I like the “Gallery” idea very much and think it will be very inspiring to see finished pieces made by you as well as your prices (since pricing is such a tricky area). Some of my necklaces fall naturally together which is very satisfying but often I fiddle and fiddle and they just don’t look quite right. I try very hard to make asymmetrical necklaces which I think are far more interesting than regular bead-spacer-bead ones, and find that by using different shaped beads with different textures I can achieve this effect. Anyway, ideas from you for finished items will be really welcome. You just keep on coming up with great new ideas and continue to amaze me with your endless creativity! This is just the best website ever. ~Susan-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Mushroom Jewelry

I made a really awesome necklace Saturday morning that I wore to my sisters birthday party. I’d post a pic of that but my cousin confiscated it! I made the cord ends, the clasp, and wire wrapped a “BC” (before Cindy) poly clay flattened tear-drop shaped pendant. Everyone was impressed, and my cousin said “Wow, Tanya! That looks professional! I can’t believe you made all that.” That’s all I needed to hear – can’t wait to do more! ~Tanya-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Art Jewelry

I absolutely love your polymer clay art sheet earrings. I would really appreciate a tutorial on how to make them. You constantly amaze me with your creativity, Cindy. Thanks so much for all your hard work and your willingness to share. ~Beverly-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Mixed Media Earrings

These were really great! How much fun! I think it’s off to the hardware store to look for a torch for me too. I have the fine silver and copper… just wonderful info that gives me the confidence to try these things! Thank you again Cindy, I can’t believe what a great value I get from subscribing to your site. Keep’em coming! ~June-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Your Own Jewelry Headpins

Wow, Cindy, I love this new Gallery! The beads in this one are fun and they do look circusy — to carry it even further, it’s like a 3-ring circus, because you’ve got three beads on a ring. :) I am crazy over your circular clasp/bail finding. ~Linda-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Circus Jewelry Necklace

Love this!!!! Thank you oh pc guru. My dil is the wire artist here so I will have to sit her down to watch this and make me a couple. If I put the bead on a lobster hook I can change it to suit my mood… yippeee. ~Pollyanna >> This comment was originally posted here: Dangle Bangle Copper Bracelets

I don’t normally like faux agate, but I *LOVE* the beads and the colour combination in this bracelet. Absolutely gorgeous! :) ~Sue-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

Carole – Your faux opal took my breath away! It actually looks like a real opal! I am so impressed by what you made that I can’t stop talking about it to everyone that will listen. Not only is your opal breathtaking but your copper wire wrap and beaded necklace are AMAZING! What an inspiration you are, especially to someone like me who is struggling with this opal technique. I’m so happy to see that it really, really does come out right in the end. How wonderful of you to send your beautiful necklace to Peggy. I’m sure her heart will be filled with joy to receive it. It is so uplifting to see the outpouring of generosity that is the spirit of this wonderful community. Thank you so much for sharing your spectacular artistry with us. You have certainly enriched my day and given me hope for my clay journey. Keep on letting your light shine with your inspiring creations. ~Cheryl-V >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Opals

Just returned from a week of wire wrapping classes at William Holland in Young Harris, GA. Your work is just terrific. It shows off the polymer clay, like I would want to do too!
I have just made a little mushroom after watching the tut, I am going to hang it on my handbag it is so cute and I loved making it. ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Mushroom Bead Video Tutorial

I also love my books and will occasionally look through them but find some of them are beyond my skills. I’m finding I’m more inspired by seeing everyone’s work here on Cindy’s blog. ~Jeanne-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutor

This video is another winner Cindy. Koolbraider is right on when she said the pine cone shape and sparkly red and greens would make great holiday earrings or maybe even ornaments. ~Lawrence-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Glow in the Dark Pod Beads

I just love the rocker beads. I can see how they would make lovely components. The earrings were beautiful. Thanks again Cindy for your tute on rocker beads. ~Sue-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Tutorials

I did a bracelet for a client who has a daughter at UF (University of Florida). I put a charm on it with a photo of the “Gator” that I printed on white card stock and then covered with Bake and Bond. It came out just as Cindy stated in the tut and the comment above “nice and clear”. ~Marlene-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymerize Your Postage Stamps

Finally made 3! No more breaking beads. Completed a blend and switch scrap ring, wrapped in red wire. Just love it – so easy. Definitely making some for Christmas. Thanks you Cindy and Doug. ~Patt-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Wire Wrapped Coin Bead Rings

Just watched the video, I like the pendant also would like to see how that is made. This bead would look great used in a necklace where the beads are graduated, don’t know what the style necklace is called, I’ll try to explain it, it would be longest rocker bead in center then spacers on each side, then the next size bead on either side, spacers again, and so on, in an odd number of beads, sort of a fan shape. ~Ken-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy: Although I did not vote on the lanyard project (I guess I missed that opportunity), the comments left by your members have convinced me that it would be worthwhile project. Many times, I have learned a technique to use it in a different application. Perhaps this is a subject you could reintroduce again at a later time. To sum things up, I have to agree, that you always show us something that I didn’t know before and that is precisely why I keep coming back. ~Carol-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Beaded Lanyards

Cindy, you must be a mind reader. I have been making golf stroke counters and I can never decide what to end the bottoms of the cords with. I like putting little beads or dangles on them on the wire cord ends would be perfect. I use shoelaces to make my cords but then cut off the plastic ends and there are no wire cord ends that fit on them. The ones you made in the short video look awesome. You are a genius besides being a mind reader. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Cord End Findings

Cindy – I anxiously wait for Fridays to come, to see what new wonderful video tutorials you have waiting for us. Each week you amaze me with something completely new and challenging. I have really enjoyed your tutorials on tribal canes and beads. I just can’t say thanks enough to you Cindy for your wonderful style of teaching us this craft. Thanks again. ~Nancy-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Tribal Cane Jewelry Projects

I seriously love that I idea. I loved that idea so much that yesterday I made two necklaces with hooks on either side using black satin rat tail… the hooks on one of them looks a lot your hooks. Wow! I was amazed at the number of pendants I had already that would work with it. Such a versatile little necklace. I say… Fabulous!!! You are the PC Guru and my buddha! ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Hooks

The thing I love most about polymer clay, is that I can make truly unique pieces. Anyone can buy beads in bulk and re-string them into jewelry, but I find satisfaction in knowing that I made each and every bead in a piece. ~Carrie-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

Love it!! Please show us the chain at some point. I would love to see the complete piece. As far as continuing to demonstrate different ways to use beads, canes etc., those among us who are design challenged (namely, me lol) really benefit from your taking what you teach us one step further. As always, thank you for what you do. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Wiring Polymer Clay Beads

Oooo. This is wonderful! What a perfect thing to show all your beads not used in other projects. I have a LOT of those. 8) Kudos and thanks for this. ~Michelle-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Interchangeable Pendant

Oh, oh, oh, I am sooooo excited!! I finally did it. I made a couple canes. They weren’t this one but one is a flower petal and the other is a leaf. The flower petal came out different than the picture on the instructions but still pretty. The leaf one came out totally like it should. I am soooo proud. Finally, finally. And you all are so right. They are so fun. Now I have these little canes I can make all kinds of things with. I made a really cool pendant already. Yea!! ~Laurel-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Cane Jewelry

I Love This!!! It’s so unique, so interesting… I’m inspired by the purse charms and I wish the picture was even more closeup/detailed. Will you be doing a vid on this Cindy? I would be delighted to see how it’s all put together. Cindy – you never cease to amaze me! Thanks for the inspiration – I think I’ll be working on some new beads today. ~Lisa-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Purse Charms

Posted my pictures of watercolour beads on Facebook. I’ve just logged back in to find a message from a guy I went to school with asking if I sell jewellery as his daughter saw my necklace and wants a bracelet! Yay Cindy, you got me a sale! :) *does a happy dance* ~Silverleaf … A Follow up Comment From Silverleaf: I am pleased with the way my beads turned out, especially as the technique is one I haven’t tried before. Oh and I had another couple of messages from people asking where they can buy my jewellery and if I do commissioned work. :) Yay! I never thought of getting sales through Facebook.
Before I read a word about your beads I said to myself what a beauty looks just like a picture taken out of a scenic view magazine. Love the beads Cindy. Do you have a hard time giving away or selling the really neat beads like these. I would instantly want to make something for myself out of those beads. Capturing art in your leftover polymer clay. You just don’t know when that next bead will turn up. BAM, you just did it Cindy. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Polymer Clay Beads

I love this format…it’s great to be able to see more detail in each of the pieces. I always look forward to the personal touches added too, and how lessons are combined, like the tribal cane and heart on your purse charm Carolyn. It’s amazing how many unique combinations can be created with the same lessons.
Just want to brag a minute. I made a necklace from a piece of my faux crackled raku (forgot to take a pic) and donated it to our Salvation Army silent auction. It was just the rectangle of raku with a little black bead and a little silver bead on top with a black satin cord. It went for $75.00. I was thrilled. The most I’ve sold a necklace for is $35.00 and that’s the price I put on this one. They always list the value of the items in the auction. Every time I looked where the piece was on the table, someone was touching it. Thanks to Cindy!! ~Freda-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

I love the button tut, Cindy. I make knitted purses out of batik cotton, and I usually buy very large buttons as closures. How fun to be able to make any size I need and to coordinate them with the purse.
Definitely, Cindy, as DJ and others suggest, this would be a great tutorial. The lanyard with a thousand uses – and incidentally happens to be gorgeous, to boot! Original too; I’ve never seen one like yours, they’re all very utilitarian. You’re so clever, and a seeker (and finder) of beauty too.
I was cleaning my silverware drawer this morning and what did I come across. My sons silver baby spoon (now 22 years old)! What a great thing to do with it! My other children had the silver baby spoons also. I can make them each a piece of jewelry with their baby spoons!! ~Maureen-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Silver Spoon Jewelry

I love the Jade Tut. I made a necklace and wore it to the jewelers and got a complement. The jeweler said it was a stunning piece :) I never thought of using different colors other than the green. Thanks. ~Brenda-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Multi-Colored Faux Jade Technique

Cindy, My husband gave me the ultimate compliment when he noticed that the pendants I made for this year’s church bazaar were “light years” better than last year’s. I must say that one reason for this is the online education you provide us.
LOVE YOUR SITE – I’m just starting my jewelry business and decided after much processing in different directions that I needed more creativity than just stringing pretty beads on wire. I needed creation, ART! It’s so relaxing to do clay and there’s an immediate (12 hours non-stop) gratification about it. Gotta love that. Thanks for making all those mistakes so that I can get to making finished pieces that don’t look like blobs of cooked clay. ~Emily-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Creating Your Own Beads for Jewelry Making

Just wanted to share that I gave my Mum a pendant and ear-ring set with the mica shift technique, buffed to a high shine then coated in floor polish. A high compliment (I thought) came back to me is that a doctor at her work (she’s an ER nurse) asked what kind of “stone” it was. I must have done a good job on it. ~Sandra-J >> This comment was originally posted here: Buffing Polymer Clay Beads

Cool! It sounds very interesting, but as a newbie I can’t quite visualize what you mean:( Please do the tutorial keep up the good work, we really do appreciate it. ~Rachel-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Fossil Shell Beads

Cindy, You are very creative to not only think of something like this but to make it. I agree with Cindy E. We need to see more pictures of the way it looks on, and the different ways it can be worn. Beautiful, just beautiful what more can I say. I love it and I know your Mom will too. ~Linda-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Convertible Necklace

Awesome beads! I will have to try making these. I am always looking ways to make different shaped beads and pendants. I also like the use of the bugle beads for the center. ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Mobius Jewelry Beads

Hi Cindy, I love the Trumpet Flower bead. I noticed in the beginning you had made a pair of earrings from two of the small ones. I’m unable to spend much time working with my clay, but I’m enjoying my membership and learning everything I can for when I can get my hands back in it. Best regards. ~Louise-T >> This comment was originally posted here: Trumpet Flower Beads From Cane Slices

Hi, Cindy! It’s subtle and exquisite and I love it. Not to speak of your faux raku techniques that are completely new to me. I like even more than the faux turquoise one. ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Faux Raku Technique

Really unique project. When I fist saw the picture I thought it was a ring and said, “OMG, that looks dangerous!!” Very Unique. I love how PC can give us a variety of looks and we can keep things looking primitive or very finished depending upon the project. I did not know acetone could be used to remove fingerprints in baked clay. Just one more tidbit of information we got here at this wonderful site!!! ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Claw Jewelry Necklace

I love it! I would definitely wear something like this. It gave me more ideas on things to do with the few beads I’ve made so far. (My husband said, yes, those are nice, but what are you going to do with them?) ~Joyce-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Disc Beads

I got interested in working with copper because of the price of working with silver. Recently I bought 3 different gauges of silver from a supplier in Calgary. When they took it out of a vault! – I shuddered at what my bill was going to be. Working with copper will be so much more affordable and I really like the looks of it. ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Hammered Copper Findings

Great idea for matching post earrings! Quite a bit of my scrap ends up as swirly lentil beads. Or I mix it to form a new color to use in another project. Because I use rubber stamps quite a bit, extra stamped pieces are put aside for mosaic tiles for later projects. ~Dawn-M >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Stud Earrings

Another idea for those gorgeous roses is to make a dresser set – roses attached to combs, hair and make up brushes, hand mirrors, Kleenex box’s, attached to the sides of those mirrored perfume trays, and on the lids and on centered on bottle neck chain labels – would be “to die for!” All custom done to match your own bedroom or bathroom colors. Betcha they’d be hot sellers, too. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpted Rose Beads

Just have to say that I made my most successful roses, after years of making them in sugar paste, after watching your rose tutorials. And my nephew loved the resulting earrings I made for him to give to his girlfriend for their first anniversary – young love, eh? ~Judy-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpted Flower Beads

I love your bracelet. Poppies are popular with Veterans Day in the USA.
I just love these S-hook clasps. They really are a great way to have your clasp match the rest of your jewelry. Very pretty, indeedy!
Thanks Cindy, as usual you are the one that explains things in a way that we can understand. I had a silver jewelry person tell me that you were suppose to crimp the whole cord end, and it looked terrible. You just saved me a lot of money with this tip. I will be one of your followers for another 20 years. I love using ribbon as well, but could never find a good way to secure it. You solved this for me too. Thanks again, you are the highlight of my Fridays. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Wire Cord Ends

I love that you include findings in your tutorials – after all the tutorials are about polymer clay jewelry and the findings are an important element in jewelery making. Your tutorials and teaching style allow us to become self-sufficient in both style and technique and many are using your findings tutorials – as is evident in the bead contest photos. Many thanks. ~Cara-L >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Handmade Ear Wires

Cindy, I am so enjoying the weekly tutorials. It seems I spend all my time playing with clay. Our winter vacationing in Florida is quickly coming to an end and will be time to return back home to Missouri. I’ve made keepsake flower petal jewelry for all my family, and can hardly wait to give it to them. Thank you for making my time in Florida this year so meaningful. The flower petals came from my dad’s funeral back in December. I’ve made necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. My next project will be to make tie tacks. ~Teresa-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Yes.. Yes.. Yes.. please Cindy make a video tutorial. I just spent more money at Michaels last night buying earwires as I have lots of beads and clay ideas to make earrings with. I have enjoyed starting to make my own findings to match my clay treasures, it makes the whole process complete. ~Sam-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry Making

I find myself making my own jump rings quite often. It just seems that sometimes I don’t have the right size or wire type so I make my own. I actually started in wire work first and then started making polymer clay beads and pendants. The great thing about combining the two is that when you get to the point of making your own findings, you can create a piece that is totally made by you, nothing bought or prefabricated. It is an exhilarating feeling. Thanks Cindy for teaching me to make my own beads. I am not into torches (glass) or big expensive kilns (metal clay). Polymer is such a great medium. ~Laurel-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Wire Working and Polymer Clay Beads

I’ve been bitten by the wire working bug!! It just goes so well with chunky polymer beads! I too am excited about the up coming holly cane. I just love the necklace you used as an example to show us the different ways to use the cane. Gorgeous!! Thanks so much for everything you teach us Cindy!!!!! ~Lisa-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry Making Tutorials

Thank you for the inspiration, It’s interesting to read how many of us experience many of the phases you described. I never think my jewelry is good enough but after doing so well at the craft show last weekend I’m feeling better. My husband is my biggest fan and reminds me often how people enjoy my work and the fact that people often buy what I’m wearing! So there’s hope for all of us! ~Jeanne-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Creativity

Please count me in for the messy wrap wiring. Can’t wait to learn how to make this bead too, it has almost a vintage feel together with the wiring and beading. I’m finding I’m really drawn to the focal beads and wire variations. ~DJ >> This comment was originally posted here: Wire Wrapped Polymer Clay Beads

I haven’t seen the full [Chandelier wirework] video yet and I’ve already got an Idea on how to use this technique differently than what will be shown. Cindy, I think I’ve had one of your SHAZAM! moments. ~Ken-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorial

Bracelets, and neck decorations, seem to be all the rage with some younger men. I was recently in my favorite local bead shop and Sandy, the owner was helping three young men, age 16-20 fresh from Hockey practice, choose beads for bracelets they wanted to make. Money seemed to be no object but they balked at the idea of taking one of the many classes the store offers. I asked the owner later and she said that wasn’t so unusual and quite often men accompany their wives or girlfriends to choose the beads for the guys’ jewelry. There seems to be a great market niche there! ~Lawrence-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Men’s Jewelry

WOW I agree with Aims more my style also. I would also love to see more of the necklace up close, or tutor video on the whole thing. I feel like I see a lot of you in this necklace. Your talents shine again. Good thing all this wonderful delicious talent you keep feeding us isn’t rich in calories, I would way 500 lbs. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: SoftFlex Trios Wire

A little good news (trying not to brag, but very excited). I finally got my second sale in my Etsy shop today! Thank you Cindy, because the beads were smooth raku! And I made sets of jewelry for my sisters-in-law (ages 13 and 15) for Christmas. Using only 3 colors of clay and 2 colors of seed beads, I made 8 unique pieces of jewelry! I’ll try to get pics soon! ~Carrie-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Christmas

Fun demo Cindy. I am going to make some of these [Faux Bone] bead pendants for girls at work. They will love these. ~Kriss-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Bone, Faux Ivory Polymer Clay

Cindy – Thanks for including the interchangeable pendant in this month’s tutorials. I make an interchangeable pendant setting and another for interchangeable beads out of sterling or gold filled wires. My pattern is quite complicated, and uses lots of wire. I am looking forward to finding out how you do yours! It appears less complicated but still lovely and seems to lend itself to PC, whereas mine is for semiprecious stones. I’ve sold a few but they are quite expensive because of the materials and hours I put into them. I would imagine that I could sell yours at a much lower price. Since I sell most of my work at my church I like to keep the prices down, even though I give 100% of the money back to the church. This seems to be my mission. I can hardly wait for this tutorial! ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Interchangeable Jewelry Pendants

Book beads just love them and have made quite a few as gifts. ~Elizabeth-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Absolutely loved your purse charm..What a way to dress up a purse. So I made one with my first attempt at the tribal cane.. need to watch the video again.. lol Not quite right.. ok no where near right.. But I used the cane and made some beads and made me a purse charm. Showed to a friend on face book. She said what a great idea. Gave you the credit for the inspiration. Thanks for giving us that inspiration. ~Jackie-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry and Tassels

Definitely a YES, Cindy. I would love to learn how to do this. I have been admiring your spoon bails for awhile now. I love vintage anything and I would like incorporate that somehow into my polymer clay pieces. Your dogwood clay flower is just beautiful! ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Silverware Jewelry Pendant

I think the softflex wire is so cool looking on this pendant Cindy. I am looking forward to the video it will be nice to try something a little different my brain seems to need a boost at the moment. I have taken so much in since joining you I am growing more brain cells or maybe my head is getting to big LOL. ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Softflex Beading Wire

You never stop amazing me! I just watched the Hammered Copper Findings video. I was making a necklace last night and I did not have the right findings. So, I was going to use what I had, but I was not happy with that. I was going to go to the craft store to get some. But now thanks to you, I will be at the hardware store instead. Thanks so much Cindy. Oh, I cannot say enough nice things about you so this will have to cover it all: Cindy, you so ROCK! ~Sherry-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Hammered Copper Jewelry Clasps

I got into beading about the same time that I got into polymer clay – they do tend to go hand-in-hand! I started by making polymer clay pendants then hunting beads to go with them. It didn’t take me too long or very many internet searches to figure out that I could make the beads at the same time that I make the pendant and everything would match. Throw in some contrasting glass beads and the results are amazing. Plus you can have different sizes in the same color… earrings to match… the possibilities are endless! And clicking on to your site (and signing up immediately, I might add) has greatly improved my workmanship! ~Arlene-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Creating Your Own Polymer Clay Beads

Love all your videos so far and have really gotten into making some simple Mokume Gane pendants. Just on the first stage of sanding, but it is making a HUGE difference in how they look as opposed to just putting varnish on them. Thank you so much for your time! ~Dawna-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay How To Videos

WOW beautiful work just love your Pearl Swirl. Maybe in a few weeks Mine might look like that. Cindy really is a fab teacher. ~Josie-T >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Image Transfers

I only just started making jewelry over the winter because I wanted to try to duplicate those expensive “Troll” and “Pandora” bracelets that are getting so popular now. I discovered polymer clay when I was having trouble finding “just the right bead” for my projects. I dove right into the clay and love working with it. It is a craft that I can also share with my daughter and son. They enjoy helping make beads and also small decorative objects (hint – would love to see a bead project geared to the teenage styles). So far I have made the beads for some family and friends. Have had friends request me to make things for them to purchase, but I think I still have a way to go before I would be comfortable charging for them. Maybe one day I can at least pay for my hobby that way. ~Cathy-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Your Reasons For Making Polymer Clay Beads

How fun! and I really like the lacing through the bead rock idea – very clever and effective. I’m looking forward to doing this! ~Maria-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Pebble Beads

Great idea! Not for my mom as she doesn’t wear them… but… I have a craft show this weekend, and I know I have some lentil beads that I didn’t now what to do with. Thanks so much!
A little tip for molds. I use the mold for resin pieces. I put Saran wrap in the mold, making sure it is smooth with no creases and fill it about half way with polymer clay. I then pull it out and have the shape I want. I have sold bracelets with the square mold. I use the square Crystal Blevins and metal beads. I don’t sell my pieces on purpose, people seem to like them. I consider myself a novice, but I’ve learned so much from you. Bless you. ~Sandra-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Cornstarch and Polymer Clay Beads

Never heard of a book thong – but love the word! Bookmark it is indeed! And beautiful!
Hi Cindy I was excited to see the new video of Variegated Rose Bead-Pt 1. I LOVE all of your videos! They are so wonderful! Thanks so much. ~Crystal-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

All of these roses are absolutely gorgeous. Those suede finish clays make me want to try blue suede roses to match my high heel shoes, LOL! Anyone try a beach rose yet? Along the Atlantic coastline, the shore is lined for miles with these beauties almost forming hedgerows before access to the beach. The pink to deep rose colored flowers, offset by that beautiful orangey-gold center would be perfect done with the Lietz Teardrop Blend and the Lietz Modified Blended Plug methods. Sometimes the flowers are the size of your hand, and the smell from potpourri made from the petals, centers, and rose hips bring you back to the memory of your last walk on the sand. Heading for the Jersey shore for 10 days over the 4th of July weekend. Plan on taking many pics and gathering up a supply to add to the polymer clay, so that hopefully, I get the smell as well as the “look” of my favorite simple rose. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpted Flower Beads

Count me in too! At first I thought only the rose was clay and wondered how you got it to look like the “leather” tag! Here they are BOTH clay!! Cool! That is some far-out – faux!! ~Catalina >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Leather Jewelry

Personally, Cindy, I can never get enough video teaching and since this project involves fire, (in addition to being jewelry design challenged, the appropriate use of anything combustable is another area where I am a bit deficient), having an actual demonstration is probably even more critical for someone like me (LOL). Whatever the decision, thanks again for all you do for us. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Copper Headpins

Hello Cindy. Great tips like always. Love this site! Thank you for letting me reference some of your stuff on my blog. I am working on a new line of charms so these tips were helpful. We always seen to be on the same page some how. LOL Thanks again. ~Susan-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Polymer Clay Charms

Since poppies are one of my favourite flowers, I’m all over this great video, Cindy. Off to check out Michaels for the Sculpey tools. Love the bracelet. I can just see one done with jet Swarovski’s interspersed with little bunches of poppies hanging off jump rings. Yippee! ~Sue-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Projects

I also have so many beads that I don’t know what to do with. Your hooks and chains would really settle that problem … Can I just be you for a couple of days? It’ll solve all my problems, learn all the great talents that you have and then I’ll come back to me. I just love everything. Thanks, Honey. ~Helen-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Hanging Pendant Beads

Lovely stuff Ritzs! I agree with Cindy about your necklace – the connection appears so seamless.
Hi there, I am finding all your tips so, so helpful. I have just started making jewellery and thought I would experiment making my own beads in polymer clay, having had a dummy run a couple of years ago. I have just sanded and buffed and sanded and buffed and you’re quite right, just by putting in that extra mile, the results are quite fabulous. Many, many thanks. ~Helen-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Shiny Beads

Cindy – I have an Amazon Kindle and when I can’t sleep, I turn it on and browse your polymer clay blog via Bloglines, where I’ve added it to my list of blogs. My husband knows so much about polymer clay now, because I’m constantly relaying what I’ve learned. :D I made my very first set of beads over the weekend, from a cane. Oh. My. Gosh. How do you spell “addicted”? I used three layers: black/white/silver. I’m in the process of making a bracelet. You have inspired me to really dive into this. Wow. It’s a creative blast! ~Bonnie-B >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Pendants Out Of Polymer Clay

Not to hog your blog hon, but to comment on two of your articles above. I totally agree with the niche marketing tips and the custom made items articles you wrote. Until recently that accounted for almost 100% of my sold items. I used to sell my jewelry in a dance club where my husband was a bouncer, that served a predominantly gay clientèle. I had great success making jewelry themed around the different niches within the gay community, and also themed to some of the special event parties they had several times a year. I always made sure they understood that I accepted special requests too, and even made jewelry to match outfits for several of the “Drag Queens” featured there as entertainment. (Which they were always kind enough to mention in their acts.) And I always made sure to donate items for all of their charity events. As a result I passed out a zillion business cards over the course of a couple of years, and I still get calls for special requests and gift items. XOXO ~Jamie-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Selling Handmade Beaded Jewelry

This baby keepsake necklace idea is cute! It’s simple, yet people would have an absolute fit about it. A new parent would love to own one of these! I haven’t gotten into transfers yet, although I’ve purchased all the necessary supplies. Yet another thing I need to get started on! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Photo Transfer Beads

I love this idea!!! It looks good, and sure puts old silverware to good use. It gives those of us who do not want to make our own bezels a new and unique already formed bezel to use.
Cindy, Your rose pendant is exquisitely beautiful!!! I am sure she will love it and treasure it forever, having so much fun choosing to wear it so many different ways! I wish I could see your mother’s necklace from different angles, and what it looks like on someone. I’d love to see more of the detail in the bead work. Maybe your Mom could give you a picture of her wearing it after Christmas!?! The link to the rose itself shows the rose beautifully! It is simply gorgeous!!! I hope to find time to make more jewelry soon, and to experiment with making such versatile pieces :) Thanks for sharing your beautiful work as always! And thanks for showing us that the options are unending! Hugs to you. ~Cindy-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Convertible Necklace

Hi Cindy! Love your blogs! I especially enjoyed this one as I am a big fan of raku pottery. I would LOVE to see a video!
These beads are beautiful Cindy.
I’m intrigued Cindy, these are beautiful. By the way, I thought I was the only one that loved to plunge my hand into a bowl of beads just to feel them. I do the same thing with buttons. Do you ever make polymer clay buttons? ~Susan-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Raku Crackle Beads

I have made some of these beads and they are really pretty. It is nice to have a variety if bead shapes to work with. You did a great job writing a description of how to do the folding. I encourage others to try these beads because they are really easy to make. I did not pierce a hole in mine. I ran the beading wire through one of the openings formed by the mobius band: I alternated between round and mobius beads. This causes the bead to be more elongated on the wire. I love the bugle bead idea because it give the bead a much different look. Wanted to mention that you close up photos are much easier to see. Thanks for making that change. ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Beads

I love the bead. I would use it with ethnic jewellery. I’d probably combine it with brass or copper, maybe use it on a cord necklace. ~Cheryl-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Mosaic Tube Beads

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and the advice! You’re right, I’m definitely addicted. I think I dream clay. LOL! I see what you guys make and I’m amazed. I want to learn to create clay art as beautiful as I see here. ~Tanya-L >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

I like the mobius bead with the spindle. I would have never thought to put that in. That would make it a lot easier to string into wire or beading thread. ~Lynn-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Cute, I have about a million bugle beads so I’ll have to try that.
Hi, Cindy! The clock is so beautiful and original… And what a lovely gift for a man! I’m also curious about the fish clock, so I stay tuned. ;) ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Turquoise Polymer Clay Clock

Hi Cindy, Really great use of unusual materials. The picture looks like the numbers are two different colors with the 2 appearing brown. Including the whole creative process in the blog is so helpful, especially to those of us with creative thinking challenges. Many thanks. ~MJ >> This comment was originally posted here: Number Jewelry

This is a really helpful little tidbit of info! I tend to use leather or silk cording on many of my necklaces and you’re right… its hard finding beads with holes that large. And when I’ve tried to carefully make large holes in polymer clay beads before baking, the beads often end up deformed. I will have to try hand drilling. ~Dawn-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Sizing Holes in Polymer Clay Beads

My impetus to learn how to effectively use polymer clay came from my interest in multi-media collage. It’s wonderful that polymer clay is so versatile. My hope in learning different methods of using polymer clay is to be able to create handmade, unique embellishments. As a photographer, I wanted to learn how to transfer photos to polymer clay. I would also like to learn to make molds of objects so I can create replicas in polymer clay. However, a bonus is that I’ve been inspired to make some handmade pieces for my new interest in making my own jewelry! ~Karen-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Mixed Media Jewelry Projects

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! I never knew it was so easy! Now I can make those surf bracelets for my sons and their friends also!! God knows I’ve made enough beads over the months and now they will have a purpose. Your tutorial is so clear and easy to follow as usual.
Bravo Kim! Your letter to Cindy describes me exactly, from trying many craft areas and getting bored, to finding Cindy, and even right down to the first Etsy sale! I got my first this morning after only 2 days of my items being listed! So, I can share in your excitement and wish you the best! And I will be sure to check out your store! ~Carrie-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Home Jewelry Business

What a technique, Cindy.
Hi Cindy and all. just watched the video re the Interchangeable pendant. What a great idea. I have to admit I am not so great with wire but the more I try I will improve, so out with the pliers and off I go. That’s great for using up those odd beads we have lying around. Trust you Cindy to come up with a way of using them up, just lovely. Love ~Elizabeth-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Interchangeable Focal Bead Pendant

Your Hollyhock is so pretty, Cindy. And I love the triangular shape of this pendant, very cool. The only bad thing is that you’ve sent everyone to Home Depot and they no longer have any copper wire left for me.. by the time I discovered you here, all your members bought up all their wire! lol. Naw, I guess they are scaling back on their inventory. At least there are lots of places to buy wire online. I just loved the idea of being able to buy dirt cheap wire at the, what’d you call it? (Had to scroll up…) “Creative Jewelry Store.” At least you can still get some things there. Like the super cheap tiles to bake on. Anyway, thanks for all the help, Cindy. And once again, that’s a beautiful Hollyhock pendant! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Copper Findings

Beautiful beads Cindy! I just love the Faux Raku style beads especially the crackled ones. They would definitely make great buttons! And I agree they are earthy and organic looking. And I usually have to touch beads because I love the texture and the colors so these are fantastic! Keep it coming! ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Raku Style Crackle Beads

Beautiful bead, Cindy.
WOOOO HOOOO!!! Thank you, Cindy!! I love this absolutely cool and versatile way to hang pendants etc. I’d love it if you could sneak in a quick lesson on making the hooks but only if everyone else feels they would benefit as well … BTW, I’m flying tomorrow to visit my daughter for a few days. I always pack something pc to do while traveling and this time want to practice wire work for some pendants. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Copper Jewelry Hooks

Thanks for the inspiration. I would have never thought about putting Raku with the flower bead… Wow. Expect the unexpected. There is so much hand made jewelry that all looks the same. Unfortunately, much hand beaded jewelry is glass bead, spacer, glass bead, spacer, glass bead, spacer, all the same, all evenly distributed. Unfortunately, it really does not look much different than what you see at retailers, for much less money and mass produced in China. I recently went to several shops that sell hand crafted items, shop owners have said they are looking for things that are not jewelry because they already have so much of that. Thanks for the inspiration. ~Anna-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Asymmetrical Jewelry

What a clever necklace. Definitely can’t say it’s like all the other ‘just strung’ necklaces. Would like to see a closeup of the clasp since you say it would be adjustable and there are jump rings on both sides. ~Freda-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Mica Shift Polymer Clay Beads

I used my polymer clay and jewelry skills to save quite a bit of money on my daughters wedding. It was Renaissance themed so I got cylinder glass vases and bought a celtic heart mold and made these, painted them gold, then antiqued them will another gold and glued them around the vases. This was the base setting for the centerpieces. I made the bride and bridesmaids broaches and clasps out of clay. I also used the same heart mold and made the name place setting out of clay. I made their jewelry too. All this saved me quite a bit of money not to mention made the wedding way more custom to her theme than I probably ever could have found. ~Laurel-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Cindy I love it. I have seen this type of bail made with a copper washer but I will have a go as you have done it, it is all good learning. It’s great! ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry Pendant

Christmas day is coming to an end and it has been a lovely day. Contact with family who received my first clay gifts proved to be encouraging. They loved the hookmark/bookmarks with charms including a book at the end. The gingerbread family ornaments of four (clay of course) was well received, to be put on the tree with clay ornament hangers. So it is thanks to Cindy especially for the tutorial on making the book charm as well as all the other information she and you have shared. There wasn’t enough time to try the little snow people so I hope to do that soon and look forward to what is coming in 2010. Happy New Year everyone. ~Joyce-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Gifts

Me too! Can’t wait for the Fridays of January to come. And I finally finished something!! I actually made beads into jewelry. I made memory beads out of my aunts funeral flowers. She passed away in September. Then I made bracelets for her daughters and granddaughters. I promised myself to get them done before the new year. As I said before my New Years resolution is to clay more instead of just watching what everyone else is doing. Like the others, this blog and Cindy’s lessons are what makes getting up early everyday worthwhile! It is the first thing I look for everyday! Happy New Year to everyone. Stay safe and be healthy! Happy New Year, Cindy! ~Maureen-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Lessons

Love simple stunning earrings. These definitely fit the bill. For those with skin allergies, Cindy tipped me off to using niobium wire, as it does not react with skin. How sweet to be able to wear pierced earring again without the aggravation. I just keep changing out the wire to wear new (old) earrings. One big thank you, Cindy! ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Earrings

I like the butterflies! I vote yes for the butterfly earrings and the different styles of ear wires too… I like the idea of making my own ear wires in copper. ~Lisa-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Copper Earwires

Unique so much better than the mass produced identical “cookie cutter” jewellery you see so often in the stores! It’s wonderful that polymer clay allows us to create beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces. ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Oh, BTW I have finished the jade experiment. I also strung (very quickly) a multi jade bracelet to show my friends and I’ve already gotten five requests for a bracelet.
Interchangeable sounds wonderful. I fall in line with all those wanting a video on this technique.
So so lovely, Arlene. Thanks for sharing. My hammered copper wire attempts have to date been only marginally successful. After seeing this I’m gonna fire up the tutorial and try again until I get it. Congratulations on this inspirational piece. Cindy, you must be so proud when you see your lessons applied so beautifully. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Hammered Copper Wire Hookmark

These look great! I would definitely like to learn how to make these. I come across the fossils at the GEM shows but they are so expensive to buy, so if I could learn to make little replicas that would be fantastic. There are also a nice focal bead to add to your earth tone style beads, I think. Thanks. ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Fossil Shell Beads

Hi Cindy! It’s hard to keep up with you, you are publishing one article per day :)). I think that your site will become soon a real polymer clay encyclopedia. I enjoyed a lot the pictures of your crackled faux raku beads, they must be wonderful to touch. And the gingham lentil is just beautiful, I’ve made that kind of cane some time ago, the pattern is called a Vichy cane on the French blogs. I’ve never thought of using it on a lentil though. Regarding the cube beads… I have made very few until now, they seem quite difficult to mix in a necklace or it’s me who don’t have the skills. Otherwise I like to make square canes and there’s nothing more appropriate than a square cane for a cube bead. The more complicated bead shape are lovely but time-consuming, especially the sculpted ones. So I mainly stick with the round beads and lately with some tubes. I don’t know about which kind of beads I would like to read more, all you’re writing is always very useful. ~Squash >> This comment was originally posted here: Square Cube Beads

Very pretty! I can see them on hair slides or grips or similar. Or how about wine glass charms for parties? ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpted Rose Beads

These beautiful spheres remind me of the blown glass world globes created by Josh Simpson. You can almost see the clouds, topographical and geographical images using the scrap and dried clay. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Jupiter Planet Beads

Hi Cindy, love the idea about the graffiti bead. It makes a great bead for a leather cord for a guy. My nephew would like that. I made him a wood looking bead on a short cord but he wanted it shorter so it was tight on his neck. I guess that’s how they wear them. ~Bonnie-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Graffiti Fashion Jewelry

Those smooth faux raku beads are fabulous too… can’t wait until my next clay day… shopping list started… ideas churning in my head. ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Raku Polymer Clay

Oh, he is so cute!! Great idea Cindy. I have stated before but it bears repeating: What I love about polymer clay is even mistakes usually turn out beautiful. Some of my prettiest beads are from goof ups.
I love all your beads Polyanya – even your ‘first attempts’. I also admire the fact that you didn’t let the techniques get the best of you no matter what. I’m wondering if I will do the same. You have emphasized my whole reasoning behind using Polymer Clay. You can buy any bead you want if you pay the right price. However – trying to find something as unique as what you have done is impossible in the retail world. And if you did find them – what would the price be? Love them and your spunky attitude! ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Learning About Polymer Clay

Cindy – You have called some beads “money beads”. I found my money bead this weekend. I sold at a festival and made $160 in 2 days! My smooth faux raku bracelets flew off my table! I made different shapes and sizes of beads and my best seller by far was bracelets with the faux raku technique on small (a little smaller than a pea) round beads. I also made larger round, and two size cube beads and paired them with silver spacers. ~Carrie-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Sculpey III Polymer Clay

I’ve been making jewelry for many years, mostly using metal links and Softflex covered with seed beads, Fireline with woven seed beads, or silk thread to hand-knot pearls. Polymer clay has now introduced me to so many new ideas and ways to make jewelry. I just love this site! ~Linda-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Beads

Ack! Love it! Oh no, I have the in-laws coming tomorrow!
Wow, these beads are gorgeous… love the bold colors, especially together with the copper.
Hi Cindy, loved watching the book tut just now and as usual you have inspired lots of ideas as to what to do with it. I can see myself doing miniature art journals for friends that journal. Mmmm… have to put more thought into that one. Anyway thanks for the tut it is so cute.
Cindy, That is a beautiful necklace!! I would wear it proudly myself with the modern women’s uniform of jeans and a crisp blouse. I did not get a chance to make the holly and berry canes but I love the versatility of all the projects that you have shown us throughout the year. It is one of the things on my to do list for next year.. so much clay so little time.. and retirement still so far away.. a girl can dream can’t she. Thanks for all you do for us. ~Sam-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

I love the look of “special” earwires. Handmade ones show that you really care about the design of your jewelry; they also make earrings much more interesting!
Can’t wait to see more wire work, but love everything you show us. Just wanted you to know have just had a stall at Xmas fayre and sold a few of my clay necklaces. Wow I was so excited. My daughter wore one of my lentil pendants at a body shop party and I couldn’t believe it I got over 20 orders, all thanks to your wonderful videos. So I will be happy whatever you do. Thanks Cindy I could not have done it without you. ~Josie-T >> This comment was originally posted here: Interchangeable Focal Bead Pendant

I find these [Jupiter] beads fascinating! I love them and I’m trying to find more scrap clay!!!! I also had some success this week selling some jewelry. I took some necklaces to work to show one my friends my new beads and I ended up selling two necklaces, a pair of earrings, and I have two orders for necklaces. WOW! What a feeling! Thanks Cindy for the wonderful guidance and the fabulous site. ~Melinda-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Jupiter Beads

Thanks for this photo of your “Convertible Necklace” and for letting us see it in more detail. It is so interesting to look at with a lot of texture and fun details. I have not made any convertible jewelry yet, but will surely do so in the future now that you have brought the idea to my attention. Thanks, Cindy.
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! is all I can say Cindy. Just seen the Chandelier Video and can’t wait to do some. Just loved it.
Hi, Cindy! Your Jupiter beads look fabulous and I can’t wait to see the video on Friday!
Cindy, I tried the torn clay process that you did on your video. It was fun and turned out pretty good. I put a necklace that I did on Etsy and I also put it on Flickr and on Flickr I gave you the credit for the tutorial. Just wanted to let you know in case you see it out there.
I think this is great I’ve been making silverware jewelry for awhile now and didn’t know what to do with the spoons. I started with polymer clay a year or two ago and really like it. Thank you for sharing your ideas. ~June-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Silverware Jewelry

I like the idea of the wings on the heart. I wonder how it look like if you were to use the Studio Sculpey clay to make the wings. It would give a velvety look and feel, but I haven’t tried using the Studio Sculpey for butterfly wings yet… have you? I will have to try that… or try a lace cane as well. I usually do simple hearts and add some left over Bull’s eye cane or add leaves to them, but I would like to add some dimension to mine, so I like your idea. I am trying to think outside the box this year, one of my resolutions this year… trying to be a little more daring with the bling. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. ~Lupe-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Heart Shaped Polymer Clay Pendant

Boy, what a girl can do with a little help from her friends. With all of your wonderful suggestions I ran up to my craft room and unstrung my original pearlet creation. I had tried to make this organic looking thingy by stringing them with some sort of ugly (but organic looking) wooden beads. In my head combining food with ugly (but organic looking) beads made perfect sense even with a hideous outcome. (See why I describe myself as jewelry design challenged?) Anyway, my little beads are all now part of a lovely set. The big one is alone on a piece of satin cord which I had in my craft stash, two are now earrings and one is dangling on a bracelet. Believe it or not I even had one more which I did not include in the photo for the suggested key chain. I love it!!! Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me and for your kind words. ~Elizabeth-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Anjou Pear Beads

Cindy, Thanks for checking out my LifeChain video series … I came over to see what you’re doing here and am blown away by the amount of info you’ve assembled on your blog- way to go! Now if I only had time between my work and kids to explore working in clay– like a lot of jewelers I know, I actually started out with beads and beading back at the beginning! Keep up the great work. ~Heather-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

What a wonderful blog, how did I miss this one? Great idea on the bead slip knot Cindy, it would have been prefect for a domino necklace I made a few months back. Great stuff, you have a new subscriber. ~Robin-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Slip Knot

What a great idea! Love the flower, but the wire stamens and wrapping make it extra special. Cannot wait for you to teach us how to make these. Be great in flower arrangements because you could bend the wire to make realistic settings. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Wire Wrapped Jewelry

Cindy – I made a similar necklace this afternoon, inspired by your piece! I used copper chain and made a couple of S-hooks for the ends. I used one of my leftover beads I made for the Manchester meetup swap (dark purple/red mokume gane round bead with metal leaf, trans clay and acrylic paint) as the pendant, with a three crystal dangles on tiny bits of chain hanging from the bottom of the bead. Looks pretty good! I’m going to make a couple more pendants I can use with it, and a silver version too. I especially like how the fastenings are at the front, much easier to put on with all my hair that tends to get tangled in clasps a the back of my neck, and quicker to take off to show people when they admire it. :) Thanks for another great idea! ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Pendants

I just love doing the wirework, and when making beads and links and clasps it is so satisfying to know you have made the whole thing yourself. ~Ritzs >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Findings

This is perfect timing! I have started working on Christmas gifts and have a hard time coming up with stocking stuffers for my older grandsons, 12 and 15. If you can give me some ideas for the boys in my life I would be so grateful. You are terrific Cindy. Can’t wait!!!!!!!!! ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Unisex Fall Jewelry

I’d love more jewellery ideas for men, too. My son is an artist and I think he’d enjoy wearing something I’d made for him. My DSIL, a sailor, wears earrings, so I guess jewellery for men is finally acceptable. I’d like to come up with a necklace or bracelet design that was attractive, easy to wear, and a little bit unusual. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Cindy, I’m really enjoying my video subscription. Just wish I had more time to play with the clay! ~Sue-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Polymer Clay Gifts

Thanks for the video Cindy. There was no Harry Potter when I was a child, but I would have loved a book like that! :) I never had any children but I adore this idea.
What a surprise to have my morning coffee, open the website and see my comment at the beginning of this post. Interesting and most appropriate for everyone out there at this time for me to give an update. After my 15 plus year addiction, way too many self doubts, but also a lot of darn “I can’t believe I made that’s”…2 times lately people have literally stolen my necklaces right off my neck. Cindy I am happy to tell you that those necklaces were versions of your mod cane. One of the ” thiefs” owns a store in a nearby town and is now going to.. I can’t believe I am going to say this ….try and sell my jewellry!! That’s where the self doubt still rears it’s ugly head, even after all this time. I am sooo excited but very nervous. It is after years of trial and error, searching, reading books and wonderful tutors like Cindy that we can achieve the next level in our chosen medium. Keep at it everyone and you too will achieve the next level in our clay world and have a basement full of clay, tools, books, ovens, etc…. Now I dream of an official studio in my retirement years… ahhhhh.. we always want more don’t we us addicts.. lol ~Sam-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Creativity

Love the neckalace, the raku beads are beautifull and the idea of combining them with a flower is elegant. Thank you Cindy for sharing!
It’s great the way you’ve combined the two colors of wire, I love that idea and the way the earrings compliment but aren’t identical. I’ve been scoping around for “fishing gear” findings too. My husband saw some of the things I was interested in, and he tells me he has lots of those in his tackle box! The cost is so reasonable and I know they’ll hold as well. I think it will be fun to experiment with, if it doesn’t work then at least I haven’t spent too much trying. The necklace/earrings are really beautiful - yummy warm tones. Thanks again Cindy for another dose of inspiration! ~DJ >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Wire Jewelry Ideas

I actually started out in jewelry making and wire working and then started doing the clay. I love the thought that a piece I make is entirely made by me, from findings, to wiring/chain to beads. I don’t custom make every item of every piece I make but it is nice to know that I can. I had no idea I could make my own cool, inexpensive beads without expensive equipment until I stumbled onto Cindy one day. Thank you Cindy for showing me how to make some of my jewelry truly my very own. ~Laurel-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy: As you know I recently bought your Beginner’s course and I find it is just great. All those hints and tips make a great difference for someone like me just learning how to work with polymer clay (don’t find these in books). Some of us are more visual and need to really see how to do it rather than read on how it needs to be done. I find it just amazing that I can get a video course and see it as many times as I want and stop it, go back, etc. I started making jewelry as a hobby about 5 years ago and think that being able to create our own beads, pendants, etc. in the colors of our choice is amazing. The other thing I like about it is that creating something really opens up your mind and imagination as to what we are capable of. Keep up your great work and please let me know when your next course will be available as I will certainly buy it. Thank you so much. ~Gail >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

My primary interest in using polymer clay is to create beads for jewelry, but this article has sparked an interest in flat pendants, as well. I never would have thought of putting cardstock in the oven! Home Depot here I come, for drywall sandpaper and ceramic tiles – I can’t wait to experiment with this new idea! Thanks! Thanks also to the readers who posted some additional tips here! ~Sue >> This comment was originally posted here: Baking Flat Polymer Clay Sheets

Hi Cindy, The above bead is so lovely. It is so hard to believe that with some practice and patience, we (humans) can make such beautiful pieces with our own two hands and the proper tools. We can mimic nature, and we can bring forth what was once only in our imaginations using these cane methods that you are teaching us. I am learning that the sky really is the limit as far as what we can do with Polymer Clay. Thank you for sharing all that you do. You are appreciated :) ~Cindy >> This comment was originally posted here: Flower Beads for Jewelry Making

In one of your blogs, you talk about how one persons ugly/useless jewelry is another ones treasure. Well, I have been wearing a lot of my jewelry that I make to work. I have worn many a pendant tediously and carefully wire wrapped and baubles made with polymer clay that have been hand formed, sanded, buffed and coated with hours of work on every detail (as you well know). Most times I hear not a word about these treasures from my co-workers. So the other day I throw on a little trinket I absolutely threw together. It was some store bought brown/amber plastic rings with some facet cutting on them. Threw a cheap gold colored chain through the middle of them and hung them from my neck. 2 minutes tops on this one. And sure enough, I get a comment about how pretty/cool my necklace is. Go figure!!!
What a truly beautiful technique this has to be. My brother does this kind of firing and scares me to think hes working with fire as it come out of the kiln with his thrown clay. But to be able to get the raku on beads well all I can say is WOOOOOOOOOOW. ~Laurie >> This comment was originally posted here: Deep Crackle Bead Making Techniques

You know what? Although I’ve said before I can’t really justify the cost of subscription because my jewellery business is so new and I haven’t anywhere near broke even yet, I’m actually really tempted to subscribe now. Maybe it can be a birthday present to myself… since my birthday’s in November I can get away with that I think! ~Silverleaf >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

Very beautiful Cindy! I would love something like this. Especially with the rose being my favorite flower. And I like that you used copper. It is one of my favorite metals to work with. I like silver too. But copper seems to suit my earthy side better. To answer your question? No I have never purposely made convertible jewelry before. But I have been known to combine several bracelets with a couple brooches at a time to make a necklace or necklaces. I like the idea of something having more than one set use. I love to have options and hardly ever wear the same look twice. So maybe I should try making a few of these LOL. Now, when do we get the video showing how to make that lovely rose? Hee hee hee! XOXO ~Jaime >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Beaded Jewelry

Your spider pendant made out of Polymer Clay is unique and awesome looking.
I just love Cindy! Your mom will definitely LOVE IT! I also love your pink one. I sometimes have a hard time thinking outside the box. The idea of an adjustable necklace is super. And I agree with you on the two sides of the necklace complimenting one another even though each side is different and unique. I have been meaning to try that with my jewelry and I have attempted once or twice, but I end up going back to the usual…I guess I have to be more adventurous. What a gorgeous necklace…thanks for sharing. ~Lupe >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Beaded Jewelry

[Excerpts from a much longer comment] …you are a very nice lady, and karma speaks volumes … I just loved looking at the gold/silver/copper leaf information, and plan on doing something with it … Just finished weaving a gorgeous Lauriat and Earrings. Was thinking to myself, wouldn’t this look great with one of my own created clay beads attached to it (once I learn)! (I’m dreaming, but it will come to fruition!! Actually, the pendant on it can be utilized two-fold — as a brooch as well. I AM SO BLESSED, AND YOU ARE TOO!!
Hi Cindy, just wanted to say that I really like the look of the copper wrap on the pendant.
