Hi Cindy, Thank you so much for the additional videos you sent out with the course. Who knew that plastic wrap was not all the same?! Or that you can sharpen blades or use color crayons. And, I’m getting some dry-wall sandpaper today. I so enjoy your on-going creativity and enthusiasm. I really appreciate your clear instructions and clear photography. I first got exposed to polymer clay in a metal-smithing class. We made pendants with bezels and filled the bezels with polymer clay. I was intrigued, and loved the colors. I took a one day workshop on polymer clay. It was a pretty slap-dash affair. I know people want to go home with something after a workshop, and one day is not much time to get into the details. But, I left with a couple of distorted canes, a few beads appliqued with canes, and not much else. There was definitely not enough information to keep going. I tried, with sadly disappointing results, a few things on my own, and knew I needed help. I checked books out of the library and started trolling You Tube. That’s when, thank goodness, I found your videos. The basics classes were just what I needed. I could see you doing what the books described and doing it step by step and explaining why. Now I feel confident enough to play and experiment and my results have much improved. Thank you! I also want you to know that I appreciate your business reliability. Dear Cindy, I wanted to thank you so much for being my polymer tutor. First off, I feel like you are speaking directly to your students in a friendly and professional way, never condescending or patronizing. You speak in a very conversational manner, and it is greatly appreciated. In your Polymer Clay Beginners Course, I like the way you have set up your videos and the production quality is excellent. Your explanation and demonstrations are very thorough and I know if there are questions I can look on the blog or email you. Thank you for your ongoing support. I like buying the back issue videos and appreciated the discount you gave. I am a big knitter but feel that I was not actualizing my creative self with just following patterns, now with my idea to create complementary buttons, I feel much more of my creative spirit. I have slowly been amassing my clay and tools and feel ready to go, but it is great knowing I can just log on and refresh myself with your videos and tutoring. Much better for me than books. Cindy – Your beginner course helped me a lot. I’m now a subscribing member as well, and have tried several of the techniques, like the liquid polymer clay transfer method, that I never would have been able to figure out on my own. I own several instruction books and most of them make an assumption that you already know a certain technique to be able to do the project they have for you, very frustrating. I joined about 6 months after Cindy started her tutes and knew a little about clay and actually thought the beginner course wouldn’t teach me anything I didn’t already know. Boy was I wrong. I loved that course and it even showed me a lot of new ways to do things I was already doing but very soon found out Cindy’s way was always easier and faster than any other way I had done. I still refer back to this beginners video at times. A very nice refresher course. Even for those that know some already. Then of course within a short time, I had purchased every back issue I missed. So my library is 100% complete. I love them all so much. Even those I don’t use often, I have learned something from I can carry with me in other tutorials or just messing around with my scrap clay. Cindy’s way is by far the best way to learn and make it so much more simple and faster. Hi Cindy, I absolutely loved your Polymer Clay Beginners Course. Every single video. Just as others have said, I say it too: I wish I would have found your site earlier on in my clay making and experimenting journey. It would have saved me a lot of headaches, and would have made my product better from the get-go. But… I have you and your videos as a resource now and am very grateful! Here are a few things I love: [1] You are clear in your directions and you go at an even pace (not too fast, not too slow). [2] You explain *each* step and *why* you do something a certain way. [3] The course followed logical advancement (i.e. doing basics first, then canes, etc). [4] It was *thorough*!! You covered a lot of territory!! [5] I have watched some of the videos several times, and will continue to do so with all of them. It’s nice to watch it and know when it’s time to actually go do it I have something to look back to as a reference. [6] I learned more in this course than I have reading through books and books and books at Barnes and Noble. [7] I can clearly see what you’re doing. >> I don’t really have any critiques or suggestions on improvement. I know it is equally as helpful but I just don’t have any for this course! Hi, Cindy! My mind is spinning! I started making things with polymer clay about 15 or so years ago. I only used white clay and then painted it. The colored clay scared me because of the fingerprints as well as the streaks I would get from my pasta machine. I didn’t have any idea how to clean them off and eventually got away from doing anything with my clay! Your course has been great and I am no longer afraid of the colored clay! I’ve learned so many things from your course. I never sanded my pieces before and what I used for a finish worked okay, but wasn’t the best. I’ve remade one of my painted designs in colored clay and it has turned out great! I used multiple colors, including a simple bull’s eye cane for some polka dots that were painted onto the original design. After baking, I sanded and buffed it, then used the finish you recommended and it turned out so cute! I’m planning to do some more and want to get good at making canes, too. In fact, some friends who saw some of my original work wanted to know if I had an Etsy store! I had sold some of my painted pieces in the past, have a special order for one of my “redesigned” pieces, and have now opened an Etsy store! I’m exploring and playing right now and hope to soon be able to purchase several if not all of the back issues of the library videos. My biggest problem is that there are so many things to make, I have a hard time deciding what to do! Thanks for all you do for us! I tried crayons in translucent Premo today after watching your tutorial on that and it was fun. I also found Premo on sale at Michaels about a week ago and thought — I have to tell Cindy! Cindy’s online Polymer Clay Basics Course is very good – it covers everything a beginner needs to know to get started and more. Everything is well explained. I’m happy with my purchase and pleasantly surprised to get the 5 bonus videos :-) I can’t think of anything that’s been missed out that should have been included. Cindy, I thought your beginner video course was fantastic. I learned more tips than I thought I would. The videos are nice and clear, easy to understand. I loved the background and basics. Cindy – Thanks for helping me to get straightened out with my password for the Beginners Course. I have now watched all 39 videos and can’t wait to get back to my clay station. I have worked periodically with clay in my crafting workshop but your details have given me many tips to try, especially the caning and colour mixing ideas. Hi Cindy – I really enjoyed your course. It was extremely thorough and helpful. Even though I knew some of the things in the course, it clarified a lot of the subject matter. Some of the little tips should have been common sense, but it’s like a little light bulb went on and I wanted to slap myself on the side of my head (V-8 style) and say ‘why didn’t I think of that myself?’ LOL I don’t think you need to change or add anything other than changing your title to ‘The Polymer Clay Goddess’!
