I like the “Gallery” idea very much and think it will be very inspiring to see finished pieces made by you as well as your prices (since pricing is such a tricky area). Some of my necklaces fall naturally together which is very satisfying but often I fiddle and fiddle and they just don’t look quite right. I try very hard to make asymmetrical necklaces which I think are far more interesting than regular bead-spacer-bead ones, and find that by using different shaped beads with different textures I can achieve this effect. Anyway, ideas from you for finished items will be really welcome. You just keep on coming up with great new ideas and continue to amaze me with your endless creativity! I made a really awesome necklace Saturday morning that I wore to my sisters birthday party. I’d post a pic of that but my cousin confiscated it! I made the cord ends, the clasp, and wire wrapped a “BC” (before Cindy) poly clay flattened tear-drop shaped pendant. Everyone was impressed, and my cousin said “Wow, Tanya! That looks professional! I did a bracelet for a client who has a daughter at UF (University of Florida). I put a charm on it with a photo of the “Gator” that I printed on white card stock and then covered with Bake and Bond. Just watched the video, I like the pendant also would like to see how that is made. This bead would look great used in a necklace where the beads are graduated, don’t know what the style necklace is called, I’ll try to explain it, it would be longest rocker bead in center then spacers on each side, then the next size bead on either side, spacers again, and so on, in an odd number of beads, sort of a fan shape. ~Ken-H >> This comment was originally posted here: Polymer Clay Library
Hi Cindy: Although I did not vote on the lanyard project (I guess I missed that opportunity), the comments left by your members have convinced me that it would be worthwhile project. Many times, I have learned a technique to use it in a different application. Perhaps this is a subject you could reintroduce again at a later time.
