As a complete newbie to polymer clay, I started out by purchasing Cindy’s beginner course. The amount of information jam packed into that course is priceless! I looked around my area for polymer clay courses, and was unable to find one for under $70 for a 3 hour class. By purchasing Cindy’s course, I instantly had access to 2.5 hours of polymer clay instruction, and I could watch in the privacy of my own home! If you’re anything like me, you only retain about 75% of the information the first time around. With Cindy’s course I can re-watch as many times as necessary, and even bring my laptop into my craft area! I then purchased the membership, and continued to be impressed! I have since purchased almost all of the back issue packages! The creativity, quality and ease with which the lessons are presented make working with polymer clay so easy! I’m constantly amazed by what I am able to create! For only $9.95 every 3 months? Definitely well worth the money! Thanks Cindy! ~Melissa-G >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Learning

Cindy, I have watched all the videos in your Beginner’s Course at least twice (some more!). It is obvious you are a natural teacher who enjoys and has mastery of her subject matter. Your experience working in television has enhanced your sense of pacing and editing. I think all this helps render your material so approachable and personal, and keeps all your members eager for each new installment! ~Monique-U >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Videos

Cindy, you have a way of making a technique seem much easier no matter how many times I have done it before. This is why I don’t think I would ever be able to say no to a tute from you. I learned this from the get go when I felt I already knew enough that the beginners course would not benefit me. Yea Right!!. I still to this day go back and review that course and get something new from it every time. There is no such thing about knowing enough when it comes to anything. Certainly not PC. For now I will have to be happy googling the lanyard and finding out what I can about it there. It will not be the same though. THANK YOU Cindy and Doug for any and all you share with us. You need to raise your prices!!!! uuuuuuugggs. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutor Lessons

Hey little beauty, well I am on the start of a wonderful and hopefully long road. No one should begin any sport, instrument, art, etc., without the prior proper lessons and knowledge. It won’t stop us from making mistakes along the way but it sure will help us make a lot less. Your Polymer Clay Tutor Course is truly one of the best I have ever taken. You really share your knowledge with me and make it so enjoyable to learn. Thank you so very much Cindy. ~Rose-R >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Basics

The best way to get started with polymer clay is to get Cindy’s fundamentals/beginners course, aka the Polymer Clay Basics Course. It has 39 short-and-to-the-point videos that help you watch and understand the various steps, so you completely “get it” and avoid the mistakes most beginners make. It’s a great course, and will answer those questions that come up when you’re starting out. Cindy’s videos are really well done. They’re clear, up-close, with great sound — it’s like you’re right there with her. You can get 3 free videos (a great way to see what they’re like) if you sign up for her free newsletter. You’ll also get free color recipes each week from her custom palettes. Great deal! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Beginners Course

I bought Cindy’s Beginner Course tonight – now I have her with me all the time. I can correct all the little mistakes that were causing me so much trouble. Just watched two of the videos and I have made some corrections in my beading technique. Well worth the cost – don’t know why I waited so long. I guess since I got paid for a dozen snowmen I felt that I could put them money to good use – her videos will make working with polymer clay a lot more fun and productive. ~Natlie-H >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Snowman Beads for Christmas

Thank you Cindy. I have been making feathers all day. Working to get the pattern memorized and playing with colors. It is terrific. I’m new here but I am at an intermediate level. Although I am working through your beginners course to break some of my bad habits and learn new skills. ~Kathleen-C >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy, after watching a few of your beginners course videos, I see why I’ve not had the best results. I bought Kato clay which may be too stiff for a beginner and takes too long and too much effort to condition. I also think I tried to condition too much at a time. I am going to follow your suggestion of buying a couple of brands and experimenting. I also realized that I didn’t let the clay rest properly between steps. And I didn’t polish the beads thoroughly enough. You have so many great tips but my favorite is the bevel cut trick. ~Darla-L >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy, I am new to polymer clay and designing or creating different types of medium of jewelry, and I must say I am truly loving the ability and all the possibilities of working with polymer clay. Your beginner course videos have truly helped me understand that even I can create with the gift of the way you describe and direct me on creating wonderful pieces. In the beginner lessons you introduced me to different ways to accomplish what I am wanting to create. Such as mixing, creating, shaping, firing, sanding, buffing, gluing, tumbling, and a finished product. // I also look forward to every Friday video. I have learned to create beautiful, not a lot of effort beads that fit in my time frame of doing what I love to do. Since joining I have purchased almost all the back issues, created a color mixing spreadsheet, and still have not been able to do all the projects but it is on my to do list. // I might watch one of your videos several times just to make sure I can absorb what you are saying and I so love the fact that I can replay the videos as much as I want. I truly like the fact that we can purchase the back issues because I get to learn what I would have missed had I not been able to purchase them. // So many beautiful beads and techniques I have learned to do. The possibilities are endless. I really love using the future and the E6000 adhesive. You have different ways to accomplish the same result that I can chose which way I like to do things. I can now make rings of different sizes and can make faux stones at a fraction of the cost and I can also be proud of because I am the true creator and not just an assembler. I can determine how I want my stone shaped and if I want to be able to string it or place it in a bezel. And yes all of this is from watching your beginner course which of course made me more curious and expanded my knowledge and now I am ‘on the roll’. // Before taking this course I knew nothing of polymer clay except that I can mix and make beads, who knew there was a whole world of possibilities out there. Thank you Cindy and keep doing what you do best. Explaining by your mistakes so I don’t have to make any! Give us the different ways to sand, buff, finish because without those tutes I wouldn’t know which way was best for me. Regards. ~Janet-S >> This comment was originally posted at this link: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy, I got your beginners course 2 days ago, finished it last night and became a member today. I signed up for the membership plus the 3 month backdate offer. I want to tell you that you have helped me more in the last 3 days than all the reading I’ve been doing for the last 3 months. Thanks Cindy. ~Linda-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Tutorials

Hi Cindy, I purchased your beginner course about 3 months ago (which is about when I started working with polymer clay) so I can honestly say you have been with me from the beginning! What a godsend your tutorials have been! Your instructions are clear and concise and so very easy to follow. As you know, when I was done with the beginner class, I had to know more! I became a member and I have purchased almost all of your back issues. I have made flower canes that I could not believe I would ever be able to do. I have made Kaleidoscope canes and showed them to my sons and they look in wonder and say “how DO you do that?” I just smile and say Cindy showed me how. I have a friend that started using PC several months before me. I am proud to say that I have surpassed her current skill level and I owe it all to you! (Okay, just a teeny bit competitive there, but she started it, LOL). I tried your Blend and Switch tut yesterday and can’t wait to finish them. I just received my UV light and resin, so that is today’s project! Also, even though I’ve “graduated” from the beginner’s course, I still refer back to these videos when I can’t remember exactly what you said. I am also so very impressed with how quickly you respond to everyone’s questions (including mine) and if you aren’t immediately available, someone on the blog will be more than happy to jump in and help. Keep up the great work! I can’t wait to see what this week’s tutorial will be!! Very sincerely. ~Laura-Z >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Lessons

I have been beading for about a year and was window shopping and saw some beautiful beads. I talked with the shop owner and she told me they were polymer beads. I thought no way can I make them even near that nice. I started to look online to see what lessons were available and found Cindy’s site. The Beginners course got me started to see if this was a craft that I wanted to stay with. The way she teaches makes it so easy and fun. My beads might not get as good as the ones in the window but I know I can get close. ~Pennie-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Learning

Hi Cindy! I have to tell you that I’m so enjoying the content of all your videos. As a relative “newbie” to polymer clay, I’ve found them all so helpful and informative. I ordered the beginner course too – even though I have a basic working knowledge of this craft, it’s still nice to have an experienced clayer to learn from. Thanks for letting me “watch over your shoulder”! Take care. ~Cheryl-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymerized Fabric Roses

Thank you so much for your encouraging words!!! And thank you for recommending the basics course… I already have it, but I agree with you that it is an invaluable course!!! I am getting soooo addicted to making jewelry with poly clay!! I love working with the mediums and clays Cindy’s tutorials are amazing!!! How she does it all is beyond me!!! ~Heidi-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Focal Beads

I’m not sure when I joined I think it has almost been a year. All I do know is I have blown a lot of money on crafts over the years. But all of this with Cindy is an investment. If I may add, one of the best investments I have ever made. All the knowledge in the beginners course is just phenomenal. I thought I already knew enough to get buy without the beginners course (WRONG). I new some of it but now I understand all of it. Every time which has been a lot of times I go back for a refresher I feel refreshed and ready to create. Cindy was definitely born to teach. The only mistake I have made was not joining the very first time I came across this fantastic site. I might not feel well enough to do the tuts as them come to me but I try in time and LOVE every second of it. I enjoy everyone here in the group and we just get better and better with each day Cindy and her husband give us. Cindy you are very blessed with this talent you have passed on to us which in turn makes us even more blessed. I have said this before but, THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!!!!!! God Bless you and all of us here. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Fundamentals

Hi Cindy, I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE the Polymer Clay Basics Course and the library videos. They are great! Have learned so much. You make it easy to understand. The videos show you Exactly what to do and your explanations are wonderful. I am starting my own business; and this has truly inspired me to do so many things I never thought possible. I will continue with you for a long time to come! Thanks so much for sharing your gifts and talents with others. It is a true blessing. ~Sue-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

OMG my heart just drops when I hear there is a 5th Friday… I also forgot and here I am waiting for your weekly video!! Like Peggy, I also wait all week for Fridays! Since I have not finished looking at all the topics in your Beginners Series, which I purchased (there is sooo much to look at and learn!) I will have to be content catching up on those! That’s fine, because I learn something new in each one. Also I can look forward to your surprise coming this Friday. Actually, the 1st thing I look at each morning is your daily blog. You have taken over my life Cindy!!! lol ~Maureen-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials and Color Recipes

Your “Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners” video course has helped a lot. I absolutely love it and have picked up so many tips. I had made about half a dozen different types of necklaces and earrings mostly learning from books and drawing on past pottery, jewelry making and sculpture experience. Your videos have been such a help in conditioning the clay properly, mixing colors, sanding and finishing, using scrap clay, etc. Each one has taught me something that I may not have learned on my own for some time. The tip on creating a beveled edge using plastic wrap has made my mirror tiles look so much more finished. Who knows if I’d have ever discovered that technique on my own. I like the length of each video. The short segments are easy to go through and at my convenience. Thanks for your warm, relaxed style of communicating and detailed instruction. I also appreciate your encouragement to experiment endlessly and find your own techniques. This is so important and is where the real adventure is found in any creative experience. The course has very much enhanced my enjoyment in working with polymer clay. As far as improving it? There are endless techniques you could include, but I think this has great content and is just right for someone at the beginning stage of working in this medium. It covers the basics very well. I’m so glad I found your site. I have begun a collection of books that are very helpful and instructive, but it’s great to have a site to go to for more in-depth instruction. Thanks Cindy. ~Marsha-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tiles

Hi Cindy, Wanted to let you know that your Polymer Clay Beginners’ course was just what I needed. It showed me some of the things I had been doing wrong, and some that I had been doing correctly. My biggest problem has been finding a finish that I am happy with. I have tried everything you, and others, have suggested. Strangely, I have found the future floor polish gives me the best result, even better than dremel-buffing. Since I completed your beginners’ course I have also purchased two additional lessons. I find that your lessons are clear, with enough detail, but not so much as to be overwhelming to us beginners. I have also visited other online polymer clay sites and found some of their instructions to be unclear and some to be downright contradictory. For example: slice the cane thin, but not TOO thin. So, give me a number – 1/8″, or 1/4″. I chuckled when I read your profile and you said that your background is in art. I have been an avid crafter since childhood, but my chosen career was accounting! I was a very unhappy accountant, and couldn’t retire soon enough. (After all, creative accountants go to jail-something Enron taught us.) I have come to polymer clay late in life and so far I love it and am very happy to have found your site. ~Martha-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Videos

Cindy, I wanted to let you know that I still refer back to the Beginners Course quite a bit. It helps me so much. It was the best investment I have had this year. Thanks again. ~Ifama-J >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beginners Course

Cindy has a Polymer Clay Basics Course, which covers the Fundamentals, which is perfect for someone who’s just discovered this wonderful medium we’re all addicted to! The course also has intermediate tips and tricks, and it teaches you how to get started making beads right away (without all the mistakes we make when we do it alone!). There are 39 videos, but they’re short and to the point… so you can go through them all, or just watch certain topics first… however you want to do it. I highly recommend! ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Cindy, this tut is awesome. I was trying to wrap it around my head of how you were going to do this awesome Lily creation and it ended up being just the simplest thing. Your basic course is definitely a way to go to get all the basic requirements and understand how clay works; then add some of one’s creativity to come up with these awesome designs :) I have all kinds of designs racing in my head now. The difference between what I’ve been doing with graphic design is that now I have to think 3D instead of 2D. You’re the best Cindy. ~Rada-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Spotted Lily Petal Cane

Hi Cindy, Thank you for your videos. They provide a lot of information. I loved the basics course. It gave me everything I need as a beginner and I’ve been able to equip my “studio” with the tools you recommended! There is so much information in the videos that I keep going back to them as I progress because it is a lot to take in all at once. But that’s what is great about having them available! I want to progress to more back issue videos in your library as I get the basics down. ~Patricia-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Basics

Cindy, I have been a member of your Polymer Clay Video Library for well over a year, and only just recently purchased the Beginners Course. It is worth every penny and I should have purchased it sooner. I have taken quite a few PC classes at the local craft stores and paid $20.00 a lesson and did not learn half of what I learned with your course. Each video teaches me some thing I did not know before! At the craft store we would spend about 2 hours being instructed and then when I went home I would not remember half of what I was taught because I was too busy following instructions and couldn’t take notes. With your course I can take my time and watch it over and over whenever I want and it is like you are teaching only me and concentrating on me alone instead of 4 or 5 people. I love it!! Thanks so much for the time and energy you put into your work! I enjoy everything you do! ~Maureen-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Fundamentals

Hello Cindy, I am enjoying my in home tutor classes very much! While I started out with Sculpey III, I am still using it to learn with while waiting to grab some of the firmer clays. I had all but given up, thinking I was doing something wrong or just wasn’t a ‘clayer’. Thanks to you, I have rediscovered my love for clay. I’ve done many crafts over the years but making my own beads to add to my beaded works is just fantastic! Your instructions, tips and ‘you can do this’ attitude are wonderful. The videos are easy to understand and are not long and drawn out. You explain the process as it is listed in the title and then move right along. I also like that I can view them at any time from the comfort of my home, in any order. The price for your course is fantastic, as well. I can’t go get books that describe all the things in your tutorials for that price – no way! Thank you for an excellent product, wonderful instruction and fantastic tips! If there was only a way to add a ribbon now … lol! Sincerely. ~Roberta-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Cane Bead

I love the “Basic’s class” even though I’ve been claying for a few years I learned tips and tricks that I didn’t know before. Many thanks. ~Molly-F >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Polymer Clay Canes

Cindy, Your Beginners Course is truly is a good course. It gives you basics that will start you on your way quickly and easily to creating beautiful beads. I really like the tip on using crayons with translucent clay. I have been making clay beads for three years and love it immensely and decided to purchase the beginner course after subscribing to your other weekly videos and still discovered knew techniques. ~Shervoux-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Inclusions

Hello Cindy, I have been retired for a couple of years now and trying to learn new things, polymer clay being one. Your beginner course video’s are very helpful. Love your work! I really want to learn cane making. Thank you for all your hard work. ~Phyllis-S >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Beads

Cindy – I’m just finishing my beginners package. I’ve learned a ton of things already! I’m so excited! ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy, I came to your web-site and beginners course when I’d already learned (theoretically at least) quite a bit about polymer clay. I found the course to be an excellent foundation for anyone wanting to learn techniques and I learned a few good tips from you. I was a little frustrated because the information was just that a ‘beginners’ course – I wanted to go much further – but then you do cover a lot of intermediate techniques in the weekly videos. I wished I’d bought the course right at the beginning of my claying journey. I really like your style of teaching, finding you very helpful and cheery. I love how I can go and refresh my memory anytime I want. All in all well worth it! Kind regards. ~Iwona >> This comment was originally posted here: Beads Made with Dried Flower Petals

The ‘Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course’ was very informative. Although I have dabbled with polymer clay in the past, the above mentioned, is very good for beginners wanting to learn how to work with and utilize this excellent form of clay. ~Lindsay-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Miniature Polymer Clay Food

Cindy – Just getting ready to start the color section of your bead making course. What I would have paid to have these tutorials to have started with at the beginning!!! When I think of all the hours I wasted trying to figure out how these techniques and tools worked….from books (ugh! always too short and not enough pictures) or from TV (too fast, too much left out), it almost makes me want to cry. LOL! – For someone just starting, wow. Talk about a jump start into being able to create beautiful objects. Going to be able to test out this with a friend of mine soon. She loved the stuff I showed her, and being another photographer, loved the idea of creating beaded slip knots to be able to adjust her camera equipment. So, for her birthday in Sept, her husband is giving her membership to your site and the bead course. Will be fabulous to watch someone artistic start from scratch with your courses, blog, and tuts and see what she does. – The drill bit section was particularly notable. Never had thought of or seen someone turn these into tools. For me, the use of power tools will be a little risky with the hands, so this technique opens the door for safely adjusting bead holes without a hole in the hand via the Dremel. Just took a good sized chunk out of my thumb yesterday wiping a kitchen knife clean while slicing my tiny yellow plum tomatoes for drying (yum, so sweet) so caution is something I really need to apply when I start with the process again this winter. Definitely hauling out all my old bottles of red nail polish and marking the tissue blades right end up before I set to work too. – Another tip I am going to start using religiously is tearing the clay in half, then rolling through the pasta machine. Always folded and put the folded end in first, but, thinking back, I think using that method is bad, bad, bad. Introduces way to much air into the clay, and your way is just as fast. Actually, it’s fun, LOL! I like tearing it, and looking at the inside, comparing it to the surface. – Well, time for bed. Thanks to you, the bead courses and your site, today was exhilarating. Fondly always. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Disc Beads

Cindy’s Polymer Clay Basics Course has 39 videos that teach you everything from choosing clay, conditioning it, rolling & piercing beads, using pasta machines and food processors, baking clay, sanding/buffing it, to finishing or varnishing your creation. And everything in-between! It’s really the best way to go, if you want to learn to make polymer clay beads and avoid making costly mistakes. ~Phaedrakat >> This comment was originally posted here: CraftSmart Polymer Clay

Hi Cindy – The beginner’s course is very helpful. Does it cover everything? Perhaps not… but one will never get all the information one needs in one place, so you should be happy in knowing that you provide one of the best resources available anywhere. I don’t have the time now to fully provide complete feedback… but I will provide more info when I get a chance. I do enjoy the membership, though I find the newsletter not as interesting as the videos. ~Sally-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Texturing Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy – Thanks for getting back to me so quickly about the PayPal issue. I sure don’t want to miss any of your weekly library videos. I watch them all the time over and over… even the beginners series which I’ve had for at least a year. Love love love them. As the weather gets warmer we are outside more and I seem to do less crafting. But one of my favorite things to do when it’s warm is to sit in the back yard with our lap top computer and watch your videos. Take care. ~Nancy-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy, I wanted to tell you that your Polymer Clay Basics Course is very helpful. I knew nothing about Polymer Clay so for beginners it really makes it much easier to be successful when making beads. Thanks so much. ~Marie-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Making Tips

Cindy, Thank you so much for the beginners courses. I wasn’t going to purchase it as I thought I was probably past that, but there is so much value in your videos that I couldn’t take a chance on missing something great. Right now I have my Lortone tumbler going (I bought it for silver clay) using the river rocks I purchased this am after watching your video (several days ago I sanded part of my thumb away and it hasn’t healed yet). I’m so happy to find the answers to questions I haven’t even thought of yet. The library videos and the blog are a gold mine of information. I hope to buy the remaining ones over the next few months. Thanks again and have a happy holiday. ~Rose-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Video Course

Hi Cindy, As well as being thoroughly enjoyable, your videos are very well made, concise and to the point. Your explanations and demonstrations are very clear and you always offer little extras. Instructions are easy to follow – I think your beginner’s course is so thorough that it’s relatively easy to progress quickly once you’ve been through it. So, more of the same please and more advanced techniques would be welcome. In terms of improvements, I can honestly say that there is little that comes to mind, you’re doing such a great job. I occasionally have a question but I usually find the answer in one of your videos or in the member benefits question and answer sections. I only just started applying what I’m learning from your videos and what I’ve tried works, so there you go! I just made some beads and tried out a few canes and I’m going to make some jewellery with them (I’m a jewellery designer/maker with a graphic design background). Can’t wait to try all the techniques out and experiment more, I’m falling in love with this polymer clay material. I want to try combining polymer clay and silver (both traditional silversmithing and silver clay). I think the combination would be interesting. Perhaps something for you to ponder? In terms of pricing you are competitive and offer good value for money. I think this is a strong advantage over other online tutorials that charge the price of a complete book on polymer clay for one or two tutorials. In that case I usually opt for the book! I think this competitive edge will bring you more business, so good luck with that! Last but not least, well done and thanks. I look forward to my next tutorial. All the best. ~Naum-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

I wanted to tell you that I really love the beginner course. This is the first that I have worked with clay and I think you are a great teacher because I think I’m doing great! I enjoy it so much that I have been making beads most of my time. It is easy to understand and a lot of fun. I’m so glad I found you. ~Linda-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Learning

Cindy, about your Polymer Clay Beginners Course… I don’t know how else these video tutorials could be improved. You explain clearly; you demonstrate every step clearly (anything that I can’t see, I click on for a full image view and viola, it is there) – is there anything else to improve it? I can’t think of it – if I can, I’ll let you know. When I start on polymer clay, I will be accessing the Basic Course again to refresh my memory. As I have written before, I can’t wait to be a monthly subscriber – my loft re-org is getting interrupted ever so often with shoveling snow – but I am getting there. I’ll have the stuff set up the way I’ve seen it, get the supplies in, and be ready to roll – as your many other e-students have. I know you are EXTREMELY BUSY, but would you please consider PC e-lessons in other forms – like vases, or lamps? I thought much about perhaps applying PC sheets onto homemade light structures – I love lights and I think any kind of lights (little lamps) would attract visitors to say, one’s table in a local craft show – but I don’t know much yet. I have no experience in the local craft scene. There are a whole lot of jewelry artisans here, many of them extremely talented – so there would an influx of jewelry in local craft shows. Of course, I’ll start with very small things – like beads first, and hopefully, I may be good enough to advance to another area and on… and on… and on… You are a GREAT TEACHER – so thankful that I “found” you online while typing polymer clay lessons in my google search. I just don’t know what else to suggest that will make your e-tutorials a lot clearer. It is pretty clear enough even for a non-artistsan like me. Of course, the problems will crop up when I actually put my hands on the PC. That’s when I’ll revisit, a great deal, the PC basics course. I’m keeping my fingers crossed – hopefully a PC start in mid-March 2010. I need to practice till I can produce some reasonably good things for sale this coming Christmas. TKU for the bonus videos – TKU for your e-tutoring – I like them better than books (step a fold here, step b – step c – I just run out of time/patience reading and referring to the diagrams and reading through the paragraphs etc. It’s not like reading a mystery novel… at least that’s my personal opinion). TKU and blessings from ol’ yongi. ~Yong-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Cindy, Wanted to let you know that your beginners course is wonderful, I’ve learned so much from it. It was a great help and gave me the courage to make my very first cane last week. As I have looked at other peoples work and thought I couldn’t do that your course taught me that I could do it. The videos are a good length and very well done. Thanks so much! ~Linda-P >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Buttons

Hello Cindy, early this year I decided to have a go at playing with polymer clay, just for fun. So I purchased your Polymer Clay Beginners Course. Previously I’d made and sold jewellery made from paper and semi-precious stones. NOW I am making and selling my polymer clay jewellery!!!! Without subscribing to your course it would never have happened. I make and sell my polyclay jewellery to raise funds for charity. Without your help, tutelage and inspiration that too would not have happened. So…. THANK YOU, THANK Y0U, THANK YOU!!!!! Sincerest thanks to you. ~Elizabeth-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Agate Video Tutorial

I’ve only been making beads out of clay for a couple of months, but I feel the videos in your Polymer Clay Beginners Course where just great for someone breaking into the craft. Some of the topics I had already gleaned from the Internet from various sources but it REALLY helped to have a high quality video to SHOW you up close and personal about the topics you discussed. I definitely feel the series is a bargain and would recommend it. I subscribed to your weekly videos and have made beads from many of the tutorials. I look forward to the new video that comes out each week. I’m just beginning to experiment with mixing colors, so I believe the recipe cards will come in really handy as well. Keep up the fantastic work! ~June-W >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy, Your “Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course” is exceptional. I can’t agree more with all those who have said what a great teacher you are. And the presentation of the material you cover is easy to understand. The lighting in your studio is beyond professional. I have tried to learn another subject through TV video and the quality you have just wasn’t there. So I have an experience to compare to and you have it all. I have learned so much and now the fun begins to be able to play with the clay and make things happen. Of course I will need to refer to the tuts and their being available 24/7 is such a plus, no waiting for the class to begin, it is only a click away. Also, your video library has so much more and I’m excited about trying out the recipe cards. It is difficult at times to come away from your blog. All these artists who willingly share their talents also are wonderful. Its like an extended family in the clay world. Sometime I hope to be able to contribute an experience but for now I will be there with questions as I share this experience with my twin granddaughters who will spend their summer vacation here in sunny Florida. Thank you, Cindy. ~Joyce-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Making

Hi Cindy - I just wanted to say that I would have never even started polymer claying if I hadn’t taken your beginning Tutorial class. I had no idea where to start. The price was incredibly low! Michael’s offers no classes in my area (suburban Chicago, IL) and even if they did, they would not begin to include all the information you teach in your Tutorials. I learned everything I needed to know to get started. Then I wasn’t afraid to dig in and GO! The videos are very clear and concise and you presented them so well that I know exactly what to do. I have since purchased many books (second hand from Amazon marketplace) and their instructions are very unclear, although I have been able to learn and see many new things from them. But your instructions are A#1! And your price is unbelievable! Thank you Cindy, for providing such wonderful tutorials! I learned so much and I have since purchased almost all of the back issues of the library videos and have joined the club too! I continue to learn everyday and play with the clay almost every day. ~Coberue-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. The course is brilliant, I don’t see how you could make it better. I feel I have my own private tutor in the room with me. Your instructions are clear and concise. Thank god for the day I found your site. Thanks for your support. ~Josie-T >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Raku Beads

Hi Cindy! Taking your course definitely showed me how much I don’t know about polymer clay. Being a complete newbie, I found every video extremely helpful. Before I had no idea about different brands, how to make even size beads, how to not get fingerprints, I didn’t even know beads needed to be sanded and finished. Until I get further into my bead making, I can’t think of a thing to add… Except I am anxiously waiting for your cane making video series! ~Joyce-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Color Recipes

Cindy – It took me awhile to go through all of the many videos in your beginners course, and I found them very helpful. I know I shall go back to it frequently to refresh my memory. It does really help to see exactly how things are done. Thank you. ~Christine-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

I’d like to share my thoughts about the Beginners Course. Bear in mind I haven’t actually done anything with the clay yet. Firstly, the videos got me really excited about polymer clay, in a way that the books I have, never did. Secondly, I wish I’d seen your videos before I purchased all of the Sculpey I have lying around from years past. I had some Premo but a lot more Sculpey. Also, I liked your tip about buying just a few colors and mixing my own, since space is at a premium in my studio. The video tips have allowed me to purchase just what I need to get started, without wasting a lot of time and money on trying various products for myself. I like your emphasis on a quality product. I think that’s what’s been missing from the experience I’ve had with polymer clay, whether in books or pieces I’ve seen. I have high standards for my jewelry and I think that the lengthy sanding is where most people don’t seem to go. ~Carole-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Mixing Polymer Clay Colors

Cindy, I have enjoyed all your bead making beginners course and the subsequent videos on sanding and sharpening of blades. I like your info so much I signed up today for your Polymer Clay Tutor Library. ~Carolyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Canes

Well, I got 8 out of 10. I missed knowing who was the first to invent polymer clay, and I forgot that it is Premo, not Fimo who basis their colors on traditional artist pigments. Well, I know I will always remember this things from now on!!! I feel good knowing that I remembered everything about which clays work best for what:) Good test, Cindy. I think I’ll go back and watch your Bead Making Basics Course again! I haven’t watched it for a little while, and I obviously need a tune up! ~Cindy-E >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Beads

May I say how very much I like your videos. Your style of explaining and the speed at which you explain is perfect for me. So, as a “newbie” and having recently watch the beginner’s course, I think that it is just right. ~Doug-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Ideas

Cindy when I first got interested in polymer clay I saw a Carol Duvall show on TV with Donna Kato. I was so in love with that show. I bought a bunch of clay on Ebay and a few tools and a pasta machine. I knew I had to have the machine because of my hand and wrists. I got everything ready and I was like a deer in headlights. Left it out for a week then put it up and did not get it out again for over a year. Now that is just plain silly. At the time I had been working with wood and found my comfort zone so that is what I returned to. Then I came across Polymer Cafe magazine and started watching Carol Duvall again and just jumped in. Was it great no. But my grandkids loved it so I stuck with it and fell more and more in love each day. I can truly say I didn’t get comfortable with it till I joined your sight and bought the beginners course and all the back Videos. I go through what most everyone else does every time I make something. There is no worse critic for your own work then yourself. But I have learned perfect or not I am having way too much fun and that is what the most important thing is for me. I learn more everyday with your videos and blog. I read and reread, I watch and re watch and learn something new every time. I am totally mesmerized with your talent and you. Once again Thank you for being YOU!!!!!!!! ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay

Having a box load of any type of art collected or made over the years is a treasure, like finding great sea glass on a beach and adding it to the jar. For me, the best thing about this site has been that it’s provoked me to “start over” and relearn skills and tasks. The tutorials and sites here have been incredibly informative and well worth the cost. Taking the bead making course from scratch, then, forcing myself to use the new methods Cindy demonstrates and not revert back has been a challenge and has dramatically increased my enjoyment of the process as well as seeing a lot of progress in my capabilities. So many times we can get “locked in” to where we are, and forget that lot’s of life is about the achievement of positive change. My Dad grew tired of my petulance in childhood, and began responding simply, “then, change it.” (or shut UP, lol). It instilled a deep “can do” attitude, that I think Cindy exemplifies perfectly. ~Jocelyn-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Learning

Hi Cindy, I just wanted to say I am so glad I decided to buy your beginners course. I love modeling flowers and had bought some clay and made a few beads myself before I signed up with you. I learned so much from the videos each week but I found that I needed to get to the basics. There was so much I did not know. I could have experimented and found out a few things after the mistakes but this saved me time and clay. I learned about storing clay correctly and rolling perfectly round beads. A friend of mine commented on how nice and round my beads were! The video on making holes and enlarging holes was priceless because I had a problem with that I’m not perfect yet but I now know I’m doing it right. I can also make holes after the bead is baked which I did not know before. I enjoyed the cane videos – the bulls eye and jelly roll and checkerboard. I also learned how to make a nice beveled edge pendant; I had made a flat pendant and rolled it up because I was not satisfied with the edge. So thank you for all those wonderful videos too and sharing all of your knowledge. You are just awesome! I hope you will continue having those videos coming for a long, long while. I look forward to them all. PS: Thank you for the bonus videos too. ~Cheryl-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Kaleidoscope Canes

Hi Cindy, Your video polymer clay basics course is extremely helpful – it’s one thing to read instructions (via magazines and books, and from various web sites), but it’s another thing to actually have a kind voice (especially another Canadian!) walking you through the steps. I’m an “in-your-face” kind of person – so learning comes so much easier when I’m able to see what needs to be done, to see the finished product, and hear suggestions along the way. I don’t use a laptop, but I make notes – each and every video has given me a piece of information that I didn’t know (who would have thought to use crayons for colouring! – yes, colouring with a ‘u’ even though my spellchecker doesn’t like it)! I’ve tried my hand at many various crafts over the years – from painting children’s clothes, teaching ceramics in Ottawa, selling my wheat weaving at the Kitchener Farmer’s Market, woodcarving (whoops – arthritis in the hands – couldn’t do that one for long), chainmail jewelry (hands didn’t like that one either) – but when I was introduced to polymer clay, my creative juices began to flow – the sky’s the limit with this product and with you putting me on the right path with your videos, I can see endless possibilities (silly thing to say, but I never even contemplated making buttons!) So, in a nutshell – yes, this is a very beneficial video course! I thank my lucky stars for the day that I happened onto your site! Keep up the Great Work! ~Gail-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Making Polymer Clay Buttons

Hi Cindy, Your lessons in the Polymer Clay Beginners Course have inspired me to try something totally new. Yes, I have been a beginner all the way. And you have walked me through with your lessons and I’m thankful you have made this all possible. I think the short video classes give the brain enough time to load up and try it out. I would highly recommend these classes to others so they can make beads instead of trying to learn by mistakes. Keep on, keeping on. Thank You! ~Holly-A >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Bead Giveaway Contest

Cindy, Your polymer clay fundamentals course was well worth the price. I got some good ideas… like the saran wrap for making beveled edges. This improved my polymer clay buttons immensely! I loved the bonus videos. And I also liked you’re info on mixing colors. Very interesting how different brands mix differently. I’m always trying to think of new ideas, no matter what materials. I found these really striking fabrics and I wanted a way to make them look different from other pillows. Here’s some photos of my work. Thanks. ~Joan-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Buttons

Wanted to let you know that your Polymer Clay Beginners Course is very informative… a lot is basics but still those basics are very important to get a product that is a lasting one. As with all your videos, very concise with no frills and time consuming talk that is just not necessary. I do love your videos. ~Cherie-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

Great idea Peggy! I belong to the NYC Polymer Clay Guild and at last month’s meeting, I talked about Cindy and her Polymer Clay Tutor. As a matter of fact, another guild member also subscribes to this website. It is so easy to promote Cindy. Her course is extremely informative and her weekly newsletters are chock full of great ideas and tips! Like I always say when I get together with my girlfriends “Happy Happy Joy Joy”!!!!
Dear Cindy, Just want to say that I found your beginners clay course to be not only be helpful, but quite encouraging as well. I really just need someone to show me and let me try for myself. I like that I can go back and review anytime, day or night. I also like the idea of a library.
Cindy – I have already recommended your ‘Beginners Course’ to others! It is a great foundation on which to build. I like the way you have it set up so one video flows right into the next – very user friendly. I just sat and watched the videos, until you got to the cane making. Then I took the time to make the canes right along with you. Thank you for sharing your own learning experiences with us. It has cut my learning curve way down! With your videos I feel I can tackle just about anything you present. Your course, and the weekly videos, are worth every penny I have spent for them. ~Carolyn-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Checkerboard Canes

Cindy: There are no words to describe how much I love your course! I have books and videos and tapes but nothing can compare to your course. Each video is concise and clear. Even the camera angle is superb. Other videos are shot from the front and you see more of the teacher than what she or he is actually doing. I go back to your videos time and time again because no matter how much I watch, I still need to check out something once I actually begin the hands-on portion. The cost is more than fair. I don’t know if it is profitable for you but I intend to stay a member as long as you are available. Even in these difficult times the price is affordable. I wake up on Friday and think, Oh great! Today another video is available. You are the best and I am thrilled that I found you. On top of everything else you seem to be such a sweet and unassuming person so each video is like a visit with a good friend. I love you, Cindy! ~Beverle-S >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library

Hi Cindy, I found your Beginner’s Course to be quite informative. Even though I had been to a hands on class in our community I learned a lot of new things from your video. I also had a book on polymer clay, but your videos were more helpful than reading the instructions in the book. I found your instructions on making bulls eye, striped and checkerboard canes very helpful – I never thought they could be THAT easy to make. I also learned how to successfully use the tri-bead roller. I am enjoying your weekly member videos and have learned a lot of new techniques. Now to just find the time!! Thanks. ~Debbie-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Beginners Bullseye Cane

Loved your course and as it was mentioned there is 24/7 availability. I’ve paid for quite a few classes in different mediums and yes, after a few days I’ve forgotten many important details and forget about trying to read my scribbled notes (I can’t even make out my handwriting!). More importantly, Cindy, is that I feel, as I’m sure everyone else does, that you are a friend, always helping when help is requested. For all of this, this course and subsequent membership in your monthly videos is: PRICELESS!!! ~Catherine-R >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Fundamentals

Hi Cindy, I had been using polymer clay for about a year when I joined in Dec. 2009. At first I didn’t think the Beginner’s Course would be of much help, but after watching several of your other videos and picking up a few tips I decided to purchase it. I was glad I did. Again, I picked up some tips that improved my work greatly and made my life easier. Thanks! ~Coral-Y >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Projects

Hi Cindy – I think your course is excellent! I have learnt so much in such a short time. Your videos are very easy to follow – you explain everything in an easy to understand way. I look forward to Fridays as I’ve never done before! Thank you Cindy. Kind regards, ~Pam-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Leaf Beads

I just discovered polymer clay in this last year and like we all do I searched online for information and videos that would help me learn to use this stuff. I came across Cindy and thought investing in her beginner’s tutorial course was what I needed. At the time I was wrapped up in multiple projects and couldn’t sit down and take her step by step video and apply it to clay but I kept it all in the back of my mind as I read her blog. When I finally got around to sitting down and applying her teaching I was grateful for learning little things that I know I would have fought with forever. Next step was signing up for a membership and I foolishly put it off as life got in the way once more. I don’t know why I didn’t think harder that Cindy’s bargain price for what she offers was something I could go back to over and over when I had the time. Instead I just read the blog and thought I’d sign up when I was finally settled back into my craft room and life. Ha! Polymer clay had got under my skin and I started playing with it whenever I could and wherever I could. I took over the dining room table with all my tools and my laptop running Cindy’s videos once more. And! I had to buy back issue after back issue that I could have had for membership prices if I had been a little smarter. It didn’t matter. Even buying the back issues and catching up has been worth every single penny I’ve put into it. Living where I do there is not one person I know of or any classes given on polymer clay. However – I can reach out to Cindy with an email and she has repeatedly given of her time and knowledge like she lives right around the corner from me and we have known each other all our lives. Not only does Cindy give all she has – but this community also gives as well. I have learned so much from Cindy and from other clayers in the comments. I feel that if we all met in one big room we would all know each other immediately. Thanks Cindy. I don’t feel so alone in my new hobby. And thanks to everyone else as well. ~Aims >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Cindy, I thought your Polymer Clay Beginners course was well worth the price. I got some good ideas, like the saran wrap for making beveled edges. This improved my buttons immensely! I love the bonus videos. ~Joan-D >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Buttons

To All My Fellow Newbie Poly-Clayers: Being the winner of Cindy Lietz’ 2008 Treasure Hunt, and having access to Cindy’s first set of videos in what I hope will be many sets, I just want to agree with those who have now purchased the videos, and to testify to those who have not yet received Cindy’s videos: Cindy is the best teacher, and her videos are the best videos!!! :) :) :) I have already learned so much from these videos that I so fortunately won this past week. Cindy teaches the “between-the-lines” information that you don’t get when reading an instruction book. Cindy makes sure that every detail of the subject matter she is focusing is addressed, and made to understand. Not only that, but her videos are a really good quality, which makes watching them an effortless and seamless experience. The lighting in her videos is always right-on, and the angles at which she tapes what she is so eloquently teaching is very thoughtful and conducive to the viewer’s learning experience. I can not say enough for Cindy’s videos, and I know that I will continue to learn from Cindy as she puts out more video sets. See for yourselves!!! You can’t go wrong if you purchase these videos!!! Give yourself a great gift, and get them :) Sincerely, a very happy Cindy Lietz fan and follower. PS…NO…Cindy Lietz did not know I was going to write any of this :) ~Cindy-E >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Jewelry

I so appreciate the Polymer Clay Beginners course and all the comments that are made. A relative had shown me a flower petal bead last summer and when I lost my dad Dec. 10, 2009, I really began to think about making petal beads and after going online and finding your web site and course available, just had to take it. Experimented with crushed dried flower petals and the polymer clay and have made bracelets for my two sisters, mother, and myself; also matching earrings. They loved them. For the bracelets I added Swarovski lead crystal beads and 14k gold plated corrugated beads. One had sterling silver corrugated beads and Swarovski lead crystal beads. These gifts meant so much to them and also to me. We had a wonderful dad and miss him so much. What a precious way to have keepsakes. Thank you Cindy. ~Teresa-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy, Thanks for the video on storing clay. I just wrapped my first attempt at canes day before yesterday and it was with GLAD WRAP!! Unbelievable!! I am still looking at the Beginners Course as I am a beginner. I think that learning how to cane properly is the key to becoming a great jewelry artist using polymer clay. I work during the day and have other activities in the evening as well as on the weekends but every chance I get at work and at home I look at the video course. I need to know how long I will be able to view it? I promise I will get better, LOL. Thank you again for putting these videos together and I will be purchasing more when I get more money. I appreciate them soo much as I am now addicted to polymer clay. I have not used the Premo, but bought some at your suggestion, however I have bought tons of sculpey III to use up. I made a necklace the other day using a mold with sculpey III but I think I am going to back it with the studio sculpey that I bought so that it will be stronger and not break. I remember your saying that we can mix them. I look forward to all you have to offer. ~Ifama-J >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Store Polymer Clay

Ifama – Thank you for sharing with all of us. Your items are beautiful. You have shown and reminded us how wonderful Cindy is at teaching us all how we can take her videos and put our own personal touch on them. We can take and make something all our own thanks to Cindy. Cindy – I think we are the ones who are blessed to of found you. Thank you for everything I have learned and continue to learn. I have each and everyone of your videos from beginners on. I still continue to go back and watch all of them over and over learning even more each time. You do not have to be a beginner to get much needed information from the Beginner Polymer Clay Course. Even some parts that I had read about in books before, watching it on video helped me to understand it better. I also want to thank you for all the questions you have answered for me. You make me feel like no question is a silly question. Also thank you to all of the other members who have helped with my questions and concerns. I feel like Cindy has made us all a part of a special little clay family where we can help each other. So I am sending all a special THANK YOU! Keep Claying. ~Peggy-B >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

I have had a wonderful time reading Cindy’s blog everyday and looking forward to the wonderful videos! I love them! My New Years resolution is to do less “just reading” and more claying! Really getting into it! And to do that I have just this morning given myself the gift of Cindy’s Beginner Course videos!! Yah! I can’t wait till tomorrow to start watching and learning and doing! (Having company today or I would start today). I’m glad to be part of the family! ~Maureen-G >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Course

About your polymer clay video course… I loved the whole thing. I especially liked the one on what colors to buy first, so I could get started having some fun without having to purchase a whole bunch of random colors, which probably would have turned out to be not so useful, as well as the tips on tools. I feel that the course really helped me get my feet wet without buying a lot of expensive stuff. I only had two issues: 1. I must have funny-shaped hands, because I just could not get a decent football bead made. (Don’t care, will just stick with oval beads from my tri-bead roller.) 2. In rolling a bulls-eye cane, I made an indentation in the middle as suggested, but I found my ends flying apart after a few rolls. Trust me to find a new way to screw up! I think it was because my cane was too long for me to control. Or it could be the funny shaped hands. I thought the length of each lesson was just right, and the pace was right too. I was able to take notes during my first viewing, and then follow along as I tried out the skill during my second viewing. I did have to replay once or twice during certain videos, and the only thing that I can suggest that would be an improvement is the ability to move back and forth during the video. I found I had to start from the beginning each time (feel free to ignore if this is just my lack of techno-savvy). I had fun with the course, and ended up buying a subscription (which I am also enjoying), and would recommend it to anyone who is either a visual learner, or is just not inspired by books, like me. ~Carole-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Lessons

I’ve been a full time lampworker for about 20 years and have been looking to expand into another medium. We have talked about polymer clay for years, but really didn’t know where to start. Your Beginner Video Course cleared up most all of our questions : ) Thanks again, ~April-L >> This comment was originally posted here: Handmade Focal Beads

Hi Cindy – Sorry I’m so late, have been very busy lately. I love the Polymer Clay Course videos! I have not yet had time to look at all the follow up bonus tutes you emailed. Love all the techniques… like the sandpaper and water, crayon tips and so many more. I have a friend who likes to take shortcuts, but won’t spend the money to learn the real shortcuts like you are showing us. Anyway I love your videos. Can’t wait to watch the rest of them. ~Judy-F >> This comment was originally posted here: Sanding Polymer Clay

Hi Cindy: Wanted to let you know that the Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course, was a good place for me to start. As I know very little about clay. Actually I had become interested in the silver clay, from a demo that I had seen some time ago. But the cost was not within my means at the time. Then I found your site and was hooked. I have done several pendants, Lentil beads, a spiral cane and some fabric. OH, I also made some turquoise beads which I still have to sand the paint off, I am thinking that I will set up the rock tumbler and try and get a better start in them. My daughter actually said they looked like turquoise. I did really have to refrain myself in the beginning to start with the simple beads and canes. As I am one that wants to start with the hard stuff first. The bonus videos I thought are very informative and necessary for the beginner I have been watching the videos several time. Every time I watch the videos I pick up on something I missed. I try and control my self by looking for tools and other necessity. I went to three different hobbies stores today looking for the Etch’n Pearl tools, but still did not find them. I know I can find them on line I just hate to pay shipping. Thank you for the videos. ~Barb-C >> This comment was originally posted here: Faux Turquoise Jewelry

I would love to purchase the Beginner Course, plus any of the weekly videos I do not yet have access to … I have been working with clay for a couple of years, so might not need the Beginner Course, but am sure I could pick up some info that would be great! Love your weekly videos! I have to admit, I sometimes stay up late on Thursdays, hoping you will post it in the wee hours of Friday morning!! ~Jonalee-M >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Videos

Hi Cindy, I wanted to say that I enjoy your videos. My kids will enjoy learning from them as well. I wish we would have found these earlier. We did a lot of research, made mistakes and bought several books. Your web site, the course and the weekly videos have been so helpful I wish we would have found you first. It’s great having all the information we need in one spot instead of surfing and hunting for help in many other places.
Hi Cindy, I would like to respond to your request for feedback about the beginners course that I purchased. I can’t think of any thing to say that could improve it, except do a second one, LOL. However, I can state how the course has helped me as a beginning clay-er. Your step by step visual from how we are to sand, what products to use, the types of clay, conditioning the clay, what equipment, the introductory to caning, marbling and blending colors is priceless. Also having access to this course when needed is so valuable that I don’t think words do it justice, as I couldn’t remember all the information you have provided when I need it. I love this course, being able to SEE it is far more than the instruction I have seen on the internet in words only. You explain things so well. I have learned to set up my work area watching your course; I have bought each item you suggested (even though I bought a lot of Sculpey III BEFORE I got the course). Even though I have viewed the course a number of times, each time I come back, I see something new. I love it, keep up the good teaching. ~Ifama-J >> This comment was originally posted here: Butterfly Pendant Jewelry

Hi Cindy, sorry for being slightly late with this reply. I have to take turns with the rest of my family with the internet!! I enjoyed the “Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course” very very (moltissimo!) much. You’re great at explaining Cindy and all your advice is valuable.
Brand new to the craft. My stepfather, who just passed last week, had been doing it [polymer clay] for 2 years and even sold his wares in the nursing home. My wife and I are going to try it and perhaps we can move from novice to where we can supplement our income. I am really excited, love your video’s (bought the 39 lesson beginner’s lessons) they are extremely helpful and a darn sight better than learning from a book – although we have a book or two as well. ~Doug-K >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorial

Love this idea about the recipe cards… also since you have been doing this a lot longer than most of us…any additional tips such as resources would be wonderful as well.
Hello Cindy, What I can say about your tutorials, blog etc, is you are very dedicated person, very helpful, very professional, “unfortunately” I can not found something bad, so you can improve on that. Also, business-wise, I believe you are using all the good methods for the products too. So, just carry on as you are and you will be as good as it can be :) I am sure this did not help you much, but, if you know more about me, you should take this as a extremely big compliment, because I just don’t take BS, and you will have mouthful if you are not nice and helpful as you are. Way to go my dear, thumbs up! Best regards from South Africa. ~Srdjan-R >> This comment was originally posted here: How to Make Polymer Clay Beads

Dear Cindy, I live in Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. Nobody probably knows where to find it on a map but it is a very nice little place to live in. I am a french speaking admiror of yours and I learn so much with your course. Do not change anything it is all perfect. Hope to learn more and more from you.
Cindy, as a newbie I can’t get enough of your videos. I already went through your 39 basic polymer [Course] videos and they were great. I’ve seen a lot of other videos on the web but yours are so easy to follow.
Cindy, I can’t tell you how wonderful your videos have been for me. The course I purchased has launched me into creating beads that are an amazement to me and also to my friends! I love all the videos you send as well as your prompt answers to any questions or concerns. Being able to learn from your mistakes is very, very valuable. Thanks again for all your hard work and willingness to share your knowledge and experience with us. ~Marsha-N >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorials

Cindy, I thought your course was very informative. I never worked with clay before, but read several books. I like to be shown how to do things rather than just reading about them. Most of the things that are in your course I was familar with. I just needed to hear some of the problems that you had making things so that I could correct my way of doing things. I find myself looking forward to your new video every week, along with the color recipes. ~CJ-Clinger >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Beads

Hi, I have been following Cindy Lietz’ blog, www.beadsandbeading.com for about a while now. She is WONDERFUL and her site is so full of fabulous teachings about polymer clay. I can not say enough about all that I have learned from Cindy, My Polymer Clay Tutor, and her tutorial videos, her course and her daily posts. Yes, I do have her first course, and I am a paid member to her Video Library. The knowledge Cindy imparts on all of us is priceless. I would suggest that anyone who is at all interested in working with polymer clay, jewelry making, or in finding fellowship with like minded people, go to her site and become part of the community, sign up for her courses, and all that Cindy has to offer. Both experienced clayers, and beginners can benefit greatly from her. I am just one of many who has learned so much from Cindy. Cindy’s videos are the best. The videos are high quality in all ways (content, picture, and sound). Cindy is such a precise and considerate teacher. She anticipates all of the questions that one might ask, and she answers them, and shows great examples as she answers them, with fun and easy to follow videos. Cindy’s daily posts are something that I look forward to every day. Don’t waste any more time…check her out, and you will be so happy you did…I certainly am!!! A Loyal BeadsandBeading Follower :) ~Cindy-E >> This comment was received via email.

This happened approximately 2 wks ago. Since I have ordered several of the back issues, and the beginers many videos. At first I thought the beginers might be just repeat of what I already knew “NOT” Much much more thanks to Cindy’s way with both polymer clay and teaching. You are a natural. I have learned so much more and I am constantly going back and re-watching videos picking up more even the 2nd time around. The only complaint I have is against myself for not doing this the moment I first heard about Cindy. I belong to a Polymer Clay guild due to health am unable to attend meetings but enjoy the blog information and chatting back and forth with members. Nobody puts anyone down. I also belong to other Internet sites with polymer clay free and paid for info. I love them all but none have come close to the information and suggestions that Cindy puts out there. I just can not imagine someone thinking she doesn’t give this her all. You can tell she loves her work. Ask her and she will answer. Don’t ask her and she still answers. Polymer Clay brings out great things in many people. Super things in Cindy. I honestly think she is one of the best teachers I have ever been blessed enough to come across. I would love the chance to spend a few days in the shawdows of Cindy and her clay. If you ever hold Personal classes I want to be one of the first to know. If possible I am already there. THANK YOU CINDY AND YOUR HUBBY TOO!! Eager for more. ~Peggy Barnes >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay

Cindy, Your course is better than reading a book because it is so much more helpful to actually see someone making and working with clay. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about polymer clay to go through your video lessons. It is also very helpful that each lesson is short and to the point. ~Katherine Barber >> This comment was received via email.

Once again I am just blown away by all that you share here Cindy!!!!! I am learning new things and I am soaking it all in….I am a newbie, I have been playing with clay for a few months now but nothing serious. I already make my own jewelry and thought how fun it would be to design my own items through clay. I am most interested in the canes… and there is so much to learn. If I purchase your video lessons do I just have the 30 days to look at all of them or how does that work? I work and take care of an elderly mother as well as my hubby so I don’t have a lot of time on the PC… so I will wait to see what you post back…..:0) Thankx again Cindy….this is GREAT!!!! ~Pamela [Thankx for answering very quickly… I think I read on another post somewhere that you were ‘super woman’ or something similar!!! I whole heartedly agree!!! Thankx again, I am off to purchase the video series… :0) YIPPEE….I can’t wait to get started. ~Pamela Cameron >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Tutorial

Cindy; I am new to Polymer Clay and was looking for a resource for teaching me about bead making. Your course has provided me exactly what I needed, a way to learn bead making at the same time as I am learning polymer clay. I love that I can come back and re-watch the videos. Thanks for all of your work. ~Karen Benson >> This comment was received via email.

Cindy, I have enjoyed and learned a lot from the course. You have definitely taken the fear out of using polymer clay. Keep the videos coming. Thanks. ~Kathy Bloom >> This comment was received via email.

Dear Cindy, I have to say I absolutely enjoy your videos. I have highly recommended them to others as I truly find them beneficial. In fact I took a class a week prior to purchasing your course and was a little overwhelmed by so much information. The instructor was wonderful but it is just so much information to take in one day. After signing up with your online course, it was a pleasant refresher of the class and made even more sense now that I heard it twice – and more if needed! I like the way you explain things and I always look forward to the next week. Someday I hope to purchase older ones. I look forward to future tutorials – can’t wait to see what is next! Thanks again. ~Lori Newman >> This comment was originally posted here: Craft Classes

Hi Cindy, I thought this course was very valuable and well done. I wish I would have come across your site so much earlier. I have been fumbling around with polymer clay for awhile now, and in many ways, I do mean fumbling. There were many times I found myself thinking “Of course!” or “Aha!” or just “Duh… why didn’t I think of that,” while watching the videos. This is a fantastic course for someone who wants to save a lot of frustration (and money) while learning to use polymer clay. Your tag-line says it best, “I learned by making mistakes… Now you don’t have to.” Thank you so much for making this available. I love all the information and videos I’ve seen on your site. ~Dawn Boone >> This comment was received via email.

You have no idea how over whelmed I feel about what you said about my beads. I could never have made them without your video on thread beads. All your videos and tips are wonderful to newbies like me. Please keep up the great job. Thanks for the advice and information. I purchased your course and every bit of it’s helped me out. I refer back to it nightly and nonstop on the weekends. Thank you, thank you, thank you YOU ROCK! ~Paul Arthur >> This comment was originally posted here: Jewelry Making Tutorial

Cindy, I would recommend the beginners course, as I’ve mentioned before, you can learn a certain amount from books but they tend to miss out vital steps, which is where your videos come into their own.Yes there is free info out there if you want to spend hours searching, though the quality of filming is usually a let down. Mistakes happen to us all, weather beginners / advanced, through your own experience, we are able to avoid expensive mistakes when it comes to starting a new hobby, after all, you’ve been there before. ~Andrea Dimmick >> This comment was received via email.

Dear Cindy, I am so fortunate to have found your blog, and I am very grateful that I have been able to enjoy your “Polymer Clay Bead Making for Beginners Course.” I have learned more from your course, and your bonus videos, than I could have ever guessed I would learn. Each of your videos is so jam-packed with information… yet, because you really know how to teach, you make it all seem so simple and doable. You explain, in detail, how every part of each process works. You have taught me what tools are the best to use, and how to use them. You have taught me the differences between each different kind of polymer clay, and the best way to work with each of them. Each time I finish a video that you have made, I go away knowing, without a doubt, how to do what I have just been taught. I now have great confidence in my abilities when I work with my clay, thanks to all that I have learned from watching your videos. Through your videos, I have learned how to avoid many mistakes (after all, you have already made them for me!), and how to make beautiful beads, jewelry, and anything I want to make! Making beads and other projects with polymer clay used to be so mysterious to me, now, thanks to your beginner course, I understand what I am doing, and I just get to have all kinds of fun!!! I can hardly wait to so what more you have in store for all of us! Sorry… I have no complaints!!! Sincerely. ~Cindy Erickson >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Cane Tutorial

I’m thrilled to have found your course! I had played with polymer clay for a short time a few years ago but set it aside. Your course has helped to ignite a passion, and I’m very grateful for the work you put into it, along with your blog and your library. You see, I had a stroke in 2001. I’m okay physically, but the depression can really get in the way. One day in February was unusually warm, and I decided to go out and run a few errands (which is sometimes difficult when depression rears its head). I stopped by our local Barnes and Noble to have a cup of coffee at the café, and of course I had to find a magazine to read while enjoying the coffee. PolymerCAFE jumped out at me. Reading it caused me to feel something I hadn’t experienced in a long time – enjoyment! When I got home, I Googled polymer clay, and found your course. Cindy, I’m hooked! I’m a rank amateur, but the passion is there. This feeling – being passionate about something – is one I haven’t experienced in many years, and your work has played a big part. I simply cannot thank you enough. Serendipity is always such a wonderful surprise, and that’s what happened – the warm weather, the magazine, your course. I never expected any of them, but together they have set me on a course that I’m thoroughly enjoying. What I love about your course (and your library videos) is your wonderful down-to-earth, chatting-with-a-friend attitude. Your depth of knowledge comes through, but it’s in a quiet way that I appreciate. It leaves me feeling encouraged, not intimidated (as many experts often make me feel). Thank you so much for being there! ~Linda Dube >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy, I very much enjoyed your course for beginners. I am not a beginner, but have learned what I know mostly by trial and error, reading and a few simple workshops. Your tutorial was great for me to fill in many empty areas in my knowledge of polymer clay. Some ideas had occurred to me but I had not let tried them. You provide knowledge of products, techniques and how to get good results. I very much enjoy your presentations. You are creative, sharing, and have a good sense of humor. I look forward to your videos every week and especially look forward to your millifiore course!! I can not think of anything to add to your presentations. Thanks so much for your efforts. I am sure many artists/crafters out here love your info too! Thanks so much. ~Lynda Lahr >> This comment was received via email.

Dear Cindy, I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to do your online bead course. My problem was that I was overwhelmed by all the reading material available and unable to translate the information into action. I was in a frustrated state of inaction. In Australia there are very few good polymer clay courses and they are expensive. Books do not show you exactly how to do things, just because the amount of pictures available are limited and the subtleties of technique are omitted. Your course however is invaluable. Your manner of tuition is the best that I have encountered. You are clear and concise and not a bit patronizing. You are very generous because you give a clear message that these techniques are achievable and you encourage experimentation. I have you there 24 hours a day on video, so that I can recheck my methodology. I am not anxious about experimenting and now I can’t stop. I just finished a beautiful set of beads using translucent clay stained by dehydrating and grinding up the stamens of tiger lilies. To change the look again I added a drop of red food colouring. I couldn’t believe that they worked out so well. My next experiment is with waxed crayon as per your weekly online course. Mosaics are my ultimate goal. There isn’t enough hours in the day!! I look forward to your weekly lessons and will gladly subscribe to any course that you offer. Thank you again. ~Cara Letho >> This comment was received via email.

I love your website and want you to know how much you have helped me. I am a newbie and would still be lost without your lessons. I think that charging for the website is only fair and you are doing all the work and I am benefiting from it. I am always willing to pay a fair price for lessons that help me become smarter or more efficient. Thank you for hosting your site. ~Elle Rice >> This comment was originally posted here: Mixing Polymer Clay

As a fairly new person to polymer clay, I have found the Polymer Clay Tutor to be an invaluable resource. I do subscribe to the member site and am glad to do so. Others with more experience may be better able to navigate all the information “out there”, but I too found it all to be overwhelming. Cindy’s courses and videos are well done, start with the basics, and then build as your skills increase. And, as another person said, it’s all there in one spot. If you have specific questions, Cindy is very prompt to answer questions on the blog or in separate emails. For me, the cost of membership is well worth what I am getting! ~Marsha Nelson >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy, I am fairly new to polymer clay. And I was making mistakes and didn’t know it. But when I found your courses , I was delighted to see how much fun it was to work with polymer clay when you handle it properly. And your videos revealed my mistakes and the right way to do things, So I am delighted to be a part of your teaching and I will keep adding more courses as I progress. I am pleased to say I have already sold 2 necklaces I learned how to make on the videos. I have been making jewelry for a little over 2 years , but making your own beads is so cool. So thanks for making mistakes and sharing so I don’t have to. Sincerely. ~Marilyn Smith >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy – I have not viewed all the videos yet due to schedule/time constraints. The ones I have viewed are great and helpful even the parts I know something about have made things clearer. Seeing how things are done gives a sense of confidence that I can do it. ~MJ Southern >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy! I will be definitely joining you with this new venture, and am thankful that I tripped across your website. The tutorial I purchased was unbelievable, and very insightful to me. I’ll be back to it again on the weekend. It offered so much information, that most people don’t share — even when someone pays a fee for it. So, thank you for being so generous with your knowledge. Cindy! I found so much useful information in that purchase, and know that my mind (at this juncture) needs a reminder. In any event, you are a shot of adrenaline, and I’m sure alot of people are learning from it all. Ta! Ta! Cindy, you’re top banana! I’ve dealt with alot of people on the internet, and trust me — you are beyond fair!
Cindy – I purchased and have been watching the course videos and learning a lot. On to play some more! ~Joyce >> This comment was originally posted here: Common Polymer Clay Brands

Cindy, You are the best… I have books, books, and more books but there is nothing like your hands on teaching. I look forward to each new e-mail and I love your “down to earth” style. Thank you so much. ~Ginger >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy, I am very pleased with the course. It is great to have a visual learning tool and the quality of your tutorials is great! There were many things I wouldn’t have known if not for your helpful tips. And your service is wonderful! I can’t believe how much I got for the money. (I’m also a member of your library) Glad I found you. ~Susan Werner >> This comment was received via email.

Just a short note to say thank you. I recently became a member and bought all your back issues and courses and am really glad that I did so. I love your style of tuition. You are clear and informative and the quality of video is great. I have bought so many books and watched other videos, but you have taught me so much more. Here in Australia the tutorial level of polymer clay that I have come in contact with is not great and very expensive. I now can proceed with confidence and I have a permanent resource to check with if I falter! I look forward to further tuition and thank you again. All the best. ~Cara >> This comment was originally posted here: Popular Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy. There are not enough words to describe all the wonderful and helpful information I’ve received from your polymer clay bead making for beginners course video. You’re step by step instructions are great, and I can stop the video and start it where ever I need to. I refer back to the video when I get stumped or just need a refresher. Please email me when you’ve finished the next course, I promise to purchase it. Newbee and learning more every day thanks to you. ~Paul >> This comment was received via email.

Cindy, Where I come from Nobody does or has even seen polymer clay. I live in a small town in Minnesota, and drive an hour to buy my clay. I look at books but it isn’t the same as seeing it done. What you do is great. What I’ve seen so far in the beginners course, I have learned a lot and best of all I can do it!! ~Sharon Betts >> This comment was originally posted here: Learn How To Make Polymer Clay Beads

Hi Cindy, I found the course to be very helpful, I wish I had gone on to the next course instead because I had been doing most of what you showed. I will get more courses, you do a wonderful job. Thank You. ~Diane >> This comment was received via email.

Hi Cindy, I looked over my new video subscription today, and it’s awesome!! Know that I will have to return again (mannnyyyy times)!!!! You’ve definitely given me the initiative, and I loved your method of teaching — just matter of fact, and unlike most with an attitude (You are learning from a Rocket Scientist!!) Ha! Ha! Thanks again, and I’ll be back to look over the tutorials I purchased today. // Would have come sooner, but I’m computer illiterate. Ahem! (it could be that I’m 64 and these things just don’t come to easily). Obviously I did something right though, because I was able to access the entire program I purchased. It had to have been my prayers to Jesus, because it was really getting to me. // Thanks again, and by the way — I’d highly recommend your course to anyone. I plan on getting onto the Google and putting your name out. You are an exceptional teacher, and very gifted!!!! With Appreciation. ~Diana >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Polymer Clay Beads and Canes

Hi all, After searching the web, youtube and buying some very good books. I decided to buy the basic course for beginners and I was hooked. I signed up as a member and Cindy’s videos are very informative, clear and concise, I highly recommend her!!! The way I looked at it, I was paying only about $3.00 a month a lot less than all the clay I have wasted. If at any time I am not satisfied I can cancel with no problem, although I highly doubt it!! I am just a satisfied customer and do not know Cindy personally! ~Tinuke >> This comment was received via email.

Dear Cindy, The course is great! I knew something about polymer clay, but no so much, after the course my interest is always increasing and I’m able to do a lot of things. Now I’m selling more creations to my friends, cause they want to have the jewelry that I weare. Thank you Cindy, I’m a fan of your work.
Good morning Cindy. I just wanted to say thank you for your website and videos. The website is easy to navigate and the free videos have been great. I am going to order the course as soon as I finish this email to you. I have been crafting for years and since HGTV has changed their craft show format, I look to the internet for more instructional sites. I am chronically ill ( for 21yrs. now) so it is hard for me to attend a class. People like you make it possible for me to enjoy doing crafts that I might otherwise not get to do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and using your great teaching skills with others. God bless you. Sincerely. ~Zoe >> This comment was received via email.

Cindy – I think your course is excellent. I had never even attempted bead making and you explain everything so simply and easily that I caught on right away. I’ve made a lot of “practice” beads and even a simple cane so far. Can’t wait to get into it in more depth. I continually go back and re-read your videos – great presentations. ~Susan Sabine >> This comment was received via email.

I watched all the tutorial videos that I purchased and wanted to say that you motivated me so much that I am very anxious to get back to the United States to get my supplies to start… thanks so much for all your hard work putting the videos together. They were great! ~Charlene Patane >> This comment was received via email.

I got six out of ten right, too! I know I’ll be watching the video course again soon! :-) In my defense though, I’ve been concentrating on my flower petal beads and experimenting with Premo, Fimo and Kato translucent clays. Each one is unique and they each seem to react differently with different flowers. This was a great quiz though, Cindy! Thank you! ~Marsha >> This comment was originally posted here: How To Make Beads

Dear Cindy, It was really nice running into your page on the net. I’d like to know about the classes.
Cindy I just purchased your beginners course and I like it very much. There are so many little details that no one else tells you. I have seen the lentil beads you make and they look amazing. I want to start making polymer clay beads and combine them with the tagua nut beads that I sell. I guess these will be the perfect combination. I am just starting with polymer clay and I am really apprehensive as to making canes or any other complicated project. I would also like to know when you will have your next 2 courses available as I would be interesed in buying both. Thank you for your help. Best regards. ~Gail @ Polymer Clay Bead Making Course

I have loved the 1st video course! What fabulous lessons you’ve created for me… the beginner. My interest is in learning to make unique buttons for quilted wall hangings and pillows. Do you have any videos featuring button making? I also would enjoy learning more from your wonderful blog pages. How is it possible to view the “full” videos from there? I would love to learn more. Thank you Cindy. ~Robin @ Jewelry Bead Making Course

I really appreciate the videos and all I am learning. I just had surgery and will begin the practical phase next week. So far I have just watched and read and amassed tools and clay. Once my husband picks up a 12×12 ceramic tile I will be on my way. I have seen someone make a tree face out of the clay and although I begin this craft wanting to make beads, I can see there is a plethera of things you can do with it. I am truly looking forward to getting started. I purposefully did not start so that I could use it as a distraction during my recovery. Your videos have been very very helpful. ~Lani @ Slicing Polymer Clay Canes

Hi Cindy: As you know I recently bought your Beginner’s course and I find it is just great. All those hints and tips make a great difference for someone like me just learning how to work with polymer clay (don’t find these in books). Some of us are more visual and need to really see how to do it rather than read on how it needs to be done. I find it just amazing that I can get a video course and see it as many times as I want and stop it, go back, etc. I started making jewelry as a hobby about 5 years ago and think that being able to create our own beads, pendants, etc. in the colors of our choice is amazing. The other thing I like about it is that creating something really opens up your mind and imagination as to what we are capable of. Keep up your great work and please let me know when your next course will be available as I will certainly buy it. Thank you so much. ~Gail @ Video Polymer Clay Tutorials

Hi Cindy, I am getting my supplies together to start playing with clay in December. I have purchased your beginners video course and see that I need to come up with sandpaper and buffing cloths. I have checked on eBay for these items. I found the sandpaper but they come in 50 sheet purchases. I don’t need THAT much. Where is another good place to check? There is also a neat looking buffing cloth for shoes on eBay. It’s canvas on one side and flannel on the other. Would this work for buffing? Thanks and I love your tutorials. They have been very helpful in getting me prepared. ~Cori @ Polymer Clay Starter Tools
