I didn’t know what. I tried sewing, knitting, painting – it was fun but not quite it. Polymer clay has become a passion – an addiction. Never before have I been so engrossed in a craft. Then your “Puffy Bead” video arrived and fired my imagination even further! Thank you for all your inspiration! Now, I always look forward to your Friday videos!! ~Hanne-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Puffy Beads

FRANCE: So true Cindy – the journey is often a long one full of stunning objects which we often take for granted.
SOUTH AFRICA: Hello Cindy, What I can say about your tutorials, blog etc, is you are very dedicated person, very helpful, very professional, “unfortunately” I can not found something bad, so you can improve on that. Also, business-wise, I believe you are using all the good methods for the products too. So, just carry on as you are and you will be as good as it can be :) I am sure this did not help you much, but, if you know more about me, you should take this as a extremely big compliment, because I just don’t take BS, and you will have mouthful if you are not nice and helpful as you are. Way to go my dear, thumbs up! Best regards. ~Srdjan-R >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

ITALY: Hi Cindy, sorry for being slightly late with this reply. I have to take turns with the rest of my family with the internet!! I enjoyed the “Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course” very very (moltissimo!) much. You’re great at explaining Cindy and all your advice is valuable. Thank’s for sharing your “secrets”. Consider yourself responsible for a new “polymer clay addict”!!! Just one thing Cindy, in your email to me what does “my neck of the woods” mean?! Sorry my English doesn’t recevie many updates as I live in Italy, but it’s great to learn new expressions! bye ~Kathia-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Learning Polymer Clay Techniques

BRAZIL: I am pursuing a way to make beautifull swirled beads. I can shape it nicely to a bicone. I can even start swirling but I frequent have to stop it before I reach the point I would like to. Somehow I feel that I will damage my bead or that I can not phisycaly swirl it anymore. >> Next DAY: I just watched the Vol-001-1 video and I was glad to have bought it and immediately I found where my mistake was!!
PORTUGAL: Hi Cindy – Let me ask you a doubt that hapen to me whem I did this earings- my translucent clay was Fimo that I used and it stay after I baked full of white spots, horrible. Do you think maybe it was the oven temperature, I used the correct one that is in the package or it was air that stay on the clay? Maybe you can solve my problem. Thank´s. ~Cristina-O >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

NEW ZEALAND: I make a lot of buttons, and I believe they hold up very well to washing, I’ve never had any complaints. I recommend not to iron over them (the heat might scorch them) and I’ve heard you shouldn’t dryclean them, so I recommend that to people who buy my buttons, just to be on the safe side. Use a brand of clay known for strength, and bake them long, I do for an hour. Make sure the holes are big enough (you can enlarge them after baking with a drill bit) and not too close together, or the bridge between might be weak. To all you with snow – it’s hot here in New Zealand. ~Jan-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Buttons

MACKAY, AUSTRALIA: You gals are way ahead of me. I have just watched the actual Spoon Bail Tutorial which has just come in to me about 6pm Friday night 26th here in Australia. Don’t know how that comes into it for your time zones. I presume most may have seen the Tut, but I want to say, what an interesting Tut. Whether I will be doing this one re finding the right spoons and the right equipment re the vice, (which I gave away after my DH passed away) (I always liked that vice too) He always seemed to be able to do something I wanted on it. Anyway I’ll keep it in mind if something comes up that looks like it needs that sort of bail. I enjoyed seeing you Cindy with all those spoons, you looked ready for lots of work. You see a collection like that in the Op shop stores as we call them you would never even think how useful they would be in our Polyclay work LOL, so I will look at them in a different light from now on. Think it was one of the most interesting Tuts in a long time. Not that all the Tuts aren’t, but that did just take my fancy a bit. Thank you so much. Will see what I can do, when I can do’ Love. ~Elizabeth-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Silver Spoon Jewelry

GERMANY: Dear Cindy, Thank you for your great color recipes. It would be great to get blank cards for my own recipes. It this possible? Helpfull hint for european fans…. to match A7 index cards set wide (Breite) on 11cm. This works perferct with A7 card boxes.
SINGAPORE: Hi Cindy, Until I retired 4 years ago I had never done anything creative at all. As a retirement present my husband bought me a computer. Little by little I learned to use it and while searching the web I found card making sites. So then I started to make cards for family and friends. Two years ago I went to Australia to visit relatives. As the flight was so long we stayed in Singapore for three days. I found the most beautiful jade beads, and my new passion was born. I collected many beads whilst there. And when I came home, I began to make jewelry just for fun. Again whilst surfing the net I found your site, and was amazed at all the things you were able to do and how you were so enthusiastic about poly clay. So I went and bought some and joined your community. And as they say… the rest is history! I am not intending to sell anything, I do it because I love it and I am happy to give them away to friends. What an adventure, and what’s so wonderful is that its on going. I look forward to each new tut with anticipation every Friday, just like a kid in a sweet shop. Thanks so much for this fantastic community that you have built here. Long may it continue. ~Carole-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Jewelry

INTERNATIONAL: Peggy – I agree 100% about the support group. I am not sure I would have made it through those weeks in the hospital without the loving, caring, praying support I had from right here in Cindy’s group. Cindy, you have definitely created something more than just a clay blog! This is a group of people who truly do care about one another – and from all around the world! What more could we ask for. Thank you, Cindy, and thanks to ALL of you. I’m doing much better though I still need the walker because of the muscle weakness. I’m eating real good – dessert first – Life is too short to leave dessert ’til last! ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Zebra Cane Animal Prints

PHILIPPINES: Hi Miss Cindy, Just had the time to say something about the beginners course I purchased. I learned so many things and it was helpful for the workshop I did here in the Philippines.
CANADA: Cindy – Thank you so much, for such helpful, info! I have made polished stone jewellery before, but polymer clay is so much easier and faster.
DORSET, UK: I feel like Meg Ryan in ‘When Harry met Sally’, shouting Yes! Yes! Yes! The Magic Glos arrived yesterday … how’s that for timing? … only for me to discover that we no longer have a UV lamp because I couldn’t see a use for it, and had forgotten I’d got rid of a few years ago. Soooooooooooo, piece duly made, baked and tidied-up and oo-er, now what? Risk the English sunlight? Nothing ventured and all that. It worked. Late afternoon, direct sunlight and the faux dichroic pendant is glassy and solid and looking every bit as good as a first attempt at a new technique has a right to be. I’ll post a link to my blog when the batteries on my camera etc… you know how it is… Fantastic tute again Cindy. Thank you. I’m going to like playing with this one.
ETHIOPIA: This is Grace from Ethiopia, I am sure I must be the first person to comment on your blog from Ethiopia. I would like to thank you for your cheerful attitude towards the newbies like me and your encouragement (which sounded very sincere to me, that is why I am writing :) ~Grace-Y >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Large Polymer Clay Beads

CYPRUS: As biochemist I work for the ministry of Education and Culture. I finish also an Art School in Athens. I’m teaching stained glass, mosaic and handicraft to the Adults Education Centers. I have for this year 150 students every week. Last July I started the Cyprus Polymer Clay Association. Now the association has 63 members and still growing. I teach Polymer clay for 4 years now and Silver Art Clay for 1 year only. My book will be ready next year in English and Greek. Thank you for your video library. ~Maria-A >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Mixing

NEW ZEALAND: Hi Cindy. I really enjoy your videos and the way you explain things. You have inspired me to try different things. I am new to polymer clay so really appreciate that there is some online teaching available as there is very little in New Zealand. I have attached a couple of pictures of things I have made from polymer clay as I feel more confident thanks to you. I made a cane using the a clay gun and covered a wooden frame that has a picture of my grandson. I started making miniatures just for fun and enjoy that too. I think it is amazing that you answer emails to you as you must be so busy. Thanks again. ~Jo-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Success Stories

SINGAPORE: Hi Cindy, I’m watching the Vol-009 videos now. It’s great and learnt a lot from your video. I’m from Singapore. Right now i,m learning how to make flower from soft clay. Also some deco like mirror, wall flowers from soft clay. Thank you from Singapore ~Samad-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Flower Colors

AUSTRALIA: Hi Cindy & greetings from South Australia. Thank you, thank you, thank you. As a newbie clayer & ‘fly by the seat of my pants’ kind of gal, I found the precision measuring of the traditional skinner blend more than a little off putting – although the results are beautiful. I had most trouble with cutting the angles of the triangles. Your new method is VERY exciting, & I have just altered my plans for my day off today, to include some experimentation of your technique. So once again, thanks for your generous sharing of knowledge & want to say how much inspiration I get from your wonderful site. Cheers. ~Sharispice >> This comment was originally posted here: Tear Drop Method Skinner Blend

GREAT BRITAIN: So glad to have found you all. Claying isn’t as big in Britain as it is in the States, don’t quite understand why but then neither is patchwork and quilting (another of my passions). I’ve spent months researching polymer since I stumbled upon it and I visited your site loads of times before I took the plunge and subscribed. I’m really glad I did you’re the best! ~Polyanya >> This comment was originally posted here: International Polymer Clay Artists

GERMANY (NORTORF): Thanks Cindy, I’ll give it a try. My hometown is north of Hamburg, called Nortorf. Its my 1st try with sculpting and its huge fun :) So I guess future work will come. Do you have a gallery, where works can be shown? ~Faber-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Polymer Clay

INDIA: Thanks so much for your reply and info about polymerclay. iam from India. iam a beginner in polymerclay. still iam much interested in learning more about polymerclay beads, pendants etc ~Geetha-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Polymer Clay Pendants

ITALY (MILAN): Cindy, Many thanks to you for your valuable lessons. Please pencils are wax? And the pasta is translucent or white? Thanks, embrace. ~Mariangela-P >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Inclusions

BULGARIA (PLOVDIV): Phaedrakat, thank you very much! I am from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The thing that helped me most was your advice. Before typing the question i have read them all except one (where there is an explanation about piercing especially lentil beads, holding them in special position in your hand) and the funny thing is that i searched exactly this one, as i remebered that once i had come across this advice, read it quickly and said to myself that i would get back to it when i start making lentil beads. But meanwhile i did not find my attempts at piercing round beads very satysfaing and i decided that it might help now. I always feel that i should withdraw the needle if it goes not straight and begin piercing from the other site, and make the two paths meet but for some reason, i did not do it. It is different when you read it. ~Nevena-S >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

DOHAR QATAR, GULF, MIDDLE EAST: Dear Cindy, I am very much impressed by viewing your polymer bead making and the good efforts taken by you. I would like to learn more about bead making. Kindly sent me all the details as a beginner. I will do my best to learn from you since I have an intrest towards this. I do flower making, metal embossing, etc. I live in Middle East (Gulf, Doha Qatar). Awaiting your response by return. Thanks n Regards. ~Rini-P >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Jewelry

BRAZIL: Hi Cindy! I really really love your free videos. I live in Brazil and, sorry, my english is very very bad. I just want to say to you how much I think about you, your profissional polymer clay art. I loved it. I know you are a very very good person spiritually and multiplies knowledge. We need people like you in the world. Kisses. God bless you.
ROMANIA: Hi, Cindy! I have no particular comment for this post, but I visit your site from time to time and I just want to say thank you for all the good advise you’re giving to your readers, it’s impossible to read what you’re writing and not to find anything helpful. Like that alcohol ink recipe I’ve just read and I’m looking forward to try. And so much information. I always find your site by google-ing for one technique or another. You are so generous sharing your polymer experiences with us. Keep up the good work and God bless you! ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Flower Beads

I tried to pay for the membresy but my card was unable to be verified, is that a specific problem with my card or is it that no one outside the us can join your page?
RUSSIA: Cindy: thank you for the wonderful idea of this posting and for the chance to discuss it internationally! :) // @squash: I know what you are telling about, nobody ever seems to understand millefiori. Even if they understand after a long explanation :) they ask: “why take pains and do all thi stuff instead of just painting?” 8) // @Janine: “Artist clay” sounds good but not in Russian, I am afraid. Besides, then it resembles “art clay” which is completely different thing // @Lindsay: those who know all about it understand the brand-names, those who don’t, in any case require explanation, after which they call it plastic. This is just a matter of attitude towards man-made materials in general and polymers also // @Maria: Thank you for your wonderful ideas!) ;) // To everyone: the problem, as I see it, is not in the word (or finding the right word) but in people’s perception. Besides, polymer clay is a new medium, very attractive and giving good quick results (compared to usual clay or lampwork or whatever that takes much more time and effort). That is why many people try it for just having fun. We have a joke in Russian that only the laziest haven’t tried to make orange slices. So people see these funny-made-by-everybody-designs and don’t treat polymer clay seriously. So my idea is to rise the level of artiness :) (if I can call it so), that is the quality of idea, design, of the beads themselves. And it was really a pleasure “talking” ;) to all of you! ~Larissa-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay In Russia

PORTUGAL: Hello! Thanks for all the advice! Love them all and we learn very much! Have a nice week. ~Maria-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Recipes

BELGIUM: I’m a Belgium polymer clay fanatic and I use Fimo because it is the cheapest option for me here at the moment.I buy it in a Belgian webshop where Fimo is the only polymer clay available. I do know a store nearby where they sell a clay called Pardo, but that is a very expensive clay. I would love to try other brands but then I would have to order in the US and the shipping costs add up to an amount that a student can’t pay sadly. ~Dominique-O >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Europe

UK: Hi Cindy, Thank you for your excellent video newsletter. It is so nice to receive such an exciting email every week. I have played with polymer clay for some years but am now keen to make it a serious hobby and improve my techniques. I have recently started making polymer clay beads. I am based in the UK. ~Cara-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Newsletter

WALES: There is nothing I can add to Elizabeth’s words so i won’t even try as it is just how I feel too. It’s like having an extended family in every country. Love to you all. ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Community

FINLAND (SODANKYLA): Yes, getting out there more often is what we all need…sadly polymer clay is not a buzz word up here in Finland… but who knows.. maybe thats to come. Here it is needle felting, wet felting and such like. I like those too but love polymerclay. The downside for me is the lack of craftshops here, I have to buy fimo over the internet and can only buy VERY expensive Cernit and Ive found that way too soft. Still.. if EVER you are in the Lapland region of Finland… give me a shout! I am not a shrinking violet either! :D PS.. Are there any other site members here from Finland?????
SOUTH AFRICA (JOHANNESBURG): Dear Cindy, First time posting here, I must say, you are incredible, professional and very friendly. I already bought some programs from you, as I am very new in Polymer Clay, and I have funny problem. Whole day I was looking for cornstarch, and everyone was looking at me, as I arrived from another planet – I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am sure it is called differently over here, and “impossible” question will be, can you, or someone else help me, with some description or some way, to find cornstarch? Best regards. ~Srdjan-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Beads on Cornstarch

J’apprend beaucoup à voir les videos, même si malheureusement je ne comprend pas ce que vous dites, puisque je ne parles que le français. Merci beaucoup, Françoise [GOOGLE TRANSLATION: Hello, Thank you very much for your mail is very nice of you to make me enjoy his videos.
SWEDEN / HOLLAND: I am a Dutch woman living in Sweden with her family. There is not much to buy here for bead making so I have to search the internet for that. I will look into the video’s to get improved!! Thank you so much for your reaction. We give workshop in Sweden for spinning and dying wool. So I thought of making row counters for the contestants with their name on it. I wanted to make beads and write the letters on it to form their names.
RUSSIA (URALS): I’m from the Urals, European part of Russia. As for my city, there are only two rather small shops that sell polymer clay, but actually nowadays it’s not a problem to visit one of the many Online stores and order some clay. I guess, our city is having a boom of polymer clay new born artists, but I can hardly call anyone a unique designer. It’s a quite understandable situation, as everyone is trying to satisfy the wider possible range of needs, they reach more perfection day by day, but no uniqueness. To my mind, uniqueness needs more braveness not to be appreciated by some part of the audience. As for me, I started my experiments with clay in October of the last year, but I changed it for felting in April, because of the same issue of not 100% natural material. But I guess, I’ll return to it in a short time, as it’s a curious material worth attention. The biggest challenge for me is that issue about the chemicals in clay. Most people live in blocks of flats, so you sometimes can’t arrange some artist corner for yourself with a separate oven. In summer the balcony is good, but in winter its too cold. ~Marta-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Premo Polymer Clay

WALES: Just to show you what I have been doing as its nothing but rain here in Wales, I don’t feel guilty playing in my work room.
NETHERLANDS: Hi Cindy, I just became a member and watched your video on the tribal cane making. I used the extruder before and could not clean it properly so my light colors of clay always had some dark color mixed in. What I do now is I take a baking sheet and clip of a piece of paper that just fit’s the roll that goes in to the extruder. Than I place it in the extruder and get to work. In that way my extruder keeps very clean and I do not have to worry about the colors. Just my two cents here. Have a nice clay day. ~Schakel >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorial Lessons

AUSTRALIA: I love your online videos and look forward to them every week. There is no way that I wouldn’t renew my membership. Look forward to future postings and new ideas. Apart from more caning advice which will be covered in upcoming courses, (that I would definitely buy) I would love to learn how to make more flowers in the future. I love the flower jewellery of the 40′s and 50′s, especially the vintage Japan and West Germany beads and necklaces. I think if you know basic technique then you can experiment and perfect a certain style. I am definitely learning techniques from you and am successful at the new things that I am learning. That is a testament to a very good teacher. So thanks again- all the best. ~Cara >> This comment was received via email.

BULGARIA: Dear Cindy, I would like to thank you for the 4 free videos. I am a beginner in this beautiful art and i find them very useful. You made them simple, clear, easy to understand- in one word -just wonderful! When searching the net i came across your page and i fell in love with the trumpet bead and the roses. Your creations are lovely! I am from Bulgaria. The art of polymer clay is not popular here. That is why it was a bit difficult to find and get materials and some tools, not speaking of books or guides-practically there are none :) I have in mind your wonderful offers. Thank you once again. Wish you love. ~Nevena >> This comment was originally posted here: Trumpet Flower Bead Polymer Clay Tutorial

GREECE: Dear Cindy, I have to thank you for being so generous to young clayers, I am not considered neither young nor new clayer since I know polymer clay since 1976, But I have to say how much I appreciate you people that share your experience with clay with all the world. I honour all the excellent women-teachers-clayers that during all these years exchange their knowledge with us in the foreign countries. I am the only teacher in my region, Rhodes Greece, that after a long personal journey claying I have the satisfaction to enter into one of the best private schools in Greece in a regular basis weekly the lesson-activity of polymer clay. Because the manager is a fanatic admirer of the work we do with the kids, 4rth grade up, unfortunately I can’t find here all the special tools as tissue blades and brayers and I have to order them through the net. Anyway I am so glad we had this small talk I’ll visit your site the sooner possible to see your work if you want to see mine and my daughter’s wait a little bit , it’s under construction, I’ll let you know, Thanks again. ~Helen >> This comment was received via email.

GERMANY: Dear Cindy, I was toooo late I know. Is there any chance to get the bonus recipes? I started with PC beginning of September and at the beginning I was not so vermiliar what I really need and what not. And now I know…. I need colors and of course a lot of colors, much more then Premo, Cernit and Fimo offers right from the pack. I will order the back issues within the next week, but how could I get the bonus colors. I love your side and your tipps.
BRAZIL: Dear Cindy, It was really nice running into your page on the net. I’d like to know about the classes. When I pay for them, will I have access to them as many time as possible or will I be able to view them only once?
WALES: I am fairly new to this chat thing but I love your site. It has given me so much help. Like all of you I am polyclay mad. Made tons of beads and sold some in the local craft shop, but I live in the UK or at least Wales. My children say out in the middle of nowhere. My question is I have just ordered a beach tumbler as the postage for the Lortone was too expensive. It has a plastic barrel. Is that OK? And what would be river rock in the UK. Is it the same as in the US? I have never seen any to know what it looks like. I am trying to help my pore arthritic fingers with the small beads. ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Rock Tumblers for Polishing Polymer Clay

UK: Dear Cindy, I’m Darren Carrington an Artist in Brighton. … I’ve found your site really interesting, and people like me really appreciate your time and efforts. I’m a Puppeteer my puppets heads, arms and legs are made of the old ‘Sculpey’ but you see I created my main characters of my Comedy TV series ‘Thatch Close’ way back in 2005, it wasn’t until last year that I noticed a few puppets had got slightly worn and so I began to re-create the main cast of my series, it was then that I was horrified to find none of the clay was working for me and I was nearly convinced I’d lost my marbles and couldn’t continue my aim. … However Cindy you’ve been a great help and I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks so, so I thought I’d throw some light from my point of view. ~Darren >> This comment was originally posted here: Best Polymer Clay

FRANCE: Thanks Cindy for your nice comment. It’s always good to have encouragement. I’m crazy about beads but I admire your work with polymer and I find your blog wonderful. As soon as I shall begin the polymer work ( we can make such nice things with this) I’m sure that I’ll find a great help with your advise. ~Fabienne >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Pendant

HOLLAND: Thank you for your site. I stumbled upon a blog the other day and was inspired to start making some fimo accessories. But thanks to your site I can learn step by step on how to start. Thank you for sharing! I am a homemaker and in a foreign land and it was devastating in getting a job. Anyway, I am looking for some craft which I can do from home so I have more time with my son and perhaps sell them. Hopefully this works for me. Thanks again. ~Meilin >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

SPAIN: Dear Cindy, This video for buffing it’s fantastic, very useful. But I have a question for sanding. I have seen your video for sanding the beads. For sanding a bead, how long should use every number of wet sand paper? It takes quite a long time. Minimum how many different numbers? Have I the possibility to use quicker method? Thank you for a fan in Spain! ~Amada >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorial – Dremel Tool

RUSSIA: Thank you, Cindy! I like all new things and try many new materials and technics. So your studies are very interesting for me. I try to shortly translate your articles, for those readers, who don’t know English. I see that some ideas are common and people from different places tell about one thing simultaneously. For example, we begin to use something like your skinner blend version in automn classes. It was very exiting to see your post about it! Hope we could help you too in your work. ~Emicraft >> This comment was originally posted here: Skinner Blends

JORDAN: That’s a great post! i was just asked by a clayer from jordan (neighbour ;) ) about “how to start claying” she asked me because she has to order everything online, nothing she can find in her country, so i have her the list, similar to yours, if you ask me, polymer clay is not that expensive hobby (at first anyway), our list is much shorter then other art mediums i know :) ~Iris >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Beads

GERMANY: Dear Cindy, I tried this awesome technique, too, and was impressed, how good my (german;-) baking parchment held the colour… The transfer onto the clay went easy and looked very promising, but, unfortunately the inks didn’t “heat-set” in the oven… I think there’s a difference in the inks, the printer uses. Mine is a CANON Pixma… Many greetings from Germany. ~Susanne >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Image Transfer Technique

SERBIA: I like your work, and I want to learn it. I make peactures and other prodacts from pressed flowers and leaves.
ROMAINA: We have the same problem here, in Romania. This medium is known for about one year, maybe two. We have translated “polymer clay” in two words ’cause we have two words for clay meaning the same thing. Just like French people, they are calling it “pate polymere” and also “argile polymere”. Sometimes we are refering to it as Fimo, that’s the brand the most popular here, the suppliers also bring Cernit, but it’s not so used. We are not calling it plastic even though we state that this is what polymer clay becomes after baking. Indeed it takes time to explain the properties of the clay and many of my customers are convinced that I paint the beads, the millefiori concept doesn’t seem to be understood even when I explain it. I’m very curious about what other readers have to say about this problem. ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay in Russia

SPAIN: Hi Cindy. Thanks again for taking care of us. I guess that you have a lot of people in your Guest List so if each of us answers to each of your mails you’d end up crazy. I like to be grateful but after thinking about it I realized it would be worse for you if I reply to each message. I just wanted to let you know that I don’t mean to be ungrateful if I do not answer to your mails; be sure I’ll be waiting for them anxiously. I’ve never done anything with polymer clay, so I’m an absolutely newbie in this technique. In fact my favorite handcraft is cross stitch and the only one I’ve practised up to now. I’ve created a blog to show my stuff (from 2008 on, not previous things). I haven’t done much this year but I still wanted to show it. You can have a look if you’re interested and you have time. It is and will be mainly cross stitch but I plan to post all my handcrafts there. Hugs from Spain. ~Mis Labores @ Free Polymer Clay Tutorials
